Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan today said Israel was a 'terror state' committing war crimes and violating international law in Gaza, while repeating his view that Hamas gunmen are not terrorists but a 'political party elected by Palestinians'.
In a fiery speech to members of his party, Erdogan said Turkey would work to ensure that Israel's political and military leaders are recognised as 'terrorists' and brought to trial in international courts.
A ranting Erdogan said Israel was a 'terrorists state' intent on destroying Gaza along with the thousands of people who live in the besieged territory.

He is threatening to file charges at the ICC...but neither Israel, turkey, (or the USA for that matter) are members, HE has no standing, and Israel has long refused to recognize the ICC.
He still has "Dreams" of an Ottoman Empire resurrected, they once OWNED Israel...he actually has a better claim on the land than any So Called "Palestinians", if such a claim is based upon prior ruling/control/possession. Many of the so called Palestinians are remnants of The Ottomans Slave Armies, captured elsewhere and brought to fight in the Levant, when they were defeated The Turks left anyone not of the "Upper Crust" behind. Same with the Roman's armies, The Babylonians, Napoleon's, Arab armies, Persia's armies, Alexander's, and the Mamaluks. But before ANY of them arrived the Jews were there, they were there under all of those temporary Empires, they are there still.
Why? Because Allah WILLS it!. Every attempt to drive them out, kill them off has failed because...Allah WILLS it. They always win, they always kill 10 times as many or more of those that try to kill them...because Allah WILLS it. The So Called Palestinians that also are so called Muslims should consider that.

Turkey is in NATO. If Israel and Turkey end up in hostilities, we’d have to fight with Turkey against Israel. Let that sink in.

I don't see Turkey offering to take any of these 'poor' musslimes into Turkey. After all, they are muzzie brothers. In fact, I don't see any muzzie country, including Iran, offering to take any Palestinians in.

Funny ain't it...Turkey is All In on a Palestinian Homeland/State but want's to boot every Kurd out of Kurdish areas of Turkey. I'll bet if they were offered a 1:1 exchange of Kurds for Palestinians they would instantly say..."Oh HE!! No"
No other Arab/Persian/Muslim country wants the Palestinians either. Those that did accept them...ended up having to fight them later, in their own cities, and on their own streets, terror attacks, attempted revolutions....finally expelling them again.

I really hate to see this. Spent the better part of a year on a project in Istanbul back in the nineties (Tansu Ciller was PM at the time), and Turks are among the friendliest and most hospitable people I ever worked with.

Erdogan is just another delusional dictator who creates his own view of the world. How do evil people get elected over millions of good people in a country? We have that same problem here and there doesn't seem to be a legal means to correct it.

Erdogan appears to be playing to the Islamic power players and potential Islamic radical mob in Turkey to stay in and get more power. By doing so, he is showing himself to be a true anti western, pro Islam wannabe dictator who does not belong in NATO.

That area of the world stays screwed up because it's islamic. They hate everybody who is not islamic and Israel seems to always be at the top of the list. If it wasn't for the oil under their sand they would still be herding sheep and goats and would not be able to harm anyone.

OK then. Erdogan just removed any cover the "Palestinian civilians" may have had. They are responsible for making war on Israeli civilians. Israel can now drop the claim that their war is against Hamas, because as Erdogan pointed out, the 'Palestinian people' chose war over peace and Israel is obliged to give it to them, good and hard. As far as Turkey in NATO, the U.S. is not bound to fight against Israel. Are the EU members of NATO going to enforce our obligation on paper? Without the U.S., there is no NATO. Same for the supposed jurisdiction and judgment of any so-called international court. Good luck bringing Israeli leaders to trial. They are at war, something they tend to take seriously, despite a democrat U.S. president urging them to cease fire.

Agree #12, I spent a long weekend in Istanbul in 1985 and it was a very cosmopolitan city chocked full with restaurants and boutiques. The women were as well dressed as those in Paris and everyone we met was lovely and treated us well. Then the Muslims took over.
