Can Texas Stop Soros From Taking Over
Conservative Radio?

Mornings in Northeastern Pennsylvania start on WILK-FM with ‘The Bob Cordaro Show’ described as “convincingly conservative, lovingly logical, proudly and passionately patriotic and reliably right”. And then eventually other conservatives, including Ben Shapiro, come on the air. But that may be about to change. WILK is one of a number of Pennsylvania stations owned by Audacy (five in Philadelphia alone), the second largest radio broadcaster in America and it, along with over 200 radio stations across the country, is about to fall into the hands of George Soros in time for the 2024 election..

Look at the debacle that Air America was. Then just hope that Soros has thrown away millions on a concept that Americans have already judged progressive (regressive) radio to be a disaster.

Audacy was bankrupt for a reason...AM radio was a low income business until Rush Limbaugh, he made it a profitable powerhouse Nationwide, with nationwide syndicated "Stars". The ONLY person I would be willing to tune in for anymore is Mark Styen, and he is not on the air, anywhere. There is enough small towers with nearly NO Income, that even in those areas Soros takes over a station, it won't cost much for someone else to rent another dial spot if they had/have a ready audience and a good ad sales team. Young Lefty's are not likely to tune in to am, they have phone aps that play through their cars or ipods, Old Lefty's will stay with NPR. Hopefuly this will just suck a couple Billions out of Soros's coffers. Car manufacturers are starting to not even OFFER AM radios anymore...let alone have them standard in every vehicle. It might be interesting to see if someone could market a "Vintage Rush" station package, maybe a best of, maybe a matched date from days gone by. "Today in History" sort of thing.

AM has been dying for years. The number of people who listen to AM via real AM antenna is small and shrinking. Everything today is over the net. Podcasts, YouTube videos, live streams on services of all sorts. If Soros wants to give charity to the AM radio station owners, more power to him. It's not the 90s anymore.

Yeah. Fill the airwaves with libs. Watch the ratings drop. They may stay on the air, but no one listens. It's like the story we were taught in marketing class. Company has a great idea for a new dog food. Does focus groups, etc. With dog owners and expect to sell well. Initial sales exceed expectations, but resale falls dramatically. They found out the dogs hated the food.

KRLD in Dallas is one of the buckles in the best of this Audacity deal-- Radio is a very ad effective way to spread a message as well as News, Weather and Traffic safety information. It is invaluable to the public's interest, and a quick and easy way to get information out to the masses. This must be stopped before people get the impression that those factual pieces of information take a back seat to politically-driven brainwashing attempts to change attitudes due to the back and forth of TALK RADIO which must at all costs be squelched.

Thanks for the heads up #4 I definitely will tune in. I miss Rush and the two guys in his timeslot just don't cut it. Then there's the yammering putz Hannity. I can no longer stomach him. Don't get me started on that doofus Brian Kilmeade who comes on at 10am. All of my favorite hosts have either retired, died, gone on to do tv or got replaced by lesser talent. So, talk radio just isn't worth it anymore.

If you had told the average person that an anarchist or an airman had set himself on fire to protest Israel’s campaign against Islamic terrorists, you would get two very different reactions. Unsurprisingly the media led with the data point most likely to produce a favorable reaction. And Aaron Bushnell cynically played the same game, wearing (the wrong) uniform to his Hamas suicide attempt rather than the Antifa red in which he had been previously photographed. The Washington Post gets around to admitting that Bushnell was an “anarchist”. [SNIP] But the Washington Post then misleadingly suggests he was raised in a Christian cult.

The New York Times proudly announced last Monday that it had “won three George Polk awards, including two for its coverage of the Israel-Hamas war.” Those prestigious journalism awards went to “Samar Abu Elouf and Yousef Masoud of The Times” for “photojournalism for their photographs of the conflict from inside Gaza, capturing the horrific toll of Israel’s airstrikes on civilians, including the death and injury of many children.” The Times neglected to mention, however, one telling detail: Masoud has been unmasked as a member of Hamas who participated in the Oct. 7 jihad massacres inside Israel.

Popular streaming service Hulu is facing backlash over its local ad placement policies after it prevented a Texas Church from running an advertisement on its platform. Hulen Street Church in Fort Worth, Texas, was told by Disney-owned Hulu that it could not run a 22-second video to advertise the start of a new Thursday night service because it qualifies as 'religious indoctrination.' It is the most recent controversy that Hulu has been involved in, as the platform is facing fury over its policies that have restricted ads on abortion and guns while allowing anti-terrorist group Hamas content.

France has deported a Tunisian cleric who allegedly called the country's flag satanic. His deportation last Thursday is seen as a demonstration of tough immigration laws brought in by president Emmanuel Macron. The American Journal of Public Health published its findings. Rates of exposure were significantly higher in New England and in the East South Central region (Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee) than in other parts of the nation, the Rand Corporation said. Additionally, 13% said that an overdose loss has disrupted their lives, and 4% said the death of a loved one had "a significant or devastating effect that they still feel."
