A town in North Carolina is doubling down on its earlier commitment to provide hurricane relief to local business owners based on race and sex.
Asheville, a town in western North Carolina that was devastated by Hurricane Helene, said in its 2024 Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery action plan, released this month, that the plan’s Small Business Support Program would “prioritize assistance for Minority and Women Owned Businesses (MWBE) within the scoring criteria outlined within the polices and procedures.”
In January, the Western North Carolina Citizens for Equality filed a complaint with the Treasury Department after Buncombe County, which includes Asheville, would “focus” on hurricane relief for “BIPOC” and “women” owned

Government racism and sexism like this is specifically ILLEGAL. DoJ should nail this city government to the wall, hold them liable for violating the constitutional rights of the other people to "equal treatment under the law"
80-100 years ago blacks were treated unequally in some places, probably in Asheville. It was wrong then.
And reverse racism is wrong today, and also illegal.

Asheville should probably relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

Re #2, the problem is that folks from NYC, NJ and probably Minnesota and Wisconsin, as you mentioned, moved to Asheville over the last 30+ years and wrecked the place.
Like Denver.
Like many other places. Folks leave their own rotten places and bring their destructive voting practices with them.

No surprise! Among residents of NC Asheville is known as "Berkley East" No joke. Ask your NC friends.

I have been a couple of times. Beautiful area. The Biltmore House is worth the trip. We walked to one downtown restaurant to get lunch, and it was all vegetarian or vegan. We quickly left to find a non woke one serving dishes with meat. Even in Asheville, I doubt it's still in business.

I can't imagine there are a lot of non-female minorities in the Asheville area, so this is, as per usual, an effort to help liberal white women. I know people always focus on the minority part, but even black people are starting to recognize that minority and women programs equal help for white women. Otherwise, why do they have to separate women and minorities? Think about it. Even DEI is more to help whyte wymyn.

Asheville is a hot bed of liberalism. Every college art major has an art shop of some kind selling their art. The restaurants employ many of the other useless college majors' recipients as waiters, and the hotels employ many as well. If you're lucky, you will get the opportunity to listen in on a conversation from some of the locals and they're OH SO CULTURED OPINIONS, concerning current events. Don't expect to hear the truth, just a rehash of the mass media.

The irony of Asheville -- and, yes, it is "Bezerkley East" -- is that it has attracted scores of cultural lefties based on nothing more than its foundational existence as place where Cornelius Vanderbilt, the railroad "robber baron" of the late 19th and early 20th century, built his residence suited for royalty at Biltmore. The people who populate Asheville today despise Vanderbilt, but love living off the legacy of his largesse.
100 years from now, I suspect a similar situation will recur in a small town near the border in Texas, where a guy named Musk will have built a castle-like residence in the previous century in the vicinity of his Space-X facility, and it will be populated by set of thankless left-wing cultural grifters on a par with those of present-day Asheville.

There's no such thing as reverse racism or reverse sexism.
Just racism and sexism. And this is it.
