The story of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin recovering in the hospital broke Friday afternoon when the Pentagon first released a statement {SEE HERE}. It was a bizarre first notification considering that Secretary Austin had been hospitalized since January 1st, and no official notification came until yesterday. However, the story has grown even more bizarre. Secretary Austin was in intensive care for four days following complications that stemmed from an elective procedure.

If this can happen with war on at least 2 fronts, he is either doing nothing about anything or not needed for anything!

"Bizarre" is the only adjective that applies to any leftist administration.

Exactly #2. I'm thinking we are better off without him. Then again, who would replace him? Someone worse? Is that possible? More like probable.

Am I the only one thinking his elective surgery will result in him wearing makeup and a dress? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I would guess that any high level government official would always be in intensive care. No big deal.

"Elective procedure"? A brain transplant? A spine implant? Or some attempt to fix the heart damage from the mRNA shots?

Is this a presidential administration or a Keystone Kops reenactment? What a bunch of losers. This is more embarrassing, more idiotic, more demoralizing than even the Carter administration. And I never believed that was possible.

Austin has been the equivalent of Joe Biden at the Pentagon: an incompetent figurehead. From day 1 he’s been clueless with zealous ideological underlings really pulling the strings at OSD with disastrous results for the DOD and national security.

We'll never know the truth. Just as Biden's doctor always pronounces him to be "vigorous and in good health" even though he is essentially brain dead, Austin will soon be declared "fit for duty" even though he was never fit for duty. I still like MrDeplorable's diagnosis.

Question. If a high-level incompetent imbecilic government official in the Brandon regime goes missing for a week and his equally incompetent imbecilic boss doesn't know does anyone care?

My guess is he OD'd on something, and the administration is covering it up. Anything else would have been reported. Health issues would have been reported. Even an assassination attempt would have been reported. Whatever happened would be viewed as an embarrassment to the administration, and therefore, covered up. Wait and see if Austin gets replaced.

Regardless of what he was in the hospital for, if they didn't bother to notify the White House. Then we know that no one in the White House is really in charge. I suspect Obama knew.

This LDotter, too, wonders what kind of elective surgery the SecDef had, especially if post-surgical complications have kept him in intensive care, or wherever he is now. Who messed up? Was it the surgeon? Did the wrong thing get snipped? Did the anesthesiologist give him too much mickeyfinn, e.g., fentanyl or propofol? Whatever the reason, the Sec is out of action and didn't feel the need to inform anyone. That should be a firing offense. Just another bipedal termite with excessive fruit salad on his uniform.

OK, who else finds this interesting?
"Immediately prior to the shock announcement that Secretary of Defense Austin was in critical condition in a hospital intensive care unit, this report notes, Russia conducted massive missile strikes throughout Ukraine, after which it was reported: “Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin was allegedly killed in Kyiv on January 3 when Russian cruise missiles peltered a command bunker where Austin and Lieutenant General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, commander in chief of the Ukrainian Army, met secretly to discuss mounting an asymmetrical offensive to “bring Vladimir Putin to his knees”, claims a Russian FSB source."

Austin is a critically ill man, unable to carry out the duties of his office, and should immediately resign.
Austin also hid this fact from every party he is responsible to, and should resign for that reason also.
He will do neither, of course, because this is the Biden administration, which shrieks constantly about "preserving democracy." Democracy requires transparency. We have seen how this administration regards that.

A lot of things came to mind immediately, but that in itself is a sad commentary about what trouble we're in, and just who is supposedly running the administration.
As a possible medical issue, an "elective surgery" that goes bad, gastric bypass surgery is elective (as far as I know), but complications can be deadly. A dear friend had a complication when the esophagus separated from the newly configured stomach. This person almost died from peritonitis.
I certainly hope he chose his so-called "medical professional" based on DEI standards?????

Supremely BAD judgment. The Middle East is deteriorating daily, and THIS is the time he selects to be unavailable to get ELECTIVE surgery, and hides it from everyone? What ELSE is he hiding?
