As a boy growing up, I was taught that there are certain rules one adhered to during a physical fight with another boy. The first rule was that you and your friends never team up against a solitary enemy. That's what gangbangers do. (Snip) After witnessing the banana republic court spectacle in New York City this week, I ask our elected Republicans... have you seen enough? Are you going to continue lobbing limpwristed slaps at your enemy's shoulder as they continue to kick you below the belt? Are you still hiding behind the whole "civility" façade, which the Left abandoned decades ago?

Former New York Rep. Lee Zeldin reacted to the Trump verdict this week and released a statement reminding people who the real threat to democracy is in this case. It’s Joe Biden and the Democrats.
Zeldin points out what pretty much everyone knows. That Alvin Bragg ran on ‘getting’ Trump for something, anything really.
Zeldin published his statement on Twitter. [Tweet]
Townhall has transcribed parts of the copy:
This case should have never been brought forward in the first place. This political persecution, designed to interfere with the 2024 election, was a disgusting abuse and weaponization of the criminal justice system. This ruling is obviously going to be overturned on appeal,

There are some folks on CNN who sometimes seem to hit upon a little truth in their analysis.
One is data analyst Harry Enten, who has been reporting on the big problems with Joe Biden's campaign.
The other is legal analyst Elie Honig, who has not been shy in calling out the problems in the Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg's case against former President Donald Trump. That's particularly interesting since he used to be a colleague of Alvin Bragg's when they both worked for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, and he calls Bragg a friend.

Former Democrat presidential primary candidate Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) is pressing New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) to pardon former President Donald Trump because “making him a martyr” would result in an “electoral boost.”
“Donald Trump is a serial liar, cheater, and philanderer, a six-time declarer of corporate bankruptcy, an instigator of insurrection, and a convicted felon who thrives on portraying himself as a victim,” Phillips said in a Friday X post following Trump’s conviction in his hush money trial.
“@GovKathyHochul should pardon him for the good of the country,” the congressman argued. [Tweet]

The horrific assault on our Republic that resulted in 34 (!!) felony convictions of former president Donald Trump has reverberated across the nation. The blight on our nation caused by every Democrat who has had a hand in the banana republic disgrace of an American president being paraded around in a clown court, a Soviet-style show trial, makes a mockery of the very foundations of this (once?) great country. Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) is spear-heading a campaign among U.S. senators to stop cooperating with the corrupt Biden administration on legislative matters that do not directly affect the American people.

Democrats and the Biden administration “cooked up these prosecutions” against former President Donald Trump to distract from President Joe Biden’s failures, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) said during an appearance on Breitbart News Saturday, warning that he does not believe this will be “good for them” — the Democrats — in the end.
“The whole idea of this thing is they don’t want to talk about inflation. They don’t want to talk about the border. They don’t want to talk about war all over the world because it’s a disaster, and Biden doesn’t want to take responsibility for it,” Vance, a possible Trump running mate, said.

New Dallas Mavericks owner and casino tycoon Miriam Adelson has confirmed her backing for Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign by pledging to be a primary financier for the Preserve America super PAC.
This continues the legacy she and her late husband, Sheldon Adelson, established as prominent donors in Republican political circles. During the 2020 election cycle, the couple generously donated $90 million to the super PAC that supported Trump.
Adelson, whose net worth hovers around a staggering $29.5 billion, has decisively ended her neutrality from the Republican primaries, choosing instead to throw her considerable financial weight behind Trump’s campaign.

Former President Donald Trump joins a growing list of world leaders convicted after leaving office, with many critics in the U.S. claiming that such measures hurt the country’s image as a global leader. A New York City court found Trump guilty of falsifying business documents related to payments made to Michael Cohen, who had paid porn actress Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election. World leaders largely offered restrained comment on the verdict, but some of Trump’s closest allies criticized the decision and urged him to "keep fighting.”

President Joe Biden claimed Friday that he personally had nothing to do with former President Donald Trump’s recent guilty verdict.
Approached by Fox News’ Peter Doocy outside the White House, he was first asked whether he believed Trump’s conviction might aid him in the upcoming presidential election.

According to reports, Trump raised over $53 million within the first 24 hours after his conviction Thursday.
Doocy then asked Biden whether he’s worried about turnabout.

In January 1924, the consummate communist, having blighted as many lives as he could in his two years of rule, finally shuffled off his mortal coil, aged fifty-three. “That was young,” you may say. We are in uncharted waters. Donald Trump is a convicted felon. The whole thing is perverse.
The American brand has been dragged through the mud, sunk to the level of a banana republic where rulers take their political enemies out to the jungle to disappear.
This great nation now stands diminished in the eyes of international investors. And the economic consequences for ordinary Americans could be dire. No doubt, this sordid trial – brought by partisan Democratic prosecutors in Manhattan – has already done serious damage to America's credibility.

A jury of shills rather than a jury of peers found Donald Trump guilty of 34 counts of … what were the crimes again? Doesn’t matter. The Democrats got the verdict they were looking for. And it wasn’t justice on their minds. They wanted retribution. They wanted to hang an anchor around Trump’s neck during the campaign. They wanted the equivalent of a political execution.
They got it all.
Yet they still want more.
The Democratic Party is now officially the party of Stalin. Its operatives and functionaries have long tilted much closer to Sovietism than Adam Smith and Thomas Jefferson. Today they have fallen fully into the arms of Uncle Joe.

I know I’ll never forget where I was when I heard about his conviction. I knew I’d remember it forever, just as I did when I first heard about 9/11, Neil Armstrong walking on the moon, President Kennedy’s assassination or the Soviet Union breathing its last. After years of trying — in the words of the judge — “to get the damned rascal in this court,” it was a conviction that many welcomed.
But those words were not from Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, and the conviction was not that of former President Donald Trump.
Rather they were from US Supreme Court Justice Samuel Chase, at the end of the 18th century, when America embraced political prosecutions to target critics and opponents.
The man on trial then was James T. Callender, a muckraking writer critical of President John Adams.
For accusing politicians of corruption, Callender was charged with sedition, fined $200 and put in prison.

If Joe Biden is re-elected following this outrage, he will be an illegitimate president. What does that mean? It means, I think, that no one should be obliged to follow his executive orders. Long before Donald Trump's hush-money trial concluded, I predicted that his conviction was a forgone conclusion – despite the obvious weakness of the case against him.
Had the prosecution been brought in another part of the country, or even in another part of New York State, which was more fairly balanced with anti and pro-Trump voters, I am in little doubt that the outcome would have been different.
But instead, on Thursday, Trump became the first former president to be found guilty of a crime – convicted on all 34 flimsy counts of 'falsifying business records.'

Following the guilty verdicts against Trump in the sham trial in New York City, radio host Mark Levin, who served as chief of staff to former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese, has sound legal advice for Trump: get the case out of New York and to the U.S. Supreme Court as soon as possible.
Trump will most certainly appeal his conviction, but an appeal within the New York court system likely won't happen before the election. There's always the possibility that Judge Juan Merchan, a Biden donor who basically was a puppet of the prosecution, may, in fact, sentence Trump to prison before the election.
