A federal judge Monday denied an emergency motion from the Associated Press (AP) to restore its access to White House press pool events.
The AP made its motion in a suit filed in Washington against three White House officials, claiming the administration’s move violates the First Amendment.U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden, appointed by President Donald Trump during his first administration, denied the emergency motion from the AP but ordered expedited consideration of the matter by the court.

Sean Simpson is charged with the shooting murder of 16-year-old Zaquavious Dawkins last month in Gastonia, North Carolina. The alleged teen killer broke down in court, sobbing and screaming as he learned he would not be released on bail and will have to face the law as an adult. In three separate events in the Border Patrol’s Rio Grande Valley Sector, agents seized nearly 560 pounds of cocaine with an estimated street value of $18 million. Two seizures occurred at a fixed highway checkpoint after routine immigration inspections. The third seizure resulted from a roving patrol stop initiated by Border Patrol agents. The three seizures were reported within hours of each other on Sunday morning.

New York — Starbucks announced Monday it will lay off over 1,000 corporate workers and cut complex and unpopular drinks from its menu in an effort to turn around lagging sales and revamp the coffee chain.
Starbucks is cutting some Frappuccino blended drinks, Royal English Breakfast Latte and White Hot Chocolate as part of its effort to simplify operations and shrink its menu.
