I think it's good that the MSM is trying to discourage their followers from moving to Florida. I hope they are 100% successful!

FTA: “Abortion restrictions have become very unpopular since Roe v. Wade was overturned and are a source of repeated Democratic overperformance at the ballot booth.” No, they aren’t. Democrat (not Democratic) “overperformance” is due to one thing, and one thing only, and it’s not abortion.

His own luxury restaurants, meanwhile, are paying their workers less. Active job listings for Newsom's PlumpJack Cafe, which touts its status as "Lake Tahoe's premier dining destination," advertise "busser," "host," "server," and "food runner" positions with $16 hourly wages. The restaurant is located steps from Palisades Tahoe—California's top ski resort—and features a full bar, fine wines including a $5,300 bottle of Burgundy, and high-priced entrees.

Claims made by global consulting firm McKinsey that diversity, equity and inclusion policies (DEI) increase a company’s profitability don’t hold water, according to a Monday report from Econ Journal Watch (EJW). McKinsey published several studies in 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2023 — often titled along the lines of “Diversity Matters,” or “Diversity Wins” — claiming that there is a statistically significant positive relationship between a company’s financial performance and the percentage of racial and ethnic diversity among its executives, according to EJW. EJW could not produce such findings when conducting its own version of such a study, calling into question the quality of McKinsey’s methods

On Easter Sunday a magistrate judge in El Paso, Texas, ordered the release of migrants who were charged with rioting after a large group stormed the border, tearing down razor wire and clashing with members of the Texas National Guard in the process. Presiding Magistrate Judge Humberto Acosta delivered the ruling after accusing the El Paso District Attorney’s office of failing to prepare properly and thus not being ready and “not being ready to proceed with detention hearings for each defendant,” The El Paso Times reported on Sunday. “It is the ruling of the court is that all the rioting participation cases will be released on their own recognizance,” Acosta said,

Michelle Obama has never expressed any interest in running for president and this month her office made clear that was fully behind Joe Biden's run for reelection. Yet the idea that the former first lady could be plotting to parachute in as an alternative to the 81-year-old president and rescue the Democratic Party won't die. Perhaps until now. An exclusive Partners poll shows she would do no better in a hypothetical match-up against Donald Trump than Biden would. Our poll of 1000 likely voters found that she would lose to the former president by three points in a hypothetical match-up.

The Sacramento City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to declare the California capital a “sanctuary city for transgender people.” The resolution, which takes effect immediately, ensures that no city resources will be used to criminalize trans people seeking transition-related care or to cooperate with jurisdictions seeking to enforce laws that criminalize the care elsewhere. It comes as conservative lawmakers across the country have enacted laws to limit both surgical and nonsurgical forms of gender-affirming care for minors — including puberty blockers and hormone replacement therapy — within the last handful of years.

A bird flu pandemic could be '100 times worse than Covid' and kill up to half of everyone it infects, experts have warned — as the White House says it is 'monitoring' the situation. Speaking at a briefing, virus researchers said the H5N1 strain of bird flu may now be getting 'dangerously close' to triggering a pandemic. Multiple cases of the infection in a variety of mammals, including cows, cats and, more recently, humans, are all raising the risk of the virus mutating to become more transmissible, they said.

I was born in the 1960s, just about the time people decided it was bad for children to be born. Oh, I don’t take it personally. It’s just people started to worry about a “population explosion.” Thanks to antibiotics, vaccines, mosquito eradication and better farming, people weren’t dying off as they had been. But they were still having babies. This led to more people. And quite a few folks — themselves already born — thought that was bad. The most famous is Stanford’s Paul Ehrlich, an entomologist whose bestselling book about people, “The Population Bomb,” promised the Earth a grim Malthusian fate, only a decade or so away. Two of Iran's most senior military commanders were killed – Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' (IRGC) elite Quds Force, and Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, a deputy commander in the Quds Force. Israel has not commented on the strike but is widely believed to be responsible having carried out numerous strikes similar to this one in the region. But Iran has warned that the US must also be held accountable despite the fact Washington has said it played no role in the attack.
