At its meeting this weekend, the Texas GOP's Executive Committee passed two resolutions unanimously: one supporting Israel after the deadly October 7th Hamas terror attacks, and the other denouncing antisemitism. But in a close vote, the Executive Committee decided to remove this clause: "The Republican Party of Texas have no association whatsoever with any individual or organization that is known to espouse anti-Semitism, pro-Nazi sympathies, or Holocaust denial." Texas GOP Chair Matt Rinaldi abstained from voting and said afterwards, "I don't think there would be any difference in the way we've operated,

A war of words — and regulation — escalated this week when a board, hand-picked by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, endorsed an audit alleging Disney World for decades used free park perks to improperly influence public officials and employees tasked with the oversight of the park. The audit claimed Disney gave complimentary annual passes and steep discounts to the public employees, calling the perks “akin to bribes.” A review of campaign finance records shows that some of Disney’s scrutinized perks have also long been enjoyed by Florida’s top politicians, even including DeSantis,

The US Justice Department took the unprecedented step of charging four Russian soldiers with war crimes against an American living in Ukraine, who was allegedly savagely beaten, tortured and subjected to a mock execution. Attorney General Merrick Garland said Wednesday these were the first charges brought under a little-known 1996 federal law that allows the US to prosecute people who commit war crimes against Americans abroad.

Finally, almost two months later, CTH suspicions are confirmed {GO DEEP}. You might remember when the USS Carney intercepted 15 drones and cruise missiles in the Red Sea in October, we said something was sketchy about the Western media reporting on it. The political narrative (not from the Pentagon) was that the missiles were heading to Israel, but that didn’t pass the proverbial sniff test {GO DEEP ##2}. Given the nature of the political climate at the time, and accepting the limited range of Yemeni cruise missiles, CTH surmised the actual target of the October 19th attack was the U.S. naval fleet, not Israel.

The Supreme Court is hearing arguments over a nationwide settlement with OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma that would shield members of the Sackler family who own the company from civil lawsuits over the toll of opioids. The agreement hammered out with state and local governments and victims would provide billions of dollars to combat the opioid epidemic. The Sacklers would contribute up to $6 billion and give up ownership, and the company would emerge from bankruptcy as a different entity, with its profits used for treatment and prevention. But the justices put the settlement on hold during the summer, in response to objections from the Biden administration. Arguments take place Monday.

You don’t have to approve of George Santos to understand it should have been left to his constituents in Long Island and Queens to decide on his suitability to remain in Congress. Nonetheless, despite a slim majority in the House and crucial votes looming as they head into an election year, 105 Republicans were suckered by moral vanity into expelling one of their own Friday. The 35-year-old gay son of Brazilian immigrants, Santos had the most conservative voting record of the entire New York delegation, and now he is gone, taking his vote with him.

With Israel and Hamas returning to arms Friday after the terror group ended a weeklong pause in the fighting across the Gaza Strip, the Jewish state is again under international pressure to halt its war to eliminate the jihadists who brutally slaughtered more than 1,200 people — including 33 Americans — on Oct. 7. But how, exactly, can the Israel Defense Forces avoid harming civilians when its enemy hides behind innocents, directing its operations from the most sacred of safe spaces – including hospitals – in violation of the international rules of war?

As Nikki Haley nabs endorsements from Republican kingmakers, some wealthy Democratic donors also have begun quietly funneling cash to her campaign, On The Money has learned. In a desperate bid to chip away at Donald Trump’s odds for the GOP nomination, a coterie of DNC donors are sending checks to Haley — even as they continue to publicly voice support for Biden and push for his White House bid, sources said. Deep-pocketed participants view the unusual diversion of funds as an “opposition effort” against another Trump presidency, according to insiders. “If we’re going to lose, let’s lose to her, not Trump,” one source said of Democratic donors’ thinking.

Democrats are losing ground with people of color. The percentage of black Americans who voted Republican in the 2022 midterms nearly doubled compared to the 2018 cycle. Asian American support for Democrats is slumping generation over generation. And young Latinos are increasingly registering without a party affiliation. It’s a historic shift that threatens to shake up the upcoming presidential election, as Biden’s polling numbers continue to sink dramatically among voters of color — and particularly younger ones in battleground states.

The House passed a bipartisan measure Thursday that would block Iran from ever accessing the $6 billion recently transferred by the U.S. in a prisoner swap, a step Republicans pushed in response to the nation’s alleged role in the deadly attacks last month by Hamas on Israel. The measure — titled the No Funds for Iranian Terrorism Act — passed 307-119 as Republicans sought to hold the Biden administration accountable for what they call their complicity in funding Iranian-backed terrorism in the Middle East. “With such instability in the region, the last thing we need to do is to give access to $6 billion to be diverted to more Iranian-sponsored terrorism,

Former President Donald Trump is urging supporters to “guard the vote” during next year’s election, a phrase that has set off alarm bells among pro-democracy advocates who say it signals permission to take extreme measures that could intimidate voters and threaten election workers. The phrase is a relatively novel one for Trump, though activists in the far-right movement have been setting the groundwork for it to be deployed more widely. Former national security adviser Michael Flynn has spent months repeating the phrase in posts, speeches and interviews.

Something has changed inside the Department of Justice, though it’s unclear exactly what might be going on under the covers. After years of stalling and obfuscation, doing everything possible to keep First Son Hunter Biden out of any legal trouble, the DOJ filed nine new charges against Hunter last night. None of them are trivial and three are quite serious. He was hit with three felony tax evasion charges and six related misdemeanors. The unpaid taxes add up to $1.4 million and they carry the potential of up to 17 years in prison. This is going to put Joe Biden in a very awkward position in short order and

Yesterday, I wrote about the likelihood that Penn’s president, Liz Magill, will be replaced sometime soon, as support for her has essentially collapsed in the wake of her testimony before Congress in which she refused to denounce calls for the genocide of Jews by students clearly. Well, it is becoming clear that Claudine Gay, Harvard’s president, will follow her out the door shortly after. I have no inside knowledge, of course. It turns out that the Ivies don’t share their plans with me for some reason. But the political and financial pressure on the institutions is building so fast that it is hard to imagine that the boards of these corporations
