Ukrainian forces have wiped out dozens of Russian military aircraft, including nuclear bombers, in a massive drone attack on President Vladimir Putin’s air bases deep inside the country, Kyiv sources are claiming.
The mission carried out by Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) using first-person-view (FPV) drones hit 41 Russian heavy bombers at four separate airfields thousands of miles from Ukraine, a security source told the Kyiv Independent on Sunday.
The drones were reportedly smuggled into the country hidden in trucks.
TU-95 “Bear” nuclear bombers, TU-22 “Backfire” fast-attack strike bombers and A-50 “Mainstay” command-and-control jets were among the aircraft that were destroyed in the strike, according to reports.

Yeah... I can see where WWIII might be on our dance card before the 20's are over. Heck, maybe even a sooner-than-later surprise!

Very amazing operation. And the doubters should look at the videos, many, many from Russian sources showing that it actually happened.

Ukraine didn't do this alone. The US military more than likely planned and supplied this sophisticated operation. Putin knows that better than anyone. This entire war is the result of Biden/Deep State corruption. We do not belong there. A very similar attack could be carried out against military bases in our own country. Not good.

Re #5. LOL!
I can tell you from working with Ukrainian scientists, many who designed and built the ICBMs for the Soviet Union, they needed zero help from us. These folks are smart, and think outside the box, all by themselves. We were working on a number of high tech projects, and I was very impressed with some (not all) of the folks that I worked with and managed. They DID suffer from the decades of Soviet management practices, and it was interesting to see how some understood modern project planning very quickly and easily, while some of the older management types fought against moving out of the old soviet ways.
Americans who have never traveled to other countries and worked with top scientists from those places are stuck in the arrogance loop that only Americans can do stuff like this. So many Americans are so provincial in their outlooks; This doesn't really surprise me.

Zelenskyy landed a big punch but Putin is going to be mad as a hornet. Not that Russia didn't deserve it given their policy of killing civilians and starting this mess in the first place.

FTA: The drones were reportedly smuggled into the country hidden in trucks.
Russian intelligence agencies, secret police and their military must be humiliated and furious over the ability of Ukraine to place trucks that contained drones into position for these attacks. The big question: What’s next? Anything can happen.

Concur with posters who reject the idea this required USA help.
This was brilliant, but not the kind of logistical brilliance that the USA leads on. These were simple drones driven to target in trucks.
Other countries, like Israel (beepers, remember) and Ukraine have clever folks, too.
As an aside, Russia has about 27 flyable backfires bombers. This took out somewhere between 1/2 and 1/3 of an entire nuclear leg. Huge.

IMO
Until now Putin has applied his military power sparingly while seeking a favorable resolution to the conflict. That will now likely change. Ukraine has invited wide spread devastation.
Putin, Zelensky, Biden and all pre war NATO leadership who allowed this conflict to occur are war criminals.

I wonder if any of those bombers were "Loaded for Bear." Atmospheric radiation testing will tell.

And WE were wondering why Putin was so uncooperative about cease fire... General Holts...on Newsmax said putin wanted the time to attack and take as much Ukrainian land as possible before coming to the bargaining table....more to bargain with...well he played this wrong...it must always be remembered that Putin is ole KGB...and they don't back down....he'll risk everything just to be right....that includes his people and the world....

#2 - I agree. The so-called "drone video" showing the results of the attack appears to be AI-generated. Ukrainians have a history of faking their battlefield victories over Russian armor and aircraft, and I am having a hard time believing they were able to take out a third of the Russian strategic bomber force, especially given the distances involved. The claim they did this from semi-tractor trailers that were clandestinely driven into Russia is also suspicious.

I’m afraid Putin will retaliate with a vengeance given this embarrassing loss. Too bad Ukraine didn’t immediately follow up with a Stage 2 and then a Stage 3 internal assault before Russia has time to regroup - they may not get another chance.

The strategic bomber visibility part of our SALT and START nuclear agreements with Russia. It does not matter if NATO or Ukraine did it for they our vassal states and the responsibility is ultimately ours. Walk out of this quagmire. We already did Vietnam and Afghanistan. When will WE ever learn?
