Gurpreet Singh was handcuffed, his legs shackled and a chain tied around his waist. He was led on to the tarmac in Texas by US Border Patrol, towards a waiting C-17 military transport aircraft.
It was 3 February and, after a months-long journey, he realised his dream of living in America was over. He was being deported back to India. "It felt like the ground was slipping away from underneath my feet," he said.
Gurpreet, 39, was one of thousands of Indians in recent years to have spent their life savings and crossed continents to enter the US illegally through its southern border, as they sought to escape an unemployment crisis back

"to enter the US illegally through its southern border"
"They" told us the border was secure. Nah, government officials and the MSM lying to the people?

Anyone who comes illegally and is deported should be banned from entering legally. Perhaps, with an exception for children brought here by their parents.

His claims for asylum had already been rejected by the UK and Canada. So, he thought he would just come to the US. What an idiot.

Let's do the math. He paid $45,000 to get here. He says that he needs $340/month to get by. $45,000 covers 132 months, which is 11 years. So, if he'd spent some of that $45,000 and perhaps used the land he owned for some work issues...BTW, how were wife, baby and mother getting along while he was spending the $45,000 on travel expenses.

The law is clear. To claim asylum requires more than poverty. I am not unsympathetic to his plight but the US hasn't the room or resources for every poor person in the world. Robbing (taxing) Peter to pay for poor Paul is not charity. Yes, we are individually called to help the poor but breaking the law is not the right way to do it.

#6 That's what I can't figure ---- that supposedly all these illegals were paying someone thousands of dollars to get here. Where did that money come from. Did the NGO's give it to them, i.e. our tax dollars?

India is neither at war, nor ruled by a despotic regime. I think those are two requisites for requesting asylum. And crossing through several countries where one can request asylum doesn't wash with me.
Our immigration laws are labor protection laws. They are to protect the American labor market to insure citizens earn living wages. Illegal immigrants are what "scabs" are to a union strike.

Any illegal who is deported needs a permanent re-entry ban. Especially children. Word will spread about such a disincentive. The feds should no stone un turned. The family that's deported together stays together.

From Wikipedia, known for its communist/socialist viewpoints.
"A comparatively destitute country in 1951,[63] India has become a fast-growing major economy and hub for information technology services; it has an expanding middle class.[64] Indian movies and music increasingly influence global culture.[65] India has reduced its poverty rate, though at the cost of increasing economic inequality.[66] It is a nuclear-weapon state that ranks high in military expenditure."
So exactly what was this guy's problem? Why did he spend $45,000 which is a nice chunk of change illegally getting to the US when he could/should have stayed in his own country and invested that into bettering his situation? As I said $45,000 is a lot of dough and it could have gone a much further way in India. BTW there are millions of people living in the United States of America that will never, ever have $45,000. Something is definitely not right with this story.

If you are bothered by the entitled language these illegals use just remember that they have been taught that “America belongs to the world” as one immigrant haughtily informed me. They see nothing wrong with breaking in here and helping themselves to whatever they can get. They are perfectly happy to leech off the American taxpayer and those Americans who helped and supported illegal immigration have themselves to blame for all the human misery suffered as a result.

The guy was an illegal immigrant. Discovered, arrested and returned where he belongs. Why did the author have to write a book including diagrams, pictures and intineraries for something so cut and dry??

Glad this guy didn't get to claim asylum under Biden. Now that he's home, he needs to spread the word not to come here.
