Meet the New Dark Age

Not quite the same as the old Dark Age. The old Dark Age happened when the corporate governmental structure of Rome collapsed, allowing hordes of tribal heathens to overrun what had been the empire’s domain. Today’s Dark Age is instead happening because modern governments continue to become ever more powerfully intrusive into what used to be private affairs, using their assumed authority to enforce some sort of contrived orthodoxy and thus moving towards politicizing just about everything. This is particularly obvious in the various fields of science.

Ah, if science was so simple. Mankind has had 'science' since prehistoric times. The mere understanding of the changing of seasons, when to grow or harvest, bird migrating and astronomy all could be considered science. The accent Greeks, Egyptians, Chinese, Indians (from India) and others all had forms of science and medicine. After the Dark Ages, there was considerable development od science in the Mediveal Ages. The formations of the collegium had to the first university (Bologna 1088) which lead to the Bachelor of Arts degree (note, no science). The 7 disciplines for a degree included grammar, rhetoric, and logic, arithmetic, geometry, astronomy, and music. Note nothing about science of medicine. So a degree in medicine was an advance degree from the the arts and thus medicine was considered an 'art'. The Art of Medicine has nothing to do with science. It was a hold over from the first degrees conferred on those that earned it. The Black Death shut down the development of science (and most other things). Modern science begins in the 16 century and if formalized as we know it in the 19th century. And it continues to evolve. And it is global. So the crap we have today will end up on the taste piles of history like so many others.

That didn’t take long. The Hamas barbarians broke their ceasefire agreement with Israel 15 minutes after it started today. Sirens went off in southern Israel just minutes after the ceasefire. According to reports the hostage release was scheduled for 4 PM Israel time which is 9 AM ET. That has also passed without the arrival of Jewish children taken hostage on October 7 by the Hamas barbarians.

On Monday, the US Supreme Court rejected former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s appeal to reconsider his conviction for second-degree murder in the killing of George Floyd. The justices did not comment on their decision to leave in place state court rulings affirming Chauvin’s conviction and 22 1/2-year sentence, San Diego Union-Tribune reported. In October, attorneys representing Chauvin appealed to the Supreme Court to review his case. This appeal was based on the refusal of a Minnesota trial court to change the venue of the trial and sequester the jury.

There is more than an average share of discontent brewing from sea to shining sea as ever more Americans get the sense that their country, which has been pivotal to ensuring global security, stands on the edge of a cliff. Many comfort themselves by looking at other pivotal moments in our history where the country’s future was in doubt right before the ship was righted. But, due to a confluence of factors, it is hard to imagine America bouncing back. There are four problems that, if not reversed soon, will lead to collapse, and America will fall.

This week, left wing protesters who are siding with Hamas over Israel took over and shut down the Bay Bridge in California. This decision not only prevented people from getting to work, it prevented couriers from delivering organs needed for transplant surgeries. Imagine being in the hospital for life-saving surgery and learning that the organ you’re depending on can’t reach you because some protesters have decided that their stunt is more important than your life.

One of the indisputable foundations of civilization came down Mount Sinai 3,323 years ago. Moses brought two tablets etched with the Ten Commandments to his people and pronounced it to be their common law, which would secure their peace and freedom from the arbitrary rule of kings or pharaohs. One of England’s foremost jurists, Sir Edward Coke, called Moses “the first reporter or writer of law in the world.” Robert Sheffern, a historian of law, wrote that the laws compiled by the Jews in the Ten Commandments, the Torah, and the Talmud “may well be the most influential collection of legal materials in world history.”
The Catastrophic Death of Fairness 7 replies

Some social psychologists believe that humans are biologically wired to seek “fair” relationships with others. Some theologians believe that the soul’s capacity for distinguishing right from wrong leads a moral person toward the same result. Whether genetically or spiritually inclined to prefer fair outcomes, we humans are not comfortable around those who cheat and prosper from duplicity. Cheating is ugly and therefore despised. Systemic cheating, however, now dominates Western life. Elevating “diversity for diversity’s sake” over all other metrics for gauging achievement has reduced merit and hard work to second-class virtues.

During his show on Fox News, Jesse Watters revealed that the Secret Service has been misleading the public about a cocaine investigation at the White House. According to over 100 pages of documents obtained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, the narrative surrounding the discovery and handling of cocaine at the White House appears fraught with inconsistencies and cover-ups. The Gateway Pundit reported in July that Hazmat crews were dispatched inside the entrance gate near the West Wing of the White House to investigate a suspicious white substance that tested positive for cocaine hydrochloride.

No stranger to hypocrisy, Hillary Clinton set a breathtaking new standard with her denunciation of convicted meme jokester Douglass Mackey. The context was an April 2023 discussion with former House speaker Nancy Pelosi at the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, where Hillary is reportedly a professor. "Democracy requires at least a minimal level of trust,” said Hillary with the semblance of a straight face. “So if we are going to turn our politics over to people who — maybe just for the heck of it — are making up stuff to misrepresent leaders, or maybe because they know they can achieve it

The 2024 presidential election is a year away. The political landscape of America in October of 2024 will be far different than it is today. The current polling, which focuses on which candidate for president is winning and the attendant punditry, is meaningless. Over the next twelve months there will be a significant increase in voter dissatisfaction due to unabated crime and illegal immigration as well as seismic shifts in the economy and foreign affairs which will dramatically affect the fortunes of both parties and their candidates. A September 2023 poll revealed that just 28% of Americans believe the U.S. political system is working extremely or somewhat well.

I like MMA, having trained in it (in a mostly risk-free, exercise way) for many years. I also really like MMA fighters, who have proven to be people who are brave, not only in the ring but also outside of the ring, when it comes to standing against woke leftism. The most recent example is Joel “King Bau” Bauman, who walked into the fight arena wearing a shirt that asks just the right question about Jeffrey Epstein’s little black book. As we all know, Jeffrey Epstein wasn’t the only one playing around on Pedo Island. Instead, he had a long list of well-connected people

Two years ago, my colleague Joe Cunningham wrote about the beautiful ad that Chevrolet did for Christmas with a man who is sad at the holidays because his wife has died. The daughter then lovingly has the wife's car -- which is under wraps in the barn, unused for a while -- restored, unbeknownst to the father, to surprise him and bring back those memories of the love of his wife he so misses. “It’s what mom would’ve wanted,” the daughter says. It's no secret that for years, the Drudge Report drove conservative (and often mainstream) media news cycles. If Drudge was talking about it, you could bet everyone from Rush Limbaugh to Fox News to PJ Media was also discussing it. In fact, there was a symbiotic relationship between Drudge's aggregated links and the pages of most conservative media outlets. Pretty much everyone was either getting story prompts from Drudge or sending him stories (often via AOL Instant Messenger) hoping he'd link them. A Drudge link day was always a good one

The Nation is honoring this year’s Thanksgiving by featuring a debate over whether America should keep celebrating the national holiday or not. One side is claiming it is “steeped in colonialism, violence, and misrepresentation” and needs to be “decolonized,” while the other goes further, describing Thanksgiving as a “lie” that should be completely abolished and replaced with a “Truthsgiving,” where Americans can “give thanks by… giving land back.” The essay, titled “Should America Keep Celebrating Thanksgiving?” and published in the left-wing magazine’s latest issue, details the positions of Lakota Chef Sean Sherman,

Federal investigators have released further details on a network of “sophisticated high-end brothels” that serviced politicians, military officials, and government contractors, revealing that the alleged ringleaders kept “impeccable” records of their million-dollar operation. The prostitution ring was busted earlier this month by the Department of Justice (DOJ), with three Korean nationals arrested for their alleged roles in orchestrating the criminal network. Han Lee, 41, James Lee, 68, and Junmyung Lee, 30, “walked through the border safeguards that have been relaxed by President Joe Biden’s border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas,” Breitbart News reported after their arrests on November 8.

‘Fully prevent drivers from exceeding the speed limit’ Just when you thought there were no parts of your life not already under the thumb of the federal government, a new idea emerges. This time it comes from the National Transportation Safety Board and it involves outsiders having control of the gas pedal in your car. While you’re driving, of course. The proposal from the NTSB is to install “intelligent speed assistance” tech in all cars, a system that uses a car’s GPS location and local speed limit postings “to help ensure safe and legal speeds.” What the NTSB wants is to require systems that “warn” when a driver is speeding,

The mayhem at Hillcrest High School in Jamaica unfolded shortly after 11 a.m. Monday in what students called a pre-planned protest over the teacher’s Facebook profile photo showing her at a pro-Israel rally on Queens Oct. 9 holding a poster saying, “I stand with Israel.”
