The Supreme Court is heading into its summer recess, which means the justices will be issuing a series of hotly-anticipated decisions throughout June. These decisions could yield significant precedents that ripple through the national political environment, impacting congressional and executive agendas alike. So far, the court has already released rulings on e-cigarettes, a deportation case, ghost guns, and TikTok. Here are the decisions to look out for as the term comes to a close.1. ‘Gender-Affirming Care’ for Minors In December 2024, the justices were called upon to enter the gender debate by hearing arguments over Tennessee’s attempt to prevent “gender-affirming care” from being provided to minors.

The national injunctions issue is the most important. I never understood how one robed tyrant can overrule a presidential action based on the judge's feelings and emotions. Expect a 5-4 decision - but which way?

Injunction issue will go the way Amy Barrett goes. Let’s hope she is on the right side.

It looks like SCOTUS will concentrate on the small stuff, and leave anything that would help the country until later. A lot later.

A few datapoints to keep on a post-it note as things progress; starting with a rather significant new release that I think you will find interesting. Approximately 12.3 million Mexicans live abroad, both legally and illegally, with 97% of them living and working in the United States, according to BBVA Research. Last year Mexicans living abroad sent $64.75 billion back home in remittances, largely from Texas and California to states in central and western Mexico. According to data just released, in April of this year remittances back to Mexico dropped 12.1%. The Mexico central bank said April saw 8.1% fewer transactions than a year earlier, that’s down to

The Supreme Court kicked off its last month issuing decisions by refusing to hear two Second Amendment challenges to Maryland’s sweeping ban on AR-15s and Rhode Island’s restriction on magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. The high bench’s rejection of both petitions effectively affirms the blue states’ decision to encroach on Americans’ right to bear arms.AR-15s are the most popular semiautomatic rifle in the U.S. Under a 2013 Maryland gun grab labeled an “assault weapons ban,” however, residents of the so-called “Free State” were prohibited from owning an AR-15 or AK-47.

First the cliff notes version: There’s an important detail to remember. People are laughing at the long-range Russian bombers being left out in the open, vulnerable to attack. However, the bomber visibility is required as part of several nuclear agreements between the USA and Russia (SALT and START). Our U.S. long range nuclear capable bombers, covered under the same agreements, are also visible. Ukraine President Zelenskyy is playing with fire by targeting them, which also explains why Zelenskyy never told President Trump in advance. The U.S and NATO have provided the means. However, #1) did Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy just exploit a vulnerability by targeting Russian long-range nuclear capable bombers?

Doctors and residents across China continue to report more infections and deaths as the latest wave of COVID-19 continues, portraying a far more severe situation than the Chinese regime is letting on. Palestinians picking up food packages from the Trump administration-backed American alternative to the United Nations (UN) in Gaza were reportedly shocked the aid was free, having become used to being charged for it. As Breitbart News reported, the new Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) was launched to provide an alternative to the UN, which either fails to deliver trucks of aid or allegedly lets Hamas steal the supplies. Hamas then keeps the aid (especially fuel) for itself, sells the aid on the black market, or makes Palestinians pay inflated prices for it.

As previously noted, Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley released some of the FBI investigative files related to a congressional referral of Nellie Ohr for false testimony to congress. Within the Grassley release the declassified FBI investigative notes show that Trump-Russia files were compartmentalized, allowing control over access to them by the FBI Director and FBI Deputy Director. The 7th floor level classification within the FBI’s Sentinel record-keeping system was previously unknown, and now people are starting to ask questions about what other information may be filed yet invisible due to the classification designation of “Prohibited Access.”

Mobolade, who is Nigerian, won the election as a left-leaning independent in the traditional Republican stronghold in 2023 after the n-word was scrawled on one of his campaign signs and a cross set ablaze in front of it. Video of the scene was sent to the media, resulting in a swell of sympathy.

The “one big, beautiful bill,” which passed the House and is making its way through the Senate, would prevent taxpayer dollars from funding opposite-sex hormones for adults and minors. But MSNBC’s Katelyn Burns, a freelance columnist who proclaims the title “the first openly transgender Capitol Hill reporter in U.S. history,” took to dramatic fearmongering on Wednesday that this would kill trans-identifying individuals.

The Supreme Court has temporarily stayed a lower court decision that halted the Trump administration’s attempt to remove a protection known as parole for immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. The court’s decision, which came on May 30, blocks the lower court order as the issue plays out in the court system. Justices Ketanji Brown Jackson and Sonia Sotomayor dissented from the court’s decision. The Trump administration had argued that the decision to remove parole was discretionary for the secretary of homeland security and not reviewable by courts.

Ukrainian forces have wiped out dozens of Russian military aircraft, including nuclear bombers, in a massive drone attack on President Vladimir Putin’s air bases deep inside the country, Kyiv sources are claiming. The mission carried out by Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) using first-person-view (FPV) drones hit 41 Russian heavy bombers at four separate airfields thousands of miles from Ukraine, a security source told the Kyiv Independent on Sunday. Donald Trump's efforts to reach an agreement with Iran on ending its nuclear program just got a lot more complicated. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) released a "comprehensive" report on Iran's nuclear program requested by the agency's 35-member board. The report confirmed that Iran had been carrying out clandestine nuclear activity at three sites long suspected of conducting weapons research. It also concluded that Iran had vastly increased its stockpile of highly enriched uranium (HEU), spinning up 50% more as of May 17 than they had previously reported. That translates into the capability to construct up to nine nuclear bombs.
