In 2002, I discovered a 1927 lecture by Bertrand Russell entitled “Why I am Not a Christian”. It did not cross my mind, as I read it, that one day, nearly a century after he delivered it to the South London branch of the National Secular Society, I would be compelled to write an essay with precisely the opposite title.
The year before, I had publicly condemned the terrorist attacks of the 19 men who had hijacked passenger jets and crashed them into the twin towers in New York. They had done it in the name of my religion, Islam. I was a Muslim then, although not a practising one.

An excellent, well thought out, sane and solid report on her life and an accurate view of the condition of the world today.
I loved:
"Blaming the errors of US foreign policy was easier than contemplating the possibility that we were confronted with a religious war." for the idiots who run this country.
And as a summary, this is outstanding, accurate and concise description of the problems of the current world:
"Western civilisation is under threat from three different but related forces: the resurgence of great-power authoritarianism and expansionism in the forms of the Chinese Communist Party and Vladimir Putin’s Russia; the rise of global Islamism, which threatens to mobilise a vast population against the West; and the viral spread of woke ideology, which is eating into the moral fibre of the next generation."
Welcome, intelligent lady, and I hope your journey to understanding Christianity is successful in all ways.
You rejection of Islam and of atheism are both excellent, and difficult steps.

FTA: "To me, this freedom of conscience and speech is perhaps the greatest benefit of Western civilisation. It does not come naturally to man. It is the product of centuries of debate within Jewish and Christian communities. It was these debates that advanced science and reason, diminished cruelty, suppressed superstitions, and built institutions to order and protect life, while guaranteeing freedom to as many people as possible. Unlike Islam, Christianity outgrew its dogmatic stage. It became increasingly clear that Christ’s teaching implied not only a circumscribed role for religion as something separate from politics. It also implied compassion for the sinner and humility for the believer."
No doubt Western Civilization has had it share of warfare and barbarity throughout it's history, but through it all we have consistently striven to increase the dignity and freedom of the individual. As a rule we do not treat vanquished countries as vassal states, but rebuild them and develop them as economic partners. At least we did before the globalist WEF "smart set" decided they knew better, and our religious leaders embraced liberation theology. As my favorite priest once said; the truth of the Faith is proved by the fact that it endures because of the laity, in spite of the clergy.
I was touched by her convert's fervor, "Of course, I still have a great deal to learn about Christianity. I discover a little more at church each Sunday." This was an excellent essay on the fundamental differences between the religions of life, Judaism and Christianity that built Western Civilization, and Islam that is dedicated only to death and destruction.

This reads like her main reason for claiming Christianity is geo-political.
I would be interested in knowing more about her conversion and the type church she attends.

Transparent honesty.
Yes, the Bible is true and accordingly it says "We see through a glass darkly." Yes, if we continue in the word of Jesus we shall be His disciples and we shall know the truth and "the truth shall make you free."
The Gospel is that Jesus came to earth to make a way for us to relate to God (relationship). We can talk to Him and He will talk to us. Through the blood of Jesus we can approach the Holy God.
All this being true, God is still Almighty and Holy. We can absolutely know that He loves us and desires the best for us.
To imagine that we can know all He knows is simply not possible. There always will be more to learn. And it is good.

Good for her. Actually, "Why I am Not a Christian" is a book by Bertrand Russell. I have a copy, and have read it a couple times. He grapples with the usual topics of existence of evil, children having incurable diseases, and others. But not once does he address the Resurrection. Hmmm....

This makes me happy. I was always troubled by the fact that this brilliant woman, who got so much right, was an atheist.

I had become fascinated with this brilliant woman years ago and read her book twice. Great to see her show her own evolution today after what seemed a long, quiet period.
#7, as you say, Ayaan's atheism had troubled me also, yet never dimmed that fascination.

Though, by her own admission, she still has a long way to go in her spiritual journey, her reasons for repudiating both Islam and atheism are fascinating
