It’s a NYCHA-mare. New York City Housing Authority staffers allegedly have no problem fixing government contracts, but residents regularly wait more than two months for them to fix clogged tubs, leaky faucets, and broken refrigerators. NYCHA workers took an average of 65.4 days to complete non-emergency repairs during the fiscal year ending June 30, records reviewed by The Post Show. The glacial pace is 33% slower than the previous year when it took 49.1 days, and a whopping 242% worse than fiscal 2019, when the average repair time was 19.4 days.

Comments:

It's not only past time to get government out of education - - it's WAY past time to get government out of housing. Why in the world does any government anywhere own and operate rental housing? This should be a huge Pubbie issue - - but it isn't - - and won't be.

Corrupt, incompetent bureaucrats? I am shocked...... NOT, actually shocked. Huge portions of all bureaucrats are incompetent, and far too many are also corrupt. This is why "government solutions" are almost never any sort of a solution at all.

I don't believe there is a government program in NY that isn't riddled with corruption and staffed by people who could not survive in the private sector.

Don’t count on former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie to leave the Republican Party any time soon, despite his constant grousing about the GOP’s behavior. Christie affirmed he is a Republican and intends to fight for the party. “No, no, no,” Christie told NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday when asked if he’d leave the GOP. “I am ready to change the Republican Party. I will never stop fighting to change my party. I am a Republican.”

Embattled District Attorney Fani Willis has been accused of lying about the timeline of her relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade in a bombshell new court filing. Mike Roman, who alongside Donald Trump is being charged with election fraud by Wade and Willis in Fulton County, Georgia, made a late Friday filing in the case. In it, his lawyers claim Wade’s former law partner Terrence Bradley will testify their romantic relationship began before he was appointed to prosecute in 2021, according to the Washington Post.

Calling for governments to enact a "global moratorium" on COVID-19 mRNA vaccines could have been a death sentence for a scientist's career not long ago. Now it opens the door to a prestigious science publisher. The Springer Nature medical journal Cureus, sibling to Nature and Scientific American, published a peer-reviewed paper by high-profile mRNA vaccine critics last month, showing the growing mainstream openness to data and arguments once nitpicked if not ignored by publishers and suppressed by academia and Big Tech.

For people out there who love pro golf and want the best of the best competing against each other every week, you better hope Donald Trump is your next president, and it’s not just because the former president is such a golf fanatic. It’s because of the type of regulatory apparatus he will install if elected, a free-market one that will greenlight the much-needed merger of the PGA Tour and the upstart LIV Golf league. Yes, the nonsensical hatred of all things M&A by the leftists in the Biden administration has been horrible for US businesses and the economy. It also could maim professional golf.

Canada has delayed the extension of its assisted suicide program to people suffering solely from mental illness, health officials announced Monday. Canada offers medically assisted death to terminally and chronically ill people, but the plan to extend the program to people with mental illnesses has divided Canadians, the New York Times reported. Some critics attribute the problem to a lack of adequate psychiatric care in the country.

Stacey Abrams' liberal voting rights group Fair Fight is laying off most of its staffers and reducing its operations in response to increasing legal debts. Lauren Groh-Wargo, who led the group until she stepped down to run Abrams' second unsuccessful Georgia gubernatorial run in 2022, said she would return to the organization as interim chief executive to direct the cuts, The New York Times reported Tuesday. Fair Fight is laying off 75% of its current staffers, or 20 employees, per Groh-Wargo, as the group is $2.5 million in debt with $1.9 million cash on hand even after raising about $100 million from 2018 to 2021.

The war in Ukraine and the widespread and growing reliance on nuclear weapons increase the risk of nuclear escalation. China, Russia, and the United States are all spending huge sums to expand or modernize their nuclear arsenals

In a report published Sunday evening, Axios outlined how Trump plans to use the power of the state to forcibly deport millions of people with no legal right to be in the United States. The outlet noted: Donald Trump's plan to crack down on immigration includes using a range of tools to deport millions of people in the U.S. each year — from obscure laws to military funds to law enforcement officers from all levels of government. History tells us such an effort would dramatically disrupt local communities and economies

Joe Biden is incapable of assuring voters he can handle another presidential term, his team has 'no plan' on how to deal with his senile behavior, and he should simply 'not be running for re-election,' according to New York Times authors. Anxieties from the liberal Times' Editorial Board and opinion writers show how worried they are that ailing Biden may not be able to beat 'bad man' Donald Trump this year. The back-to-back opinion pieces knifing the elderly president, 81, over the weekend comes after a Justice Department report ripped into his handling of classified documents and portrayed him as a forgetful old man.

In watching Biden’s speech the other day, I was disgusted by his words, attitudes, lies, anger, and abandonment of Israel. I usually listen to him without actually watching his speeches, but seeing him this time made me do a little research about his eyes… It is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul, and Biden’s pupils were so dilated that his eyes were solid black while he was reinterpreting the words of the special prosecutor. Looking at previous speeches, it seems that all of his “big” speeches have the same image: significantly dilated pupils. Since I don’t actually believe that he is the anti-Christ,

Napoleon Bonaparte is reputed to have originated the expression, “Never interfere with the enemy when he is in the process of destroying himself.” It’s to be hoped that, when it comes to the Democrats and their reckoning with Biden’s profoundly diminished brain power, Republicans heed this advice. In 2020, when Biden ran for office, conservatives warned that (a) he was a deep well of corruption, kind of like an unplumbed cesspool; (b) he was never the brightest bulb in the box, to begin with; (c) he was showing early signs, if not of clinical dementia, but at least of age-related diminished capacity; and (d) that he seemed to be in
