“Many European leaders concede that he basically has a point”, The Times of London said in a rare concession to Donald Trump over his NATO comments that prompted pearl-clutching outrage by some.
European leaders reacted to Donald Trump’s comments on NATO over the weekend — in which he laid out his frustration at member states refusing to pay their way and yet still expecting full protection from America’s military might and hence the U.S. taxpayer — in two ways, a report in The Times reflected. Not a newspaper particularly friendly to the 45th President, the British broadsheet noted that some reacted with “sheer horror”, like Spain’s Josep Borrell,

I predict that Trump will be POTUS again-and when he is, I hope he cuts off all funding for NATO and the U.N. Nothing but backstabbing grifters and liars and spies. How I would love to see the UN evited from their lair in Manhattan.

Conflict with Russia could last decades, eh? That would be great news for your pocket book, Comrade NATO Chief.

You know the comments he made Saturday were concerning what he told them as President. They took him seriously! The person from Europe in charge of NATO said he had great respect for his leadership in getting countries to pay up!

Again..."some people" are forced to concede the "Great Doctor, but lacking in bedside manners" truths about Trump.
It certainly helps in that Russia's moves on Ukraine that took place as soon as he was gone, and Biden conceitedly flew in to announce "America is Back", and euro noticed that THEY were not in any position to do ANYTHING about it.
Also noteworthy that at least some recognize that, of necessity, America's gaze/focus is and will be drawn elsewhere.
Though they do mention the Middle and far east...they perhaps under mention central/south America(as does american media)
USA is currently having to contend with fully 20% of Venezuela's population(mainly fighting age men) invading across it's own southern border, thence flooding into it's heartland cities, while at the same time the actual armed forces of Venezuela threatening to take over/invade/conquer the essentially defenseless Guyana.

As well they should. Kind of hard to tell Americans in Terra Haute, Indiana they gave to pay taxes for NATO while students in Germany go to college for free.

So I’m wondering, did any of these NATO countries go back to slacking on their dues under Biden. If so, they might want to catch up before November.

When you get past all the political flak that the leftist and socialist Democrats are throwing out there, when you get to the bottom line, Trump is right again. Trump was talking about NATO countries who are not meeting their agreed financial obligations to the NATO alliance and have not been recruiting and training their armed forces in numbers that would be effective to stop Russian military attacks on alliance countries. Today even the USA’s closest allie the UK has allowed its troop strength to dwindle down to where the British Army has about 75,000 trained troops, certainly not enough to stop a big Russian attack on a NATO country.

I remember when, during a speech, the great President Ronald Reagan paused, looked at his watch, then announced "By the way, The Bombing Starts In Five Minutes."
You could just feel it in the air as the backside sphincter muscles of every tin-pot dictator in the world suddenly clenched up tight!
Boy, that was a sweet moment!
