Ohio voters approved a ballot measure Tuesday night that will effectively outlaw any restrictions on abortion and other procedures that involve reproduction, including gender-transition surgeries.
The measure, known as Issue 1, will also remove parental-consent and notification requirements for minors who undergo the procedures.
The amendment includes vague language about prohibiting any law that “directly or indirectly” would “burden” or “interfere” with “reproductive decisions.” Opponents of the measure argue it would also outlaw nearly any restrictions on abortion or other reproduction-related procedures,

This vote wasn't even close. Abortion for any reason and at any stage of the pregnancy. How tragic - how evil. God is not going to take kindly to this depravity. If this or gender change happened to my child without my consent - someone would likely suffer horribly.

Thanksgiving and God’s blessings for everyone who offered time, effort, money, and prayers to defeat this morally unacceptable amendment.
#5~ “Someone check for cheating.” / Considering the enormous sums of money poured into Ohio by advocates of the perverted amendment to purchase publicity and mainstream media coverage, the possibility of buying votes has been bandied about.
#15~ “Ohio, what have you done.” / Indeed, Ohioans have sown evil and may reap the harvest. The hearts of believers in Ohio are grieved for the disaster this amendment will bring from cradle to grave.

Wait till parents find out the government can control their kids by trancing (which is impossible). And force girls to have abortions. Thy may not like government control, but they got it now! It’s not reproductive rights. The reproducing has already happened. It should be called “the right to murder. And why should taxpayers pay for someone’s abortion. If abortion is the correct thing to do there would be no controversy. It’s killing life. An innocent life who has no say in the matter. What’s next. ACLU going to get the death of four year olds cause mommy changed her mind, legalized.

This is not 5, 10, or 20+ years ago. This is a result of our media, but mostly our education system over those many years. Face it, parents and churches have been overwhelmed by the media and our education system.
So,
1. We have relaxed after Roe was overturned.
2. We have been outspent on this issue since Roe was overturned.
3. There’s been no clear political voice by any politician or by the Republican Party since Roe was overturned.
4. We’ve allowed anti-life forces to go on the offensive without a pro-life effective response.
5. We’ve allowed the voting process (early, mail-in and whatever) to defeat weak (yes, that’s right) weak candidates who are unwilling to go to the mat on this issue.
God help us, and God bless America.

Gotta hand it to the left. They beat the conservatives to the punch every time. Pretty easy to do when you have the media, the money, and don't care about the rule book.
People of Ohio, you just voted to abandon your children.
And if you ask those who voted for this if they support partial birth abortion and abortion up to birth, they will say no.

#15, I know you know it’s not all Ohioans. I do not want to make excuses but the RNC was utterly useless in Ohio. We were inundated with outside money in enormous amounts. The DNC decided to use OhIo as a test case and pour millions and millions into this race to win it and use it as a strategy in other states. The ads were pervasive and false. It was all about emotion. Republicans just did not put the money here and their ads were lackluster. We need a real fighter for us and Ronna McRomney is just not cutting it. How many elections do Republicans have to lose under her leadership?
Many Ohioans are heartbroken at the loss of Issue 1, but frankly, I expected it but hoped and prayed for a different outcome. I woke up this morning and after reading the results was just devastated. This state will become a Mecca for human harvesting of baby parts. How could this happen? Evil definitely is on the ascendancy. Ohio is proof of that. We have been a red state until recently and now we will reap the whirlwind because of the policies that have been passed. I am reeling in unbelief. What is it going to take to wake up people to the utter devastation that is coming? If democrats can do this to Ohio, they can do it anywhere. We must stop all this outside money in our state elections. People who don’t even live in a state can force an issue down the throats of voters who want no part of it.

Before Roe v Wade was overturned, it was estimated that a third of the states would incline towards more liberal abortion laws, a third for status quo and a third would tighten the restrictions. It seems to be playing out. Under our system States have all the residual powers held on behalf of the people. And it is within their legal right.

What happened to the end of the world when the SCOUS couldn't find the right to murder your kid in the womb? All they did was give the right to the State, so here we are. The women of Ohio can now kill away while many states will protect these children. The rights not given to the Feds are preserved to the States, exactly what the founding fathers wanted.

Yes, #26, I do know. :) As regards Colorado's state RNC, it is worse than useless. This has been a problem here for a long time. Back when I had the time and energy to attend my county assemblies and went to my precinct caucuses, I just shook my head a lot and finally had to find other interests while still keeping my eye on local politics, now mainly with financial contributions.
Colorado's DNC became a political powerhouse during the Gov. Hickenlooper days and is controlled by a handful of Denver law firms who finance practically every lefty initiative that is brought to the voters (especially to our young people) who are conditioned by the Denver msm and social media to support these initiatives.
And it may get worse next year as my House representative Lauren Boebert is running for re-election against big Aspen money and her challenger, Adam Frisch, who is from guess where, Aspen, is outraising her by a wide margin. Boebert is one tough individual, but she has her work cut out for her this time because of how her House district was re-drawn to include dim strongholds.
More to point of Brittany's piece, our legislature has already passed a late-term abortion bill that our Gov Polis happily signed into law which protects medical providers who perform the late-term procedures from any legal consequences. So, in reality, Colorado became the first official murder state of the unborn since Roe v Wade was overturned.

The “good”:in this - Abortion and weed are no longer issues in Ohio, so it should allow state to return to red in 2024.
The “bad” - expect every other blue / slightly red state to put amendment on their ballots in 2024 to ensure women and pot users to turn out in record numbers. These two perverse issues will outweigh inflation, crime, the border invasion, the green madness and Biden’s corruption.
The really “bad” - it doesn’t matter who wins Republican nomination, Biden will win. Normality and morality no longer matter.

In Literature, I believe this is what is called foreshadowing. That is, I still firmly believe the demonrats cheated their *sses off in this election, and plan on doing the same in 2024, etc.,..
Honest elections are a relic of the past in the U.S. Just look at all the young-uns, if not the older people, who actually voted yes to this horrid measure. Even though there was a lot of cheating mixed in, the moral compass of many has been lost.

It is beyond unfair, #31. I’ve been there myself - nine years of fertility treatments only to conceive twins and miscarry one at 8 weeks and one at 16 weeks, the last of which involved a ruptured amniotic sac and almost killed me too.
A couple of months after the second miscarriage, I was working in a shop when a woman came in and asked me to sign a petition supporting Planned Parenthood. I remained calm though I could feel my blood pressure skyrocketing and told her my story. I doubt that I changed her mind at all but she couldn’t wait to get out of my presence.

To listen to the ads over the last many weeks, most voters likely thought they were "fixing" the law recently passed by the legislature. The only issues addressed in the pro ads seemed to be the lack of exception for rape and incest, and to "keep government out of your personal decisions" (would that they felt that way about more things). The ads rarely if ever covered the scope of the amendment.
Unfortunately, the ads to vote no were overshadowed by overwhelming numbers of ads to vote yes. And yes, they were misleading.
Ohio is in for a rude awakening in the next few years. We get the government we deserve, and we're going to get it good and hard now.

#3, Actually support for Donald Trump does not “put every Republican on the endangered species list.” Several months ago Trump issued a very sensible and politically astute statement on abortion. He said that it was not smart at this time to push for restrictions. Better to let the overturning of Roe to play out in each state. He has been proven right as voters have been convinced that abortion will be outlawed in their states. The majority of Americans do not want abortion to be outlawed. Trump’s position aligns with the majority’s.

Another aspect of voting for a law that is maddening is the wording of a proposed law. In CA we would have propositions that were so twisted in wording that if you voted "yes" it really meant "no". This is done to confuse the voter and win by any means possible. Another example of the failure of our public/government school system where our kids are not taught to think for themselves. Was this done in Ohio? I really don't think the people in Ohio believed they were voting for murdering innocent unborn babies. I think they were deceived by deceptive ads even as they have been deceived about Hamas, or Global warming, or deceived about who Obama really is. The Legacy Media, Universities/govt. schools, DNC, Leftists, are the deceivers.

By the same token, 'foreign' $'s shouldn't play a part in our national elections. Is this just a problem of enforcement, or are there legal issues I'm just not aware of?!?

Conservatives aren't a large enough voting group to make a difference on an issue like this.
Most people don't want to tell someone else what they can or can't do, so leave it up to that individual to make up their mind - this includes Catholics.
Democrats used language that appealed to people and didn't instill fear things were "going backwards".
This issue should be off the table for future elections, thus, free-up people to vote on other issues.
Democrats use this issue to influence Christian voters not to vote for the Republican if they were "pro choice" and didn't state it is murder. And, there just aren't enough dedicated pro-life voters but are enough who won't vote for a particular candidate simply due to this issue, which Democrats exploit.
This is a settled issue in Ohio, and other states so any politician should be able to simply state it as such.

# 33, you may be right on the politics. But please don't make the mistake of looking at abortion as just another in a laundry list of issues. In the words of the late Paul Greenberg, a Jewish writer, abortion "goes to the heart of the two most important questions in the universe: the value of human life and the value of Truth."
Greenberg was right, and that is why we will never be free to "move on" to other matters.
"Abortion is at the core of everything that ails this country." ---- Rush Limbaugh
