A California Republican House hopeful told RedState she uncovered a scheme by Rep. Adam Schiff (D.-Calif.), who is running for the California Senate seat vacated by the passing of Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein, where the congressman reported his Maryland home as his primary residence to secure a lower mortgage interest rate—meaning he either lied on a federally-insured loan document or from 2003 to 2021, he was not a resident of his Burbank district.

The Schiff has hit the fan. Explain why you are not paying your "fair share", Adam.

In some states a secondary home is also taxed at a higher rate than a primary residence. He may ower thousands of dollars in back property taxes in MD. Lock him up.

Mortgage rates are often higher for second homes. There also may be lower lending limits.

May also be tax fraud. Where you claim your home will determine your tax rate and whether it can be used for taxable purposes (home office, place of residence, property tax exemptions, etc). Maybe the IRS would like to look at this. Aside from the fact that he is supposed to be representing CA while his homestead is in MD. Doesn't fly with me.

Okay, I get it. Lots of DC Swampers and Congresscritters have homes in the DC area.
But I think the first thing you'd learn at "New Congresscritter Class 101" is that you need to maintain your official residence back in your home district. That means no homestead exemptions, principal residence designations, etc. For all practical purposes, it's your second home.
But as we know, rules don't apply to Democrats. Never mind.

#7 - The maximum personal income tax rate in MD is 5.75%. If he were paying as a CA resident and assuming his salary as his sole source of income, that rate would be 9.3%. But these swamp dwellers all have hidden side gigs that bring in millions (and that no one in the press cares to learn about), so that rate could be as high as 13.3%.

how does a civil servant afford a 'point' house in MD--as in ''1 point 7'' ?
why do suffering Deplorables have to come up with a bundle of budget $$ to pay off Sen Feinstein's family?
a disgruntled friend in her district has groused, the senator and hubbie are klintonesque cash machines.
they don't need our dosh, nor does schiffty schiff need us to pay for his local mansion.
our new speaker should be all over these scams like a dobermann; but, he is not.
