A scheduled “picnic” sponsored by the University of Nevada Las Vegas law school’s Environmental Law Society has been renamed “Lunch by the Lake” due to “diversity and inclusion” concerns. According to a memo obtained by Libs of TikTok, the law group informed members that the word “picnic” has “historical and offensive connotations,” and apologized for “any harm or discomfort” caused by its use. The group’s view mirrors that of the University of Michigan’s IT department from several years ago: “Picnic” was included in a “Words Matter Task Force’s” list of offensive words and phrases along with “brown bag,” “blacklist” and “long time, no see” among others.

Eventually, all communication will become so stifled and regulated as to inhibit transference of the main idea from one person to another. We will cease to communicate with one another employing the computer to be the intermediary for all interpersonal communication. The "computer" will "filter" and "adjust" what is said using the "awareness's" of the day. Life will continue like this until the next big attack on the USA, at which time all that stupid stuff comes to an abrupt unceremonious end.

Ahhh. So now I get it. We cannot have brown bags, but we can have brown people. And lists can't be black, but people can. I can't begin to imagine the humiliation a young black child might have to endure if he/she/it/they brought a picnic lunch in a brown bag. to an event. Big mistake, punishable by ostracism for life. Long time no see! I hope these word police are busy canceling music lyrics from the past as well. They should start with Elvis himself. What business was it of his if I was lonesome tonight? He was obviously a stalking pedophile and must be immediately erased from history.

Have to give Wikipedia some time to catch up, evidently, since their citation tags “picnic,” as originating in 17th century Europe. These people are nuts and the single reason they even have a forum is the uneducated credulity of the American people. “If you don’t stand for something you’ll fall for anything,” is the phrase that comes to mind. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picnic

Based on how little most people are being educated, I seriously doubt most people had no clue (or cared any longer) any of these words/phrases had any negative connotations. Remember the picture of two little children, one white, one black, holding hands or hugging, and the comment, "hate is something that is taught"? Well, it seems many are teaching people how to hate things, or react to things, they never even imagined they were supposed to.

#7 asks, "Why in the world would anyone hire a lawyer so stupid that they attended UNLV Law School?" Why in the world would you suppose that UNLV's lame behavior in this instance would not be found at any other law school? This is nearly universal among academic institutions in our country, whose law schools are virtually all populated with leftists.

Decades ago there was a term used in engineering known as a "black box." Well "black" became offensive and "box" became offensive. And the two together was offensive out the kazoo. So, I started using the term "opaque enclosure." Astronomers had a similar problem with "black hole." A few decades later astronomers couldn't figure out what was going on in the universe so they used the terms "dark matter" and "dark energy." I hate all of this stuff. One of my favorite sifi movies "The Creature from the Black Lagoon" will have to be renamed. But unless Hillary invades my house I won't have to worry about it.

When it was first revealed that the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” provided funding for 87,000 new IRS agents, Biden administration officials told Americans not to worry. They promised at every turn that these agents would only be set upon those earning over $400,000 a year. (snip) That broken promise comes as no surprise. Earlier this year, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen was cornered into admitting that 90 percent of new audits would affect those earning less than $400,000. The new IG report confirms what Yellen was forced under oath to admit, and what many in Congress knew when they voted for the Inflation Reduction Act.

Two other Islamic militant groups were also involved in the planning, the sources told The Wall Street Journal.
