Iran’s Foreign Ministry claimed Monday that Hamas was ready to release its hostages if Israel ceases its airstrikes along the Gaza Strip — as the number known to have been taken by the terrorist group rose to at least 199.
Hamas officials are “ready” to release hostages, but doing so would be “impossible” under Israeli airstrikes in the region, Iranian Foreign Ministry Nasser Kanaani relayed at a news conference in Tehran.
The terror group “stated that they are ready to take necessary measures to release the citizens and civilians held by resistant groups, but their point was that such measures require preparations that are impossible under daily bombardment by the Zionists

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden will travel to Israel this week, putting himself in harm’s way to show that he stands squarely with the country as it reels from Hamas’ surprise attack and prepares a ground invasion meant to wipe out the militant group on its border.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced the trip — the president's second foray into an active war zone this year, having traveled to Ukraine in February under the tightest secrecy. Biden is expected to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders during the trip, which may also include a visit to neighboring Egypt. U.S. officials have been discussing with Egypt

Interesting development….
(Via Wall Street Journal) – The U.S. military has selected roughly 2,000 troops to prepare for a potential deployment to support Israel, U.S. defense officials said.
The troops are tasked with missions like advising and medical support, the officials said, and they are from across the U.S. armed services. They aren’t intended to serve in a combat role, the officials said. No infantry have been put on prepare-to-deploy order.

The media and punditry are saying it’s the pressure of Jordan, but really, it’s the pressure of the voters that’s scaring the crap out of the Republicans in the House.
The block of opposition to Jim Jordan’s nomination in the House is crumbling, as their phones, emails and fax machines are being lit up by voters demanding support and threatening a removal primary against any House member who tries to stand in the way of the people.
Jordan has vowed to take his nomination to a House floor vote and force the Republican Party to take a stand. This is a solid strategy that puts any no vote against the will

As Israel prepares a ground invasion of Gaza, a group of Minnesotans is calling for a cease-fire.
On Monday morning, a group of more than 100 Minnesota Jews gathered at Gold Medal Park and then marched roughly half a mile to the office of U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-Minnesota), calling for her support for no more war and violence.
During the hour-long march, they sang Hebrew songs of peace.

I wrote earlier about a couple of the teaser clips from the "60 Minutes" interview with Joe Biden.
Those were bad, but the complete interview was even worse.
First, we should note that there was a little bit of water-carrying for Joe Biden with host Scott Pelley saying that the president was fitting them into his busy schedule on Thursday. Biden had his 10 a.m. daily briefing and a 4:30 meeting where he just had to sit and listen to CEOs, how is that busy? Maybe it's "busy" for an 80-year-old who has so many issues. But that's why he shouldn't even be there.
Biden seemed completely at sea

Once again, former CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley politely offered President Joe Biden a helpful platform to pretend he's taking the tough questions. A year ago, Pelley promoted Biden on more domestic concerns, while this was entirely about the Israel-Hamas war. The worst question was Pelley suggesting "hard-right Republicans" are making the world more dangerous with their failure to elect a new Speaker. (X) PELLEY: The president is asking for billions of dollars for Israel and Ukraine. But Congress is paralyzed. Hard-right Republicans are obstructing the election of a speaker of the house.
[To Biden]: Does the dysfunction that we've seen in Congress increase the danger in the world?

Ivy League schools face a multi-million dollar dip in funding after being blasted for failing to condemn Hamas' terrorist attacks against Israel.
Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania have been hit hardest by the backlash – with a host of alumni calling on the colleges to do better as some revoke their funding entirely.
Billionaires Ken Griffin has called for Harvard to take a robust stance in defense of Israel, and criticized students defending the Hamas attack.

When a country is invaded by a foreign power, the only sane response is to retaliate with massive, overwhelming, disproportionate force. And when an invader commits the kinds of atrocities that we have seen over the last week, unprecedented in modern times, vengeance must be the order of the day.
War is a terrible thing. But the Gazans started this war, and war is what they are going to get. Every resulting casualty should be laid at the foot of Hamas and all Gazans who have supported and collaborated with Hamas–a large majority, by all indications.
But there is something else going on,

Tim Graham for NewsBusters reported that Bret Baier was “stunned” to learn that Leon Panetta has “zero regrets” about exploiting his role as a “civil servant” and discrediting the Hunter Biden laptop story — but how is that possible?
Why would the 51 former intelligence officials who signed the fictitious document saying the Hunter laptop looked like Russian disinformation have regret? Their obvious goal was to destroy President Trump and install Joe Biden, and intentionally hide the truth from the public to accomplish the goal. How could those charged with the task of investigative reporting miss this obnoxiously obvious agenda?
The media and tech companies had the same goal

Another precedent-setting event related to the criminal prosecution of a former president is scheduled for Monday morning in the federal courtroom of Judge Tanya S. Chutkan in Washington.
Special Counsel Jack Smith is asking Chutkan—an Obama appointee with a record of biased and often inaccurate statements about Donald Trump and the events of January 6 in general—to silence the leading GOP presidential contender on a key campaign issue through the heart of the 2024 primary season.
Smith’s prosecutors and Trump’s defense attorneys will square off during what is expected to be a fiery hearing to debate the special counsel’s proposed gag order ostensibly needed to prevent Trump

I typically write my Townhall columns a couple of days ahead of time, and I hope that events don’t overcome this one. Why am I worried? Because what I’m writing about now is the deadly threat that our incompetent elite, led by that senile, corrupt, dust puppet masquerading as our president, have allowed to fester in our country. Last Thursday, I wrote about how the left literally wants to see you raped and murdered. Well, the left has also left the door open for the murderers. Now, half the Third World is waltzing across our southern border, and how do you think this is going to end?
