An alderwoman on Chicago’s city council has called America a “garbage society” and believes it is “racist” to hold criminals accountable for their crimes. Rossana Rodriguez advocates for defunding police and wants children to be taught critical race theory as she takes part in the council’s Education and Child Development committee. The council member rails against society on her social media accounts and has denounced America as “a White supremacist society and system” that “favors White people.” A member of the Chicago Democratic Socialist Caucus and the council’s Progressive Reform Caucus, Rodriguez – who fittingly worked as a drama teacher after growing up in Puerto Rico –

I don’t know whether logic has anything to do with this person’s morality, but here goes. Would you be ok prosecuting a white person who is a criminal? If no, then prosecuting criminals can’t be racist since no one at all would be prosecuted- race wouldn’t figure into it. If yes, then you’re saying only nonwhites commit crimes and therefore it is racist to prosecute, which is a racist idea you are thinking. If you say that only nonwhites are actually prosecuted and therefore prosecution is racist, that is demonstrably false. Whites are prosecuted every day, eg, Trump.

Ms Rodriguez is receiving punishment enough for her display of stupidity simply by living in Chicago. As a comparison, Puerto Rico is completely corrupt, crime ridden worse than any US city and normally runs about 50% unemployment. Thanks to the generous support of the white citizens from America that she hates, they continue to survive or the island would be another Cuba.

Slapping the "racist" label on criminal punishment is meant to make us think of punishing criminals as wrong. But punishing criminals is a necessary means of thwarting criminal activities. Keep calling good things "racist", and eventually that word becomes synonymous with "good". Only complete idiots believe that you can change the reality of something by using a different word to refer to it.

Officials are pointing the finger at climate change as a Texas town battles with another spring of exploding mosquito populations. "If you open the car door to go somewhere, you’ve got 10 mosquitoes inside," Mith Varley, a resident of the Houston suburb of Conroe, Texas, said of the issue, according to a report in the Washington Post. Varley, who has lived in the area of Montgomery County for nearly 10 years, told the Washington Post he has never seen it worse. While the area of Texas has always been known as an ideal mosquito habitat,

'Insurrectionists who stormed the capitol with Confederate flags are called patriots by some,' Biden told the seniors, graduating from the historically black, all-male institution. 'Not in my house.' Trump often refers to his supporters who ramsacked the Capitol by that term. 'Black police officers, black veterans, protecting the Capitol were called another word as you recall,' Biden continued. The walls came tumbling down Thursday on some of the mendacious narratives the American public has been force-fed during and after the COVID pandemic about gain of function research and the origins of the virus. Although Sen. Who would be at the top of the ticket? Would they actually skip over Kamala Harris if they swapped Biden out? First of all, I still find it highly unlikely that Joe Biden won't be on the ticket, barring (God forbid) natural causes. It’s getting harder and harder to pretend the war in Ukraine, now in its third year, is about “defending democracy,” as our political elites in Washington insist. This is especially true when Secretary of State Antony Blinken shows up in Ukraine to deliver billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund the war, proclaims that Ukraine’s scheduled presidential elections this spring are canceled until “conditions allow” (Ukraine has not held elections since 2019), and then jaunts off to a popular Kyiv nightclub to play a boomerish cover of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World.” That actually happened this week.

COVID-19, which killed 1.1 million Americans and destroyed the lives and livelihoods of millions more, is a manmade virus that escaped from a Chinese lab partly funded by the US government. Even today, you’re not supposed to say that — even though it’s the only plausible scenario. No, “fact checkers” will rush in to claim that eminent scientists deny this. Which is because those scientists have too much invested — in money, in time, in their own beliefs — to admit the truth. But as Congress continues to probe, that truth is coming out, little by little, and the lies are being exposed:

Hertz is unloading 30,000 used cars on the market. The mileage might not be the lowest, but they're all 2022 or newer and lovingly maintained by the company's team of professional mechanics. While most used-car prices remain sky-high, the prices on these gently used babies is shockingly low. There's just one catch: they're all Teslas. Hertz, you might have read, came out of bankruptcy a couple of years ago and placed a big bet on electric vehicles. The rental firm had originally planned to buy no fewer than 100,000 EVs for their fleet but ended up with quite a bit fewer at 30,000 — almost all of them Teslas.

The anti-Israel uprisings at colleges across the country have featured violence (from both sides), vandalism, unlawful occupations known as “encampments,” and many other acts that go well beyond free speech. And now, at the University of Michigan, this radical protest movement just crossed the line into dangerous new territory. This week, agitators reportedly showed up at the homes of University of Michigan Board of Regents members in the middle of the night, invading their private property. They chanted on their lawns and brought with them fake corpses, faux bloodied sheets, and lists of demands, including, bizarrely, completely unrelated desires such as “defunding the police.”
