Three years ago, several hundred MAGA conservatives followed a man wearing a buffalo skull on his head into the Capitol. Oh, I know there’s more to it – and we’ll get to that – but that will do for shorthand. Jacob Chansley, AKA QAnon Shaman. Yellowstone Wolf, etc., a professional activist of somewhat eclectic convictions and eccentric sartorial tastes, led the MAGA election fraud protestors up the steps and into the Capitol on Jan. 6, and they went straight in, without any hesitation or sign of second thoughts.

The author accuses conservatives of generally being just too gullible and easy to impress. I think the fact that Donald Trump is the overwhelming favorite after everything we've been through disproves that. What we are guilty of is underestimating the opposition's capacity for lawless action.

J. R. Dunn, it's the People's house. No one, if they are invited in, expects to be ambushed, attacked, then hunted and imprisoned. Far more destructive demonstrations, with NO response have been staged by far more unsavory groups. They shouldn't have had to be wary. Protected speech

If J.R. Dunn aver gets in any kind of trouble, he certainly won't find any sympathy when he looks at me. What the protesters did was free speech. What the police, FBI, Dems, and RINOs along with the Justus department did is criminal and an act of subversion to our country. They need to be in a prison camp somewhere - maybe Antarctica where they won't be likely to escape.

What he describes is not what I watched happen on my screen. However, it should be noted that the process for getting a crowd to behave like a mob is well known to activists of all stripes. A loud voice from the front the group and some loud agreement from the back is often all that is needed. A little organization and the positioning of some agent provocateurs makes it possible to carry out. Now members of congress are saying out loud the organizers were from the government and they were not there to help Trump.

What I saw was some provocations to get the crowd stirred up. I saw no need to fire projectiles into the crowd. To disrupt the speeches. It seemed to me the only purpose served was to anger the crowd. Then the loud voices rang out. It looked textbook to me. Dunn is right about avoiding responding to clear provocation but the opponent clearly has the training and the means to provoke desired responses. Organizers need to have a plan to shut down the provocateurs. You can tell the crowd to behave all you want, but the enemy knows what works. (Sorry for the extra post. I hit the post button a little too soon. Left out some intended content.)

Maine has now become the second state in as many weeks, following a December 19 Colorado Supreme Court decision, to make the determination that President Donald Trump cannot appear on the ballot in the 2024 election. In a unilateral decision, the unelected secretary of state and far-left activist, heretofore unknown Shenna Bellows, disqualified from her state’s ballot the leading presidential candidate and presumptive nominee for the GOP. Recently, and increasingly frequently, we have been told not to believe what we see with our own eyes but instead to accept as true an altered, massaged interpretation of the facts designed to achieve a calculated political goal. This exercise has come to be called a “narrative.” They’re everywhere. Climate. Gender. War. Illegal aliens. Debt. Race. The presidential election of 2020. The evidence that it was stolen from Donald Trump is overwhelming. But we can’t be allowed to believe what we see with our own eyes. So we’re fed a narrative.

The release of more video and cell phone tapes from January 6 by new House Speaker Mike Johnson shows further evidence of a setup by the Feds that their so-called insurrection was staged. All sides will acknowledge the fact that then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi refused to have extra security on January 6. However, there is a bigger question that no one, Left, Right or Center, seems to be asking: Why? Why wouldn’t Pelosi want to be sure that “Democracy was secure” so that Vice President Mike Pence could certify the Electoral College vote?

The moment that Donald Trump won the 2016 election, the outlines of a conspiracy began. Obama, Biden, their staff, Democrat lifers in the DOJ, FBI, CIA, the Pentagon, the establishment media, woke billionaires and the Democrat party, foremost among them House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, shaped a plan to wreck his presidency and cheat to defeat him in 2020. Despite that Trump was on his way to a triumphant presidency because of prescient policies, both domestic and foreign.

Following the bloody stalemate of the Battle of the Wilderness in the Spring of 1864, Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant dispatched a New York Tribune reporter to Washington with a message for President Abraham Lincoln. "He told me I was to tell you, Mr. President, that there will be no going back," the correspondent reported. If our Republic, as it was before the Civil War, is to remain standing, President Donald Trump must not relent in the face of withering fire from all sides. Similar to Lincoln's instructions to Grant ahead of the Siege of Petersburg, Virginia

According to the American Heritage dictionary, this is the definition of “Stupid”: 1. Slow to learn or understand; obtuse. 2. Tending to make poor decisions or careless mistakes. 3. Marked by a lack of intelligence or care; foolish or careless. That applies to a lot of Americans…Democrat voters in general and, in particular, a majority of blacks, college students, and white college-educated women. Notice I said Democrat voters, not Democrat politicians. Democrat politicians may be many things, hypocrites, liars, traitors and more, but they’re not stupid as defined above. Why? Because they do exactly what they need to do

Plato was a pretty smart guy, but even he could not see the future. If he could, his “Allegory of the Cave” would be rather different, as it would have to take into account the idea that not only would people choose to live in the cave they would go so far as to build one themselves. Plato imagined a cave in which people are chained in place and only able to see shadows projected on a wall by their captors. As they could observe nothing else, the shadows essentially become their reality.

Barbara Broccoli, a producer and owner of the rights to the James Bond franchise, recently entertained the implausible idea that Bond could be non-binary. I’d like to recommend a screenwriter to her: Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) Not only was pre-Congress Schiff an unsuccessful screenwriter, but as a Congress-pronoun, Schiff has a proven track record of inventing implausible fiction that ends in failure. If Schiff doesn’t write the script, he could at least market it, as he did with the Trump-Russia collusion lie. Arguably, no Democrat pushed the fictional Trump-Russia collusion narrative more vigorously than Adam Schiff.

In October 1863, Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia was still retreating south from the Gettysburg Campaign that summer and moving slowly toward the Rappahannock River. The Union’s George Meade followed closely behind but gave up the chase and was in the process of moving back north when A.P. Hill decided to attack the retreating Union forces at the Battle of Bristoe Station, Virginia. Hill was soundly defeated. Lee was furious with Hill’s reckless military decision-making. It was at this grave turning point in the American Civil War that President Lincoln issued this proclamation on October 3, 1863

Members of the Minneapolis City Council will be meeting Monday morning to discuss and also vote on a resolution for a ceasefire in Gaza after a weekend of demonstrations in the city. With US forces under regular attack across the Mideast and the Navy actively engaged with Houthi forces in the Red Sea, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was out of commission in the hospital from Monday on. Worse, no one told the White House; worse yet, neither President Biden nor National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan noticed. Not until the Pentagon let Sullivan know on Thursday. Anyone thinking that the nation is well-led despite Biden’s blatant feebleness better think again: Austin and his deputies ignored the law here, while Sullivan was plainly asleep at the switch. Again, with American forces regularly under fire, and our friends in Ukraine and Israel fully at war

The filing documents how Fani Willis and Nathan Wade took several extravagant vacations and indulged in an exclusive lifestyle as the result of payments Willis’s office made to Wade.

Austin underwent the initial prostate cancer surgery on Dec. 25, during which he was under general anesthesia, according to doctors from Walter Reed. On Jan. 1, Austin experienced complications from the surgery including nausea and severe abdominal, hip and leg pain, which was later identified as a urinary tract infection. On Jan. 2, he was
