The Washington Post caused a stir last Friday when it declared it would not be endorsing a presidential candidate in 2024 — asserting the paper was "returning to [its] roots," even while acknowledging that it had been over 50 years since it last declined to endorse in a presidential election.
This stunning announcement caused no shortage of consternation among the outlet's already dwindling readership, prompting thousands of readers to cancel their subscriptions in outrage and The Post's owner, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, to issue a lengthy, navel-gazing editorial on the rationale for not just endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris (when she clearly is their preferred candidate).

PHOENIX — Arizona's top prosecutor tells 12News she is investigating whether Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump violated state law by making a "death threat" against former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney during remarks Thursday night at an event in Glendale.
"I have already asked my criminal division chief to start looking at that statement, analyzing it for whether it qualifies as a death threat under Arizona's laws," Attorney General Mayes, a first-term Democrat, said during Friday's taping of "Sunday Square Off." "I'm not prepared now to say whether it was or it wasn't, but it is not helpful as we prepare for our election and as we try to make sure

The great election of 2024 is coming to a head, with only hours left until Election Day. So, where do things stand? Let's take a look at what is likely to be the last major tranche of presidential polls, just for laughs.
The RealClearPolitics averages of the battlegrounds are what I've been heavily leaning on all along in this race, so let's see where things stand. Thumbnail: There has been some tightening up of several of the races, which is typical at this point in the cycles. But Donald Trump is still leading Kamala Harris in five of the seven battlegrounds:
Arizona: Trump +2.3
Nevada: Trump +0.9
Wisconsin: Harris +0.3
Michigan: Harris +0.8

We've seen a lot of momentum going in the direction of former President Donald Trump in the last couple of weeks in the polls. In that time, he's even taken over the popular vote poll. He's now leading by 0.5 in the national vote, 48.5 to 48. He's also up 1.0 in the battleground states.
But there are a couple of interesting things to note, including a new shock poll from Echelon Insights, which is a well-thought of poll. The most interesting thing is what it has to say about Pennsylvania. It has Trump up by 6 points head to head with Harris, 52-46, and 5 points

Top House Republicans are coalescing behind the House Administration Committee’s subpoena of Democratic fundraising giant ActBlue.
Republicans have accused the company of having insufficient donor verification standards. Committee Chair Bryan Steil, R-Wis., has argued that the site is vulnerable to fraudulent and illegal foreign donations, though ActBlue has said it "rigorously protects donors’ security."
"ActBlue has a lot of explaining to do, and Chairman Steil is right to demand answers on these very serious allegations of foreign funds being funneled through the platform," Rep. Richard Hudson, R-N.C., chairman of House Republicans’ campaign arm, told Fox News Digital.

To start, I want to show you a post from CNN’s reconstituted media maven, Brian Stelter. He was speaking with a network honcho about the state of the media these days. Specifically, this top-flight media figure was outright declaring that the media has failed in its mission, given that half the country (according to polls) supports Trump. This is kind of staggering to see. Not that we do not believe this is how they have been behaving, but to see this admission coming from the top of a network shows the breadth of this effort. They see it as their mission to bring down Trump,

Vice President Harris could win the presidential election next week. But fingers in Democratic circles are already being pointed behind the scenes, in the event that she falls to former President Trump.
While some Democrats say they are increasingly hopeful that Harris will win, others have expressed mounting frustration about a string of factors that have plagued the campaign from the outset.
Fingers are being pointed at Harris and her campaign when it comes to disappointment over her messaging, particularly on the economy. But some Democrats have already looked to pin the blame on President Biden, who some think took too long to step aside.

Donald Trump responded Thursday to Mark Cuban’s statement on The View that he is never around “strong, intelligent women.”
Trump posted on Truth Social “I surround myself with the strongest of women” and that “all strong women, and women in general, should be very angry about this weak man’s statement.” Trump’s statement in full reads:
Mark Cuban, a really dumb guy, who thinks he’s “hot stuff” but he’s absolutely nothing, is now out there saying that I don’t surround myself with strong women. Actually, he is very wrong, I surround myself with the strongest of women – with the understanding that ALL women are great, whether strong or not strong.

WASHINGTON — White House press officials altered the official transcript of a call in which President Joe Biden appeared to take a swipe at supporters of Donald Trump, drawing objections from the federal workers who document such remarks for posterity, according to two U.S. government officials and an internal email obtained Thursday by The Associated Press.
Biden created an uproar earlier this week with his remarks to Latino activists responding to racist comments at a Trump rally made by the comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who referred to the U.S. island territory of Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage.”
Biden, according to a transcript prepared by the official White House stenographers

Former President Trump is suing CBS News over a “60 Minutes” interview it broadcast with Vice President Harris earlier this month that he and his allies have claimed was edited to cast her in a positive light.
The lawsuit, which seeks $10 billion in damages and was filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Texas alleges the network engaged in “partisan and unlawful acts of election and voter interference through malicious, deceptive, and substantial news distortion.” “To paper over Kamala’s ‘word salad’ weakness, CBS used its national platform on 60 Minutes to cross the line from the exercise of judgment in reporting to deceitful, deceptive manipulation

A new poll has found that former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are essentially tied among voters in the battleground state of Michigan.
The Washington Post poll of 1,004 registered voters reveals that Trump is leading Harris there 47% to 45%. Among that group, those who said they were likely to vote for Harris over Trump 47%-46%.
The poll was conducted Oct. 24-28 and has a margin of error of 3.7%. Of those who responded, six out of every 10 voters view the state of the economy negatively, according to The Washington Post.

The short answer is yes. But they don't yet understand what it means.
After years of watching trust in the news media slide down so much that POLITICIANS are now more trusted than journalists, it is dawning on executives and some journalists that people dislike them...they really really dislike them.
But they don't yet understand why. They see the distrust of Americans as an indictment of Americans. We are irredeemable, deplorable, Nazis, and garbage. That sentiment is not directed merely at Trump supporters; it's aimed at every dissenting voice regardless of ideology. It is of course aimed at conservatives in the main because support for Trump is proof positive
