Biden’s $7.5 Billion EV Charger Plan

At a Rose Garden event this week, President Joe Biden bragged that “Thanks to my Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we’re building a network of 500,000 charging stations all across America.” This is about as believable as the story of his uncle’s cannibalistic demise. The truth is that Biden’s five-year, $7.5 billion effort to jump-start the development of electric vehicle charging stations is doing the opposite. The money has so far produced only eight new charging stations in two years. The overall growth rate in EV charging stations has slowed since he signed that bill. And earlier this month, Tesla gutted its EV charger efforts,

Real EV market is restricted to, as such, of virtue signaling for brats of rich, woke Liberals. Under current technology and prices it has little practical value for real people with real needs. My fear is that the current regime will make it difficult and costly to own and operate a gasoline powered vehicle misusing and abusing their power. The damage that will do to the economy, livelihoods and conveniences of ordinary living is immense.

So where did all the 7.5 billion dollars in taxpayers money go? Besides that, the criminal element is reportedly selling the copper wiring out of the EV chargers that are out there, and are selling the copper for three dollars a pound.

How many charging stations have been built for electric semis? Zero. You still plan to go all electric by 2030? If so, you are already late. You will break the supply chain even more than it already is if you continue with this. Trucks are part of the supply chain. How much will it cost? Oh, never mind. You don't have the money anyway. Btw, adding to the debt is not really an option. We are already seeing the consequences of our debt in terms of inflation. Our government does not talk about it, but they are rapidly running out of options with regard what they can do. It has basically run out of money.

Did all the money get spent? If so, then the program succeeded in spectacular fashion! It has transferred $7,500,000,000 from the pockets of the American Taxpayers to the pockets of the Leftist Bureaucrats. THAT was the purpose. If a few charging stations were constructed, that is immaterial.

The best place to install charging stations would be at restaurants, including both fast food and sit downs. It takes time to charge a vehicle and I would expect people would rather sit down for a meal on long trip than spend their time wandering around a gas station "convenience" store.

The latest New York Times poll looks like an absolute disaster for Joe Biden. But not just because he is far behind Donald Trump in most of the battleground states. What’s really interesting is the fact that these findings are a repudiation of Biden’s entire presidency. The Times poll shows Donald Trump leading Biden by substantial margins in Arizona (up seven points), Georgia (up 10 points), and Nevada (up 12 points). Trump is also up by three points in Pennsylvania and seven in Michigan. The only battleground state where Biden does better is Wisconsin, up by just two points. But notice the difference between Sun Belt states and those in the Midwest.

Who should be Donald Trump’s vice presidential running mate? Though no one yet knows who it will be, many people seem to have an opinion about whom it should be. It’s a long list of possible names for the increasingly important vice presidential job, as the latest I&I/TIPP Poll indicates. As part of our monthly national online poll, taken from May 1-3, we asked 538 Republicans, and those who lean that way, two questions about who they preferred as Trump’s vice president. The poll has a margin of error of +/-4.3 percentage points. First we asked a straightforward question: “Who is your top choice for Trump’s vice president?”

Google has come in for some well-deserved criticism after its “artificial intelligence” wouldn’t answer a simple question: How many Jews did the Nazis kill? That’s bad enough. But then a not-so-intelligent Google employee compounded the problem with a lie about why it happened. The story goes that Michael Apfel asked a Google “virtual assistant” this question: “Hey Google, how many Jews were killed by the Nazis?” Google’s answer: “Sorry, I don’t understand.” Then he asked: “How many Jews were killed during World War II?”

"They have the money to spend.” — President Joe Biden Those of us who’ve been around a while remember when the press made an epic deal out of President George H.W. Bush’s apparent amazement at an ordinary grocery store checkout scanner. It turns out the story was a complete media fabrication, but it fed the narrative that Bush was hopelessly out of touch, and it helped cost him his reelection. This week, Joe Biden actually did do something that shows he is perhaps the most clueless president in American history. In a softball interview this week, CNN’s Erin Burnett let Biden carry on — uninterrupted — with his usual litany of lies.

President Joe Biden has a tenuous lead over lawfare-challenged former President Donald Trump, but continues to show weakness among key voting groups that he needs to win a second term in office, the latest numbers from the May I&I/TIPP Poll show. The national online I&I/TIPP Poll, taken from May 1-3, included 1,264 responses to a number of questions about the upcoming 2024 presidential election. The poll’s margin of error is +/-2.8 percentage points. Our main question was to ask registered voters about a straight, head-to-head matchup between Biden and Trump. More specifically, voters were asked to choose among Biden, Trump, “not sure” “other” and “prefer not to answer” as possible responses.

California Democrats who pushed through the state’s punitive new minimum wage must be feeling mighty proud about now. Not only are fast-food joints closing or replacing low-end employees with overseas workers and robots, now the law is costing the very people it was supposed to help while decimating consumers’ wallets. Well done! The $20-an-hour wage floor foisted on California’s fast-food restaurants, dubbed with the innocent-sounding moniker Assembly Bill 257, was signed into law last fall. It didn’t take long to become a disaster. Hoover Institution senior fellow and economist Lee Ohanian showed just how quickly bad policies can wreck an economy. Let’s say tomorrow, or in 10 years or even 15, that by some feat of magic that wind and solar could fully power the global economy. We could then stop extracting oil and the natural gas that’s a byproduct of drilling. Right? No, it wouldn’t work that way – because it can’t. Even in a world that ran entirely on renewable energy, it would still be necessary to drill for crude. Why? Because of, as Dustin Hoffman’s character Benjamin Braddock was told 1967’s “The Graduate,” plastics. “There’s a great future in plastics,” Mr. McGuire, a family friend, told Ben at his college graduation party.

The majority of the cases — 72 percent — were among unvaccinated people, the CDC said. The report cites overcrowding at the center for the rampant spread, with 500 people said to be crammed into a single room.
