How did Israel and the U.S. miss what
Hamas was planning?

Original Article

The surprise attack by Hamas on Israel suggests a massive intelligence failure as the Israeli government appeared blindsided by the infiltration of Hamas fighters across the southern border and the launch of thousands of rockets. The Hamas assault by air, land and sea also raised questions as to why U.S. intelligence agencies apparently did not see it coming, experts and former intelligence officials said. U.S. officials said that if the Israelis knew an attack was imminent, they did not share it with Washington. “We were not tracking this,” one senior U.S. military official told NBC News.

Sure - - sure there was a massive terrorist attack - - but white supremacists are being monitored - - and the transgendered continue to gain more equity. That's more than good enough intelligence work for me.

Been wondering if the Ukrainian conflict is impacting Israeli policy in some way. Is Russia involved in some way? Lady Chihuahua wonders if Israel let this attack happen so Hamas would lose support. There are stories that Hamas has killed and kidnapped Israeli-Americans. That would go a long way to silence Israel's critics. If this is the case, doubt Israel ever thought an attack would be of this magnitude.

This wide and co-ordinated operation requires planning. Planning requires chatter. It is inconceivable that US intelligence assets did not have an inkling of this. This war has to start in Washington.

I agree with the obvious - no way was USA intelligence completely unaware of the highly organized efforts going on to start this war. To my mind, this is more confirmation that rogue elements run our CIA and intelligence services. I noticed our media trying hard to avoid use of the word WAR too. WAR was declared on Israel.

There is one other option. Hamas, Iran, and others have figured out a way to bypass Israeli and US surveillance. That would be a major concern. With all the high-tech surveillance, what if Hamas and Iran figured out a low-tech countermeasure?

They're lie and deceive. Constantly. Friend or foe. Eventually we'll find out that many political sympathizers were aware that something was afoot but were lulled into silence under a cascade of lies and reassurances. They might have been told that all of the preparations were for street protests or some form of civil disobedience. This is just one facet of their operation, but a critical source from the fringe remained quiet. It's like when a bulb goes out on a cheap strand of holiday lights.

Amongst all of the discussion and blame on the CIA, FBI, and all of the USA intelligence agencies . . . it would be very helpful if we had a press that was truthful and insightful to bring to the people a clear picture of the way things are, holding officials feet to the fire, rather than the distorted leftist propaganda machines that they are. That certainly includes you NBC and the workers there!

Our “intelligence” agencies are too busy setting up entrapment schemes for conservatives and attending DEI workshops. We’ve got a proxy war with Russia in Ukraine, we are being invaded on our southern border, now the Middle East is popping again, I wonder what else they’re missing. China might see this as an opportune time to move against Taiwan? Or maybe little Rocket man will try to pop off a nuke? We’re going to have the whole world at war pretty soon. I remember saying when FJB was declared president that the world was in for dark times ahead. But he’s exceeded my wildest nightmares.

When your intel comes from electronic means monitored by 9 to 5 public servants in climate controlled offices thousands of miles away with little or no understanding of the local population, it’s politics, issues, history and when it’s efforts are deliberately focused elsewhere by political motivated department heads, cabinet secretaries, congressmen, insiders and media, you get intelligence failures. We missed Pearl Harbor, the Communist invasion of Korea, Stalin’s atomic bomb, Sputnik, Russian missiles in Cuba, every Mideast war, 911, the Russian special military operation in Ukraine and now this. NOT surprised.

Israel’s intelligence failure is a warning

Some people are calling it “Israel’s 9/11.” That makes sense, in that Hamas’ massacre was a totally unexpected massive terrorist attack with a huge body count of innocent people. Not as many people died as on 9/11 (though proportionately to Israel’s population it was worse than 9/11 was for America). Because the assault involved shootings, rapes and kidnappings, it seems somehow more personal than the jets of 9/11. But there’s one way in which it was identical, and that’s the “totally unexpected” part. Like American intelligence agencies before 9/11, Israel’s security services were caught flat-footed. Both American and Israeli officials have said it was a complete surprise.

Amidst the Israel Defense Forces readying to retaliate against the Hamas terrorist group responsible for launching a surprise attack that has now claimed the lives of 900 people, Hamas's leadership is threatening to kill any hostages taken and release footage of these executions for all to see. The message was handed down by Hamas Spokesman Abu Obeida, who released an audio recording of the threat. “From this moment on, we announce that any targeting of innocent civilians without warning will be met — regretfully to say — by executing of the hostages in our custody, and we will be forced to broadcast this execution," said Obeida.

After the worst attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust, Israel has three choices… First, Israel can do what it’s done in the past, and that’s retaliate until the Jew-hating Christiane Amanpour crowd starts their pressure campaign with words like “disproportionate.” The result will be what it’s been for 50 years… Islamic terror attack after Islamic terror attack against Israeli civilians until another massive attack is brought off. Second, Israel can follow America’s lead and launch a namby-pamby forever war. Year after year, decade after decade of “humane war” resulting in a humiliating defeat, more dead Israelis and civilians than an all-out war could ever cause.

The Hamas invasion of Israel is the most significant military action against the Jewish state ever carried out by a terrorist group. The planning for this attack must have begun months ago in Tehran where the bulk of the funds used to arm and train fighters for the attack originated. Anyone who refers to Hamas as “freedom fighters” should have their head examined. The terrorists kidnapped dozens of civilians — infants, old people, women — and are holding them somewhere in Gaza. As the IDF looks to turn back the terrorists who have invaded seven different areas in the South of Israel, they must contend with the eventuality
