The Islamic Republic of Iran’s representative in Lebanon, Sayyed Issa Tabatabai, claimed in an interview that the despotic regime was involved in multiple terror attacks in the Middle East in the 1980s, including the 1983 Beirut truck bombing which killed 220 Marines in their barracks. The audio recording was obtained by The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). It's unclear when it was made. California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) will appoint Laphonza Butler to fill Feinstein’s vacant Senate seat.
“California Gov. Gavin Newsom will appoint EMILY’s List President Laphonza Butler to fill the seat of the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein, elevating the head of a fundraising juggernaut that works to elect Democratic women who support abortion rights, according to a person familiar with the decision.” Politico reported.
Dianne Feinstein died Thursday night at the age of 90. She was the longest-serving woman in the US Senate.
Feinstein was also one of the most corrupt Senators, and that is saying a lot.
Remember when Liz Cheney was going to have a "megaphone" after losing her primary in Wyoming? The idea was that her 40-point defeat would only elevate her, positioning her to speak loudly and forcefully against the supposed excesses of her own party. Cheney was going to protect "democracy" and be well-positioned for a 2024 presidential run.
Well, as usual, those bleating the loudest in the mainstream press were wrong because none of that happened. Instead, she has been heavily marginalized, likely because she's no longer useful to the Democratic Party.

Joe Biden finally emerged from his basement on Sunday, now that a government shutdown was averted.
On Friday, when it looked like there would likely be a shutdown, Biden took an early lid. He had nothing on his schedule for the weekend. Reporters asked White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre if he would be involved in the discussions, but she said he had no meetings planned with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). She said that it wasn't up to Biden to resolve the issues. They basically absolved themselves of any responsibility and claimed he wasn't involved in the process.

Capitol Police is now investigating the matter, and other members of Congress have filed censure and expulsion motions. Apparently, there are an increasing number of kids, with no physical or cognitive disabilities whatsoever, who are entering kindergarten without being potty-trained. This is hard to fathom. In the past, the vast majority of children were fully potty trained around three years old, give or take a couple of months.
However, today kindergarten teachers often report to We Are Teachers that 15-20% of their classroom is not potty-trained, and that even a few first-graders are still in Pull-Ups. (Again, this does not include kids with medical issues, or physical or cognitive disabilities.) Sadly, there is a growing trend of children reaching the age of five without being potty trained.

The recent death of former Sen. Dianne Feinstein left Gov. Gavin Newsom in a predicament. For about a year, I worked in an office that was staffed by what the left might call a diverse crew. One of my coworkers was a black lady, whom I will call Felicia. She was married, with a sixteen-year-old daughter.
