When the left runs out of substantive arguments, they pull out the same tired talking points. Chicago’s far-left, radical mayor, Brandon Johnson, is the latest example.
During his weekly press conference, Johnson claimed the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is “an act of war” and that the Trump administration is similar to “the Third Reich.”
Johnson claimed Chicago is the most “pro-worker” city in the U.S., but is facing “hostility” from Washington.
Johnson whined, “The fact that the President of the United States of America is cutting off food supply and medicine to working people and families across this country — that is an act of war.”

An Egyptian national who came into the country two years ago and overstayed his visa has been charged in the gruesome terror attack that left six people injured in Boulder, Colo., Saturday, authorities said.
Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, was arrested at the scene, (Snip) Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) sources told Fox News Soliman is in the country illegally as a visa over-stay, who came in during the Biden administration.
He allegedly flew into the U.S. on Aug. 27, 2022, arriving at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on a B1/B2 non-immigrant visa. Soliman was authorized to stay through Feb. 26, 2023, but never left,

Have you considered that you simply don't hate the press enough? If you think you do, you might find yourself reconsidering after reading this latest story.
As RedState reported, a pro-Palestinian terrorist in Colorado threw Molotov cocktails at peaceful marchers as they silently remembered the hostages being held by Hamas. The attack took place in Boulder, injuring at least five people. Police arrested Mohamad Soliman at the scene, with videos showing him shouting "Palestine is free" and "end Zionists" as he attempted to burn innocent people alive. [Tweet, video]

If you’re old enough to remember when Bill Clinton was president, you would recall that he was a silver-tongued, energetic politician who could fire up his supporters and excite the Democrat base—that is, at least, until he met Monica Lewinsky.
There is little of that fire left in the two-term president, as he has for some time now seemed low-energy and not particularly passionate. On Sunday, however, he showed that he can still drop some all-time whoppers when the time is right.
Appearing on “CBS Sunday Morning,” the former president minimized the mental decline of Joe Biden

You probably could guess we'd be hitting the apex of hypocrisy from those on the left in the wake of Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) making a "Nazi salute" Saturday at a California Democrat event.
Now, of course, it wasn't a Nazi salute. But it's the same thing the left and their acolytes in media tried to spin into a Nazi salute when Elon Musk did it. (X) So if they were to have any consistency at all with their "Democrat rules" on the matter, they should have condemned Booker. But of course, they didn't. Because for them, the real "rule" is "D" - Democrat equals we don't do anything

Uncontrolled wildfires raged through Los Angeles in January, all but destroying the neighborhoods of Pacific Palisades and Altadena. We at RedState covered extensively the mistakes made before the fires and after they broke out—including empty reservoirs, a missing mayor, a failure to clean out forests, a fire department that was as focused on social justice as much or more than it was about fighting fires, and more.
But now we’re in the aftermath.
Despite Mayor Karen Bass’ excited updates about how well it’s going, one Palisades resident begs to differ. In fact, he said recovery efforts are going extremely badly.

Donald Trump was not given a heads-up about Ukraine’s unprecedented drone strikes that took out a huge fleet of Russian planes on Sunday, according to reports.
Ukraine’s “large-scale” drone attack launched deep into Russian territory wiped out 40 military bombers and targeted five bases, Ukrainian security sources told CBS News.
The attack took over a year and a half to plan and was personally supervised by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the sources added.
Ukrainian officials did not give the Trump administration advance notice of the attack, both Ukrainian and U.S. officials told Axios.

A hate-fueled suspect launched a “targeted terror attack’’ in Colorado on Sunday — setting at least one woman on fire as he screamed, “End Zionists!” and lobbed molotov cocktails at people commemorating Israeli hostages still in Gaza, officials said.
Video footage captured the alleged attacker — who law-enforcement sources identified to The Post as Mohammed Soliman — in the middle of a tirade about Palestine and calling for death to “Zionists” before he tossed the fiery containers.
“They are killers! How many children you killed?” he shouted.

As a committed interventionist, John Bolton is, you’ll be shocked to learn, not on board with eliminating the Deep State’s cash cow that is USAID.
In voicing his dissatisfaction with the work of DOGE vis-à-vis USAID, he also pledged to bring back Voice of America, the U.S. government’s global propaganda machine. (For the last decade and longer, prior to its dismantling by the Trump administration, Voice of America had also distributed its content domestically, explicitly targeted at a domestic audience, illegally.)

Donald Trump's efforts to reach an agreement with Iran on ending its nuclear program just got a lot more complicated.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) released a "comprehensive" report on Iran's nuclear program requested by the agency's 35-member board. The report confirmed that Iran had been carrying out clandestine nuclear activity at three sites long suspected of conducting weapons research. It also concluded that Iran had vastly increased its stockpile of highly enriched uranium (HEU), spinning up 50% more as of May 17 than they had previously reported. That translates into the capability to construct up to nine nuclear bombs.

Another Biden scandal is blowing up—this time in East Palestine, Ohio. Newly uncovered emails reveal that the Biden administration knew cancer-causing toxins may have been released into the community following a catastrophic train derailment, even as officials publicly claimed everything was under control.
The disaster began on Feb. 3, 2023, when a Norfolk Southern freight train carrying hazardous materials derailed and burst into flames near the small Ohio town. Among the wreckage were five railcars filled with vinyl chloride—a highly flammable, cancer-causing chemical. Fearing an explosion, authorities ordered evacuations and carried out a so-called “controlled release,” sending a toxic plume into the air and blanketing the area in chemicals

There's been a whole lot of agita from the right-hand side about the "reconciliation bill" — the Big Beautiful Bill — that passed the House a few days ago. A lot of it is based on the CBO scoring the bill as costing $4 trillion dollars in revenue. And why does the CBO think that? Because the CBO thinks the government is entitled to all the lovely tax money that would come in when the tax cuts from Trump's first term expire. But the BBB went and extended the tax cuts. Those rats.

Not content with claiming the Earth is going to spontaneously combust if all the world's nations don't send their residents back to the Stone Age, climate change activist Greta Thunberg is now headed to Gaza. As is always the case with communists, the cause is never the cause. It's just a means to an end, so the target is constantly shifting. Thunberg has decided that donning a keffiyeh and falsely screaming "genocide" will garner her the most attention at this moment.
In her latest stunt, she is now on a sailboat from Italy that is supposedly headed to Gaza to "break the siege."

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) threw a fit last week when she was asked about a recent focus group survey in which Democrats are defined as "sloths" and "tortoises," as well as "deer in the headlights," when compared to Republicans, who were viewed by voters as "lions, tigers, and sharks."
She was dismissing what the voters were thinking. That's the real problem with the Democrats. - they're not listening or caring about what the voters want or what they are thinking. All the Democrats are thinking about is their power. That focus group of voters wasn't good for the Democrats.

A recent Democratic ad campaign claiming President Donald Trump’s tariffs have caused prices to “soar” is undercut by recent data painting a much rosier picture of the economy than Democrats’ talking points suggest. House Majority Forward (HMF), the nonprofit arm of a House Democratic leadership-aligned super PAC, announced a series of ads Wednesday targeting 26 House Republicans for supporting the president’s tariffs, which HMF claims has caused prices to skyrocket. However, several markers of inflation fell to four-year-lows in April while Americans’ wages are rising faster than the rate of inflation, the opposite of a trend that occurred during the Biden administration.

The Supreme Court is heading into its summer recess, which means the justices will be issuing a series of hotly-anticipated decisions throughout June. These decisions could yield significant precedents that ripple through the national political environment, impacting congressional and executive agendas alike.
So far, the court has already released rulings on e-cigarettes, a deportation case, ghost guns, and TikTok.
Here are the decisions to look out for as the term comes to a close.1. ‘Gender-Affirming Care’ for Minors
In December 2024, the justices were called upon to enter the gender debate by hearing arguments over Tennessee’s attempt to prevent “gender-affirming care” from being provided to minors.

Ukraine has launched a “large-scale” drone attack against Russian military bombers in Siberia, striking more than 40 warplanes thousands of kilometres from its own territory, a security official said.
The claims could not be independently verified. But if confirmed, the attacks would mark Ukraine’s most damaging drone strike of the war to date, amid an escalation in cross-border incursions before planned peace talks in Istanbul on Monday. Ukrainian security services are carrying out a large-scale special operation aimed at destroying enemy bombers far from the front, in Russia,” the official was quoted by Agence France-Presse as saying, adding a fire had broken out at the targeted Belaya airbase.

Ukrainian forces have wiped out dozens of Russian military aircraft, including nuclear bombers, in a massive drone attack on President Vladimir Putin’s air bases deep inside the country, Kyiv sources are claiming.
The mission carried out by Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) using first-person-view (FPV) drones hit 41 Russian heavy bombers at four separate airfields thousands of miles from Ukraine, a security source told the Kyiv Independent on Sunday.
The drones were reportedly smuggled into the country hidden in trucks.
TU-95 “Bear” nuclear bombers, TU-22 “Backfire” fast-attack strike bombers and A-50 “Mainstay” command-and-control jets were among the aircraft that were destroyed in the strike, according to reports.

Palestinians picking up food packages from the Trump administration-backed American alternative to the United Nations (UN) in Gaza were reportedly shocked the aid was free, having become used to being charged for it.
As Breitbart News reported, the new Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) was launched to provide an alternative to the UN, which either fails to deliver trucks of aid or allegedly lets Hamas steal the supplies.
Hamas then keeps the aid (especially fuel) for itself, sells the aid on the black market, or makes Palestinians pay inflated prices for it.

Americans may not have as many rituals as some other peoples do, but we have some. One of those is graduation, symbolizing the transition from one stage of life to another and a celebration of a young person’s accomplishments. (We may actually overdo these, as what was once a transition from college and high school studies is now often celebrated from even pre-nursery school.) Still, it plays a significant part of life, structuring time and change. Man, it must be brutal being a Democrat right now, breathlessly waiting for the '28 presidential election so you can finally get Trump out of your head and get a good old progressive back in the Oval Office. The problem? The potential candidate list so far is laugh-out-loud pathetic, a sad list of mostly failed “leaders” who almost all carry mountains of political baggage around their necks. The war in Gaza continues, and Trump’s favored negotiator Steve Witkoff expressed his frustration Saturday with Hamas’ intransigence in ongoing negotiations, but never fear: the governments of France and Saudi Arabia are rushing in to save the day. They’re planning to come to New York City, which is an odd choice of venue, as it is neither in France nor Saudi Arabia, next month in order to establish that entity that all too many people still fondly assume will bring a definitive end to the jihad against Israel: a Palestinian state.
