Newly-minted House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Thursday that the entirety of his worldview could be found if one would simply “go pick up a Bible off your shelf and read it.”
Johnson, who received unanimous Republican support after three weeks of chaos — and three other nominees for the position — was elected on Wednesday to replace ousted House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and spoke with Hannity about getting back to business in the House of Representatives.

it is refreshing to see a true man of God in U.S. leadership. Many politicians profess their faith for political expediency, that may have some truth, to a degree, but there is no doubt about Rep. Johnson.

Bill Clinton made it his point to be seen carrying the Bible. This man, lives the Bible. God bless him.

Now we’re getting somewhere. I acknowledge this country is not a theocracy, but it is very reassuring to know Speaker Johnson has a strong foundation in very basis upon which this country was founded. God bless him and keep him on the right track, give him wisdom and determination to do what is right and protect him against the evil that is about to come against him.

I watched a bit of Hannity for the first time in over 5 years. (He is gray.)
I was struck by the Speaker’s calm, but CONFIDENT, demeanor. He spoke in a measured cadence, articulating his thoughts with great assurance.
He KNOWS what he believes and is therefore, comfortable in his own skin and speaks with certainty. I NEVER had that feeling when McCarthy spoke.
As soon as the communists say they have found missing checks or errant relationships in his past, we’ll know he is going to be effective.
Praying LDotters should lift him up. Regularly.

I am very impressed with Mr. Johnson. If Trump is overwhelmed by all the illegitimate indictments and cannot serve as the nominee or is removed from consideration, I think Mr. Johnson would be a preferable choice to any of the other Republican candidates.

Yes, prayers for the Speaker. But, also continued prayers for more eyes to be opened and hearts to be turned to God for guidance in restoring our nation to Him, so that He can bless us and heal our land.
There will be struggles. Not every heart will turn. Difficulties are part of life on this earth. But, steadfast trust, faith and obedience to God’s word assures His providential care and guidance to overcome them.
That is indeed the worldview that made America great, and it is the only worldview that will restore her to greatness. Learning that there are members of Congress who are sincerely, unashamedly and unapologetically willing to stand firmly & publicly on those biblical principles is the absolute best & most heartening news I’ve heard out of D.C. in much too long.
The forces of evil will redouble their efforts. No doubt about that. But, this is a battle we all can join - in prayer first, and in deed as the way becomes clear. God bless every prayer & effort for good.

#7 is correct. Deep State and the media will be gunning for him. I had high hopes for Mike Pence at the beginning, but time has tarnished the image. Same for W and Romney. McCain, not so much - he seemed like someone they just threw in off the bench. I don't know the man's heart. But the truth is - only God can correct the mess we are in, when we become obedient to Him.

#9, Mike Pence and Mitt Romney are like what #2 said of Bill Clinton. It would seem they carry around the Bible to promote themselves and it is time to get beyond that kind of leadership. We are trillions in debt and that alone should tell a person how highly government thinks of itself. Unfortunately, it places substantial burden on generations to come.

There is a story out there of an interview a few years back Johnson had with a left wing hack about the Floyd death. He completely took the murder by cop angle and said blacks in America face a systematic racism and believed the reaction from some was justified. He was also asked about his black adopted son. Mr. Johnson stated the black adopted kid would have a harder time in life as compared to his white son. Hmmmm

We've been burned too many times by people who wear their religion on their sleeve. In private society as well as public, those who proclaim their piety the loudest are often the most rotten.
Hopefully he is who he appears to be, but it will be time and results that tell; not symbolic gestures.

Many great comments from Ldot brothers, sisters and friends. Time will tell what roll Speaker Johnson will play in the unfolding drama but for the American patriots, we must continue the fight in whatever way we can, in the polling place, the board room, council meeting…and for the believer on his knees. We must ever surrender.

#12, your comment is very true. But, there is a vast difference between those who wear religion on their sleeves, and those who have an obedient love of God in their hearts. It doesn’t take long to see the difference.
Even those who sincerely try to live according to God’s precepts make mistakes. None of us are perfect. But the ones who genuinely follow the Lord and try to live their lives pleasing to Him will be known by how they respond and try to rectify mistakes.

A true 'Bible based World View' includes tolerance for other faiths and keeping one's own view separate from one's official duties and positions. Hope he keeps that.

I am completely at a loss to understand how a Christian constitutionalist got unanimously elected as Speaker in the most corrupt snake pit in the country. Especially when their previous pick was a RINO who wants to eliminate the electoral college. I’m not complaining. I just think there is something very strange about it.

And so it begins....... deliverance is coming and this could be the start. #19 ~ God is sovereign over everything and everyone so I believe His fingerprints can be easily seen in the election for Speaker. But you're correct....when we look at this through the lens of human understanding it really does seem strange!
And to #14 ~ I've read Habakkuk, too and it's very relevant to what's going on today.
We now have a Speaker who seems that he will not only talk the talk but also walk the walk (as opposed to Nancy who from time to time piously and hypocritically tossed around verses of Scripture but who is as far from God as one can be.)
I will pray for Mike Johnson's success in his new position and that he gives it to God each day.

Now we expect Speaker Johnson to release the J6 video tapes and defund Jack Smith's persecution of President Trump. That would be a nice start. Incidentally, we knew he was a righteous, godly man by the way he questioned Wicked Wray and Traitor Mayrokus during one of the hearings (under oath these two lied). We give honor to Matt Gaetz for starting the process of removing McCarthy, the snake, from office.
BTW it has come out that McCarthy these past 3 weeks has been undermining the different ones who were up for Speaker. What a backstabber! McCarthy thought if he could stop anyone from getting elected, they would have to come back to him. That's evil!

i was delighted for mr. johnson.
however, as soon as this man received the unanimous vote, he began intoning
globalist /america last spending plans for taxpayer money.
there is still no word about the defence of america's borders and her injured citizenry.
