Donald Trump says Arizona's 1864 abortion

Former President Donald Trump said Arizona has gone too far after the state's top court upheld a near-total abortion ban dating back to1864. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Mr Trump said he thought the ban would quickly be "straightened out". The law bars abortion from conception, except to save a mother's life. His remarks come two days after he released a statement saying abortion rights should be left to US states, sending a mixed signal. In the video statement posted on his social media platform Truth Social, Mr Trump also took credit for the US Supreme Court's 2022 ruling that overturned Roe v Wade, the landmark decision that protected

Correct reply: "It goes further than I would, but that's a state issue, and I'm not a resident of that state, so I don't get a vote." Interleaved with, "It doesn't go as far as I would, but that's a state issue, and I'm not a resident of that state, so I don't get a vote."

It’s up to the Arizona legislature to change that law if they see fit and bring the Arizona abortion laws into the modern age.

Our ultimate responsibility and obedience is to the laws of God, regardless of whatever man’s opinions & laws may be. We used to know that, and take it into consideration, as the Arizona law of 1864 indicates. There is a reason America is suffering right now. There was a time when the prophets of God warned the people of the consequences of their actions. Oddly enough, some paid false prophets to tell them what they wanted to hear instead. Today we are accountable to the revealed & written word of God. Human nature hasn’t changed. We’re demanding that our politicians tell us what we want to hear, if they want our votes. People want to be told that it’s okay to murder our babies, & to be given laws that make it “legal”, despite what God has said. Isaiah warned the ancients of coming Assyrian and Babylonian captivity in a society of people whose sinful self serving attitudes weren’t so different from ours today, in many ways. Those things were written for our spiritual learning. The invaders have breached our borders with the aid of our government. We are surrounded by growing signs of impending disaster for our nation. Some people seem determined to learn the hard way. What makes them think the consequences of our continued rejection of the will of God will be different from other sinful nations before US who did the same? It won’t.

I'm thinking that this law was made in 1864 because the butchers killed as many mothers as they did children in those days. Brothels were one of the roaring businesses in the west and the gold rush days. Now they only kill children - much better, right?

What's the story behind the story? Who dug and dug and dug to find this Civil War ruling? Was it done to do political harm? Why not uphold this ban 1 year ago? 3 years ago? 10 years ago? It's only 160 years old.

Bidenomics Update: Staggering Under the
Weight of It All

My last post yesterday was kind of a quick, one-day-news-tour around the wreckage #Bidenomics has left strewn across the American landscape. To wit, the inflation pressures, employment pressures, and unending social reengineering pressures. Being subject to the progressive grifting regime has not been beneficial in the least for the country's psyche, soul, or security, either safety or financial. One tidbit that dropped yesterday, which I only bumped up against, was the explosion of credit card delinquencies. In this Biden induced time of wage stagnation and job insecurity coupled with exploding household costs, it's not really surprising when even formerly comfortable people are feeling the pinch.

Thirty percent of black men and 11 percent of black women intend to vote for former President Donald Trump in 2024, Wall Street Journal polling found Thursday, which is a significant increase from 2020 data. Losing black support would be a blow to President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign. Only 12 percent of black men voted for Trump in 2020, voting data shows. There is no compatible 2020 polling for black men. In 2020, six percent of black women said they would vote for Trump, Associated Press polling found, five points less than the Journal‘s 2024 polling. In more good news for Trump,

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) on Wednesday explained his apparent flip-flop on a controversial surveillance law, saying that he now favors limited reforms after receiving a classified briefing. Speaker Johnson was asked by reporters why he changed his opinion on reforming Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), a controversial surveillance law that is meant to target foreign adversaries, but often surveils Americans’ communications without a warrant. Johnson this week came out against a warrant requirement for Section 702 and moved not to allow an amendment that would have barred intelligence and law enforcement agencies from purchasing Americans’ private information through third-party data brokers. During a Senate budget hearing on Wednesday, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) asked Mayorkas if it is a fact “that the number of illegal immigrants that you and the president allow into our country counts for congressional district reapportionment?” Mayorkas initially responded, saying “I’m not sure I understand your question but I can surely share with you that I disagree with its phrasing.”

Tensions surrounding a potential Iranian attack on Israel appeared to reach new heights Thursday as the Israeli military said it was fully prepared for an incoming strike and as multiple international actors warned Tehran against a major assault on the Jewish state. Israel is “on alert and highly prepared for various scenarios, and we are constantly assessing the situation,” IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Perhaps the most worrisome news of the day is the Iranian threat to launch a massive drone and missile attack against Israel. Up to this time, Iran has worked with considerable effect through its proxies, principally the Houthis in Yemen, Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, and — if it is not too far-fetched to suggest — Iran’s increasingly reliable proxy outrider the United States of America under the feckless and incompetent Joe Biden. Like his mentor Obama before him, Biden is one of Israel’s most consistent and determined critics and, judging from his betrayal of Israel at the United Nations, a capricious and untrustworthy ally as well.

Arizona’s Democrat Attorney General says she will not enforce an 1864 law that was upheld by the state Supreme Court on Tuesday banning nearly all abortions. “The decision made by the Arizona Supreme Court today is unconscionable and an affront to freedom. Make no mistake, by effectively striking down a law passed this century and replacing it with one from 160 years ago, the Court has risked the health and lives of Arizonans,” Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes (pictured above) said in a statement. “The Arizona Court of Appeals decision, which the Supreme Court has struck down [on Tuesday], was well reasoned and aligned with how courts harmonize different legislation.”

Idaho Governor Brad Little signed House Bill 538 on Monday. This means that Idaho school districts will soon have to remove any requirements that teachers use the preferred pronouns of transgender students. The legislation enacts protections for public employees, including teachers, who are unwilling to use someone's preferred name and pronouns. Idaho Statehouse Republicans overwhelmingly supported it. Teachers will no longer be allowed to refer to a student by a name or pronoun that doesn't match their birth sex unless the teacher has parental consent. Teachers have the right to sue their school district if they are disciplined for refusing to use a transgender student's preferred name or pronoun.
