Wowza.
It's no surprise that Israel has destroyed Iran's Arak nuclear reactor. After all, it was a key element of Iran's program to build nuclear weaponry, and a very vulnerable target.
The only strategic reason not to attack it was the fact that it could have contained highly radioactive material, and Israel had to balance the benefit of denying its use to Iran against the consequences of releasing dangerous and long-lived radioactive material if the supposedly inactive reactor held fissionable material.

Never fueled and active, according to Iran. But, now it will NEVER be fueled and used.

These areas will be uninhabitable for how long?
Good.

Now get Mordor, I mean Fordow. And don't be too surprised if they built a whole decoy level above the operational one (so attackers might think they destroyed it, when they haven't even reached it, yet).

FTA:"But the military capacity between the two nations is so asymmetrical that it is hard to comprehend. A nation of fewer than 10 million people can strike and cripple the military capacity of another that has 92 million, fly with impunity over its skies, destroy infrastructure at will, and decapitate its military.
It's STUNNING."

Although the system has not been deployed (yet, as far as we know), the "Rod of God" would seem to be a perfect way to get deep underground, through rock. A titanium telephone pole, about forty feet long, with steering equipment on the nose and propulsion equipment on the tail, being launched from outer space, would achieve unheard of speeds (Mach 30?) before slamming into its target with force roughly equivalent to Fat Man (Hiroshima A-bomb). Just a piece of metal, moving very, very fast. Would break a lot of rock over a deeply buried reactor. And if one Rod wasn't enough, how about five Rods in the same place? God's Post Hole Digger. Just an idle thought.

Re #2, read #1 and the article. Never fueled, so not radioactive.

Re #6,that weapon does not exist, never did. The plan was tungsten rods, which are almost twice the density of lead, and extremely hard. Titanium is light, and moderately strong, a bad fit for a kinetic energy powered weapon, since mass is important.
A very cool idea, but doesn't exist, so kinda hard to use. IIRC, this concept was first put forward by tossing rocks from the moon by a rebellious moon colony in a 1960s scifi book."The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" by Robert A. Heinlein, one of the greatest scifi authors ever.
If you read old sci fi,

FTA:
"It is a shocking--or would be, before this war began--example of how deeply Israel has penetrated Iran's population. Whether the people filming the strike were Israeli soldiers/spies or local supporters, it suggests that Israel can place people on the ground in some of the most sensitive places in Iran. "

Excellent point, #9. Re #6,according to the ultimate source, Wikipedia, (LOL!), not that fast, not that powerful, but still VERY impressive. Deep penetration would be the primary advantage over conventional attack.
For what it's worth.....

That's right. Tungsten. Titanium is what I've got in my spine (fourteen 3" screws, with attachments and overgrown cadaveral material; eight in the lumbar spine, six in the cervical spine). The operations were no fun. The recovery goes on forever. Don't injure your spine!

Consequences to Iranians be damned. They have allowed this thing amongst them despite most of the world not wanting Iran to have a Nuclear weapon. Destroy anything Nuclear you can find and the Iranians who have sheltered this nest of vipers be damned.

Re #11, oops too late. I crushed the L1 vertabra in my bicycle wreck. Until recently, it hasn't caused problems. Last few weeks....not good, muscle relaxers help, starting some PT to strengthen the muscles in the area, and will be seeing a spine specialist in a bit.

The reason that titanium is used in body screws and plates is that it is extremely corrosion resistant in the body environment, essentially warm salt water, very corrosive.
