A conservative nonprofit is suing the Department of Justice after it failed to release records requested under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) pertaining to Matthew Colangelo, a key figure in the New York criminal trial of former President Trump.
America First Legal (AFL) alleged in the lawsuit filed Monday that New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg – the lead official in Trump's prosecution – hired Matthew Colangelo in December 2022 to reportedly "jump-start" his office’s investigation of Trump, reportedly due to Mr. Colangelo’s "history of taking on Donald J. Trump and his family business."

Biden has clearly been struggling with nonwhite voters, and that’s a huge problem for Democrats when you consider that four-in-ten Democrat voters are nonwhite. But while his lead has softened among black and Hispanic voters, it’s his bleeding young voters that has to be most distressing for Democrats.
In swing states, which are the only states that matter in any presidential election, the vote tally in 2020 among voters under the age of 30 suggested a 23-point lead over Trump.

am really tired of hearing that Trump is a "threat to democracy." Democrats seem to be repeating this mantra endlessly. Actually, they are right, but you have to understand what they really mean. Let's make a distinction between two flavors of democracy:
democracy: rule by the people
“Democracy”: rule by Democrats, specifically by members of the Democratic party
Trump is truly a threat to “Democracy.” When Democrats make this claim, they really mean that he is a threat to their ascendancy, but they want you to think that they mean that he is a threat to rule by the people.

A Texas prosecutor asked the state's highest criminal court on Tuesday to reverse a pardon granted by Governor Gregg Abbott to a former U.S. Army sergeant convicted of murder and sentenced to prison for fatally shooting a Black Lives Matter protester. Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza, a Democrat whose office tried the murder case, said he asked the state Court of Criminal Appeals for a special order, called a writ of mandamus, to overturn Abbott's action. Garza told a news briefing that Abbott violated the separation of powers doctrine of the state's constitution and failed to follow proper legal procedures in the way he pardoned Daniel Perry last month.
The troubles at the liberal Washington Post are nothing new. The paper has lost millions over the last year and has even considered replacing journalists with AI bots.
Now things are getting even worse. Sally Buzbee, the executive editor is stepping down and the paper’s CEO recently held a meeting with the staff to inform them that people are not reading the content they are producing.
It is an election year and there is no shortage of news, but the Washington Post is flailing. What does that tell you?

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A man is in custody after Lincoln Police said he stole a StarTran bus driver’s backpack with $10,000 in cash inside on May 21.
Officers responded to StarTran on May 22 at 8:10 p.m. for a theft that occurred on a bus the day before.
According to LPD, a man, later identified as 69-year-old Vincent Whitemagpie, had stolen a bus driver’s backpack that contained $10,000 in cash and other items inside. He then got off the bus near 11th and N streets.
