When Louisiana’s Mike Johnson was pulled from obscurity and elected House speaker last month, many conservatives were cautiously optimistic that the man with the self-professed biblical “worldview” and somewhat solid voting record would be the fighter they’ve needed to halt Democrats’ Marxist takeover of society. Unfortunately, it didn’t take long to discover that Johnson is just as weak-kneed as his Republican predecessors.

Since Johnson became speaker:
- The house voted to fund a massive new FBI facility (congrats you anti-American, Constitution, Democrat thugs, well done. Here is a new building bigger than the Pentagon. After all the Pentagon is only concerned with foreign enemies but you have half of the American citizens to war against.)
- Failed to impeach Mayorkas. (Great job at the border!)
- Continued funding through this CR.
Sigh.

That headline is right on. I am more than disappointed that yet again that
that somone we thought had a backbone and the American people's welfare at heart is just another spineless go along to get along cowrad. I am so damn disgusted that unless Trump runs I feel like staying home, because nothing ever changes with these a*&h**les. I am glad I an registered Independent, not that it matters I guess. Crap on all of them.

I concluded, not recently, that congressional Republicans are like a guard dog you get to protect your house. It barks viciously at kids walking by, but burglars toss it a juicy steak and it sits quietly in the yard while they walk off with the place. Fake Opposition Party - more appropriate than Grand Old Party.

This has been true ever since Reagan left office. The Bush's were both faux Democrats and now, when Biden make atrocious decisions and wastes taxpayer dollars, the GOP does nothing. Except for Trump, the rest of the party is a giant waste of space.

The Dems in the House cater to their extreme/radical Left Wing at the expense of their moderates (if any really left) and yet, Republicans in the House refuse to cater to our so-called extreme wing of the party, aka Conservatives and the so-called Republican moderates, really Leftist Republicans caterwaul and dominate the Rs in the House.

Why are there people in the DC jail who have been there for over 2 years with no trial no bail, and Republicans are sitting on their Royal buttocks and doing nothing about it. What good is a Constitution when nothing is done about the abuse of it.

The folks who are reading opinion/fact articles such as this are pretty much already have an understanding about the "Uniparty.
But looking out my window... have to wonder... what percentage of Americans _do_ read such articles?
For that matter, how many recent "graduates" of our Public Education System are even literate?

Headline, and #6 comment about Trump as the exception - both SO spot on. Love him or not - Trump is not a modern Republican.

Until recently, the United States hasn't had a national goal or a vision since President Kennedy announced in 1962 that America was going to the moon. Today's goal, to complete Obie's and Klaus's transformation of Amerika.

If Donald Trump is on the ballot in 2024, I will cast my last vote - ever. He is such a rare leader that the chances of another one coming along in my lifetime are practically nil. Our government is a failure, both sides of the aisle.

There is tremendous disappointment with the Republicans. No matter how many we put in office, we get nothing. The Democrats are always in control. I register Republican to try to eliminate the Rino's in the primary, but they have a system for that. They run multiple candidates to split the votes, so it is not possible to get at them.

If you just arrived from Mars it would not take long to figure out that the Republicans are a very wimpy bunch who talk a conservative line when they are back in their States and Districts, but when they get to DC can’t stick together and cower when it comes to taking on the Democrats.

I am shocked at this revelation. No, I'm not. This is who they have always been. They talk the talk but don't have the ba11s to back it up. It is all for show and to obtain "campaign contributions" aka bribes. Look at how many of them from both parties had modest wealth before getting elected and look at them now. Great case for term limits.

FOP is an accurate acronym for the "Republican Party".
1
obsolete : a foolish or silly person
2
: a man who is devoted to or vain about his appearance or dress : COXCOMB, DANDY
Apparently the "obsolete" term is not so obsolete.

It's past time for a revolution.
The only problem with those is the people who push to lead such an effort aren't usually any better than the creeps you're overthrowing. The one benefit is the creeps who have harmed you are punished.
The Founders stated the country would prosper only so long as the people held to God and family. We've waited too long.

Who is Shawn Fleetwood? I've never heard of this person. Why not show some leadership, Shawn. Run for Congress. Lead by example. If you don't approve of the current leadership, then do what Trump did. Get off your tuchus. We don't need yet another Cpt. Obvious article. It's easy to be a Keyboard Kommando and recycle criticisms of the Republicans that others have made. People like Goldwater in 1964.

Uniparty. Some fraction of Republicans are actual opposition, but at least 20% or more are Uniparty so will always vote for the Uniparty line, if it is opposed by actual conservatives.

The bill that Mike Johnson put together had more of what Matt Gaetz and his squad of idiots claimed they wanted than the bill that would with Democrats help.
As long as they insist on sabotaging any bill that doesn’t give them everything they demand they will never get it. And, attempting to shut down the government is only throwing a temper tantrum that will cause Republicans to lose elections. Their rank stupidity is hurting the American people as well as their party.

Watch how these people vote. They vote like they know nothing will happen to them despite how unhappy we are. Leads me to think there will not be another election. I don’t know their reasoning but you would think they would make their own safety a priority. I can guarantee that there will be multiple terrorist attempts and those evil people don’t care which party you belong to.

Always wondered how the Republican party that could not agree on anything suddenly came together unanimously for Johnson. What kind of deal was reached that they aren't talking about?
A two-party system works great to divide the voting public, and unscrupulous 'leaders' can use that to keep people divided. Over half of the population won't work together. What goes on in Washington should not be considered governing.
