As anticipated, President Donald Trump has ramped up his maximum pressure sanctions campaign on the Iranian regime. Trump was concerned that the Biden administration had softened the American approach to the oppressive theocratic regime, enabling it to increase its oil production revenues. Tehran’s oil exports brought in $53 billion in 2023 and $54 billion in 2022, according to US Energy Information Administration estimates, and output during 2024 was reckoned to be running at its highest level since 2018, based on OPEC data.

New York Attorney General Letitia James appeared outside of federal court in New York City on Friday to talk about a lawsuit that she and others Democrat attorneys general had filed against the Trump administration in regard to the actions of DOGE and access to information. James is trying to stand in the way of DOGE's effort to root out fraud, waste, and abuse. During her remarks, she spewed a bunch of things that weren't true. She claimed Elon Musk was a "private individual" who "no one elected," and "no one has allowed to have access" to this information.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on Thursday night didn’t rule out removing Mayor Eric Adams from office after allegations emerged that the feds would drop their criminal case against Hizzoner in exchange for his help with President Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.
Hochul, the only official in the state who has the power to boot Adams from his position, revealed on MSNBC that she’s consulting with officials about the mayor’s future.
The governor told host Rachel Maddow that she read a letter penned by now-former acting Manhattan US Attorney Danielle Sassoon that claimed Adams’ legal team offered a “quid pro quo” in hopes of seeing his federal charges get dismissed.

Former Manhattan US Attorney Damian Williams rushed to charge Big Apple Mayor Eric Adams – then grandstanded about the corruption case to further his own career, a top Justice Department official claimed Thursday.
In a searing memo to Williams’ successor Danielle Sassoon, Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove blasted Williams for “inappropriately politiciz[ing] and taint[ing]” the the historic case he filed against Adams in September.
He noted that Williams launched a personal website akin to a “campaign website” filled with puff-piece stories about his prosecutions of Adams and Sean “Diddy” Combs and penned a January op-ed in City & State New York titled,

His political career may be over — but his heart will go on.
Former Mayor Bill de Blasio revealed Thursday that he is in a new romantic relationship — with a raven-haired progressive pundit decades his junior, who shares his lefty views and his desire to “cuddle.”
The 63-year-old Democrat is romantically involved with liberal activist Nomiki Konst, 41, and plans to spend Valentine’s Day snuggling with her and sipping wine.“Nomi and I have started a really lovely relationship, just in time for Valentine’s Day. We’ve known each other for a long time and are very kindred souls,” he texted The Post — adding a red heart emoji.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth began a tour of Europe Tuesday, starting at the headquarters of US European Command at Patch Barracks in Stuttgart, Germany. The newly minted SecDef has a heavy schedule in front of him, inspecting US forces in Europe and dealing with his first meeting with NATO. He is obviously trying to move beyond the controversies associated with his confirmation. He is also trying to lead by example and reverse the cultural rot in the US military by force of will.

We’ve been reading so much about all the rampant waste in the federal government, from USAID to the Education Department to FEMA, that Elon Musk and DOGE continue to uncover at a staggering pace.
But sometimes you wonder, who are the beneficiaries of all this fraud and waste—where’s the money going? I mean, besides to terrorists, social justice warriors and the like.
Your questions may soon be answered. Grab the popcorn and fluff the couch pillows because Donald Trump told reporters at a briefing in the Oval Office Wednesday afternoon that he plans to name names at a press conference scheduled for Thursday. Responding to a reporter's question, he charged:

The Israeli hostages kidnapped by Hamas and other Palestinians on October 7, 2023 could have been released a long time ago had the Biden administration exerted pressure on Qatar to use its good relations with the Islamist group to force it to do so.
All Qatar had to do was to summon the Hamas leaders in Doha and give them an ultimatum to release all the hostages immediately or face deportation from the Gulf state. It is hard to see how the Hamas leaders would have been able to say no to their major political and financial patrons and backers.... The Qataris were never under the slightest pressure.

Yesterday, Dept of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem pointed a finger at the FBI for leaking the details of an ICE deportation sweep to the Los Angeles Times in order to tip-off criminal illegal aliens. Today, Tom Homan says, “Kristi Noem was correct, some of the information they are receiving leads to the FBI.”
During an interview tonight with Sean Hannity, Border Czar Homan also said the Acting Deputy AG is going to pursue criminal charges against the FBI leaker.

Pundits, pollsters, politicians, presidents, and prime ministers are still trying to make heads or tails of Trump’s groundbreaking proposal to turn the Gaza Strip into the French Riviera. The idea was so bold — so dramatically different — that the mind-hive had yet to reach a consensus: Was Trump actually, really serious about an American takeover of the Gaza Strip?!See, that’s the basic design flaw of mind-hives: If you catch ‘em at just the right moment, they’re like a deer in headlights. The body cannot move until the brain is reassembled.
So now, they’re politically paralyzed

A federal judge Friday evening refused to block the Labor Department from giving Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) access to confidential systems or firing employees for refusing to hand over the credentials.
U.S. District Judge John Bates found the plaintiffs hadn’t show enough injury to have legal standing to bring the lawsuit. “This data includes the medical and financial records of millions of Americans,” wrote Bates. “But on the current record, plaintiffs have failed to establish standing. So although the Court harbors concerns about defendants’ alleged conduct, it must deny plaintiffs’ motion at this time.”

On Thursday, it was revealed that a staffer who worked for the DOGE under Twitter/X owner Elon Musk had resigned after the Wall Street Journal made a White House inquiry about posts the staffer was allegedly linked to on the social media platform that claimed, among other things, that "I was racist before it was cool."According to the report, the account linked to 25-year-old Marko Elez, who worked for Musk in other roles prior to this one, also posted similar racially-charged messages in 2024:
