Something is happening in California. After being screwed over by the Democrat Party on their promises of reparations, Black Californians are threatening to sit out 2024 or sabotage it for the Democrats; whether you believe that or not, it is unprecedented that this voting bloc has actually threatened to exercise their political power, albeit small, in this way. As RedState reported, Democrat State Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil decided to change her registration to the Republican Party. Political expediency? Probably, but again, a sure sign that the Democrat stronghold in the state is showing significant fractures. On Wednesday, the party was dealt another blow. Gloria Romero,

I personally don't like this business of Democrats 'switching' to the Republican Party. The Democrats had a known Klansman become Republican back in the sixties and used that as evidence thereafter that the KKK belonged to the Republicans. What is she bringing to the table? Seriously? My temptation is to tells her, "Get lost!" Especially someone who led that mess that is California today. I want no part of her!!

I respectfully disagree, #1. I happen to know several long-time Democrats who are switching because they truly see how far left the Democrats have gone. They're sincere in their decision, and I think it's a good sign that some of the country is waking up to the danger of staying with the Democrats.
This is a crucial election. We need every vote we can get.

She's only switching because the dems wouldn't pass a bill giving them more money to sit on their behinds and cry about being victims because of slavery, something no living black American was, especially not in Kalifornia. It's just more of the same, instead of $5 for your vote, they now want a fistful of money, which will be wasted and then they'll be back for more. It's Joe & Hunter on a different level, that's all.

Step by step, slowly but surely the political realignment continues. The Democrat Party continues to purge those who reject their Marxist agenda. She joins other lifelong Democrats who changed to the Republican Party. You know lifelong Democrats like Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump. Let's leave the light on.

Everyone has their limits.
The current Dem party is a walking disaster area.

So the Democrats, lied to you about reparations, and led you down the garden path, again.
As a response to this betrayal, you threaten to sit the 2024 election out or vote Republican, again.
They don’t follow through, and you don’t follow through. The result is a lot of hot air, but nothing happens.
It is said that insanity is doing the same thing again and again, and expect different results.
Suggestion: Try following through. You may like the results.

This is called expediency...hedge your bet...when you know a big change is coming...before I believe her...I'd like to see all her votes on matters affecting Californians...what is at the core of this switch...is it because everyone is sure President Trump will win..and she has to cover her posterior?...just a thought...WE welcome all new voters...but...WE are not stupid...

Idk. I really don't know if this is a good thing or bad. There've been former Dems who turned out being great for our country, like President Reagan and President Trump. But we already have a whole host of Rinos throughout the Republican Party from the federal to local level who haven't been nearly as beneficial to our country, to say the least.
On the one hand we need the votes, especially to offset the attempted steal everyone knows is coming. On the other hand, we may be saddled with a buncha McConnell, Romney, Collins, Cornyn clones who'll stab Conservatives in the back in a heartbeat. What a dilemma!

This is a biggie. Longtime Dem political leader. Latina. Female. Checks a lot of boxes.
I have long thought that all Dems could not tolerate what has been happening to our state and our country. Remember the Reagan Democrats - and Reagan himself who said "I didn't leave the party, .the party left me..."
The pendulu swing I've been waiting for?

Think this is less a show of support for Trump (he will never pass reparations) and more a stab in the back to the Democrats made out of spite. What's motivating her?
