President Donald Trump has announced a reversal of energy efficiency standards from the Biden era that the Obama administration initially implemented. He intended to reinstate incandescent light bulbs and restore previous water pressure regulations. Trump has been vocal about opposing the ban on incandescent light bulbs, calling it "ridiculous" and arguing that it restricts consumer choice. The initiative seeks to provide consumers with more options and lessen government-imposed restrictions.

I dislike almost every other light besides incandescent lights. I have to search far and wide for incandescent bulbs and pay a higher price than I used to when they were made in America. I'm hoping that some American manufacturer will seize the opportunity and start producing these old-fashioned bulbs soon. The light is healthier than the others and is more soothing. I am mightily grateful to President Trump for picking up on what seems to be a minor issue, but actually one that effect a lot of people without their realizing it. i wonder if Bobby Kennedy has ever commented on the issue.

This sounds good, but I am a bit skeptical that there are many factories left in the world which make incandescent bulbs. And, I wonder if any bulb maker will rebuild a factory to make them.
I hope that I'm wrong.
I have a whole closet full of incandescent bulbs purchased at 59 cents each or less, when there were sales. The only ones I'd like to buy are the yard spotlight type, which I am running short on.

Sounds great right up until we get another Dem who makes them illegal. Congress NEEDS to write and enact laws that uphold Trumps EOs. EOs are great but can be undone. Everything Trump is doing via EOs needs laws to back them up so future Dems can't just undo them via EO. Future Dem Presidents will have to go through Congress to change anything written into law otherwise with the sweep of a pen great ideas will be undone.

I've done needle work most of my life. I'd sit at night with the TV on and sew away. Made tons of baby blankets and embroidered baby quilts. Then came the new fangled bulbs that claim to be as bright but cost less to use. No, they are not the same. They have never provided the light I needed no matter what their 'wattage.' Thank you President Trump. My eyes thank you, too.

This has always been, for me, the singular poster child for egregious governmental overreach.
The degree to which these electronic bulbs are useful is extremely limited, and the degree to which incandescent bulbs cause problems is minuscule.
It is ridiculous.
All it is, is a way to cow the population. It has nothing to do with anything else. It is purely political, in order to get control of people‘s hearts and minds.
Same with the water, pressure thing, same with the gas stove thing.
That’s it that’s all. Nothing else.

Ok choice is nice. Great.
When do I get the choice to buy a suppressor without ATF fees and 6 months waits?

Great! I refused to pay $10 for an LED bulb at Walmart, and have been doing without. Maybe I can buy lightbulbs again.

I like the leds. I dont notice any flicker and a color temperature of 5000 kelvin is nearly perfect white. If someone wants the incandescents thats fine, but the leds are my first choice nowadays.

Re #7, the wait on suppressor is down to about 48 hours with electronic filing. Cost is still $200 tax and fingerprints and photo, etc.

I believe that George W Bush is the one that banned the incandescent light bulbs, not Biden.

#2 gets to a major shortcoming in the overuse of EOs by recent administrations - they will keep jerking the country back and forth in legalities and regulatory bans every 4 to 12 years. It'll be impossible for society or industry to keep up.

I'm thinking GE sold their light bulb factories to China. I have been buying the old style light bulbs at Dollar Tree and Dollar General over the years.

Those LEDs have their uses....replacing Christmas tree lights that felt hot enough to set your tree on fire, small appliances, electronics etc. But I don't like them for regular home lighting. Leave the incandescents alone and let us choose for ourselves.

I really resent the liberal elites’ light bulb control. Liberals hide behind fake environmental policy objectives which are just a means to exercise control. With elitist democrats, control is the name of the game.

That's what I was hoping for. Years ago when incandescents were being phased out--first 100 watt bulbs, then 75, then 60--I would buy them every time I went to the grocery store. Now I possibly have a lifetime supply. Incandescent light is the best for reading at night. I hated those squiggly lights with the poisonous mercury inside. Horrible ideas. And yes, I believe it was GWB who did what he could to speed America into its planned "Green" future with his edicts on bad light bulbs and alcohol adulterating our gasoline. Undo it all. Bush ought to be ashamed of himself ... a really bad, thoughtless Republican who wanted that strange new respect.

Incandescent light bulbs and plastic shopping bags are small things, but I have always resented the goobermint ban on them. These bans were symbolic of the oppression and loss of freedom under the 0bama and Biden regimes. I felt it every time I had to buy light bulbs or go into a grocery store that required bring-your-own bags or charged for paper bags.

Me too, #5. In fact, I made a career out of it. The only light bulbs that work for me are the “daylight” bulbs made by Ott.
We stocked up on all kinds of incandescent bulbs just as #2 did, but I’m still glad that PDT is doing this.

YAAAAAY! Aside from their more attractive light, incandescent bulbs are cheaper to make and more environmentally friendly both to manufacture and to dispose of! Too bad it's too late for the American factories that had to shut down when the business was outsourced to China under that damn rule. And YAY for a shower that's not warm drool! And a washing machine that washes on the first go-round! MAKE AMERICA CLEAN AGAIN!
