Democratic New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy called on Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., to resign following a federal indictment. U.S. Attorney Damian Williams announced the indictment Friday morning at a press conference. "Today, I'm announcing that my office has obtained a three count indictment charging Senator Robert Menendez, his wife, Nadine Menendez, and three New Jersey businessmen, Wael Hana, Jose Uribe and Fred Daibes for bribery offenses," U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said at a press conference on Friday morning.

Protocol and professionalism has been replaced with populism and identity politics. It seems as if every branch of the government has become ineffective. Leadership is intertwined with corruption and civility/discipline is no longer necessary to these self-serving individuals. Truly sad. . .

Mendacious Menendez will still get all the perks he wanted and expected. He just won't have to go to the office every day. A crony or two might even keep on paying him when he whines that he's lost his job.

It's about optics and convenience. Indictment a known corrupt democrat from a SAFE democrat seat, so that they can claim there is no two tiered justice system. Take Biden off of the front page for a few days. (They didn't have another Trump indictment ready). And reward some other democrat with an appointment. There is no downside for the democrat party.

Yea now. That's it Murphy, act like the tough guy now. Over a year after the search warrants were completed. Murphy knew about this over a year ago but now is the right time politically to hang the guy. You see democrats have saved this little nugget until they needed it. To draw attention away from Biden who is fading before our eyes. Everything they do is a calculated move. Make no mistake, these are pure communists at work. Got it.

It's very difficult to embarrass the state of New Jersey but Big Phil Murphy felt the need to hurry up and distance himself from one of his own who got caught multiple times with his fat snout in the trough. Like the legions of crooked lawyers that we must endure, 95% of congressional democrats continue to give the rest of the democrats a bad name. If this indictment was meant to add to the gaggle of sighted squirrels that are being used to detract from the crimes of the Biden Crime Family, it fizzled as well. Our eyes are still on you and your pathetic son, Joe. I make the sign of the cross every time I see you, Joe, like you did to Netanyahu but that's only because I can't get close enough to throw Holy Water on you.

Democrats act like they didn't know what was going on, or at least suspected. After all, I'm sure they have detailed information on everyone in political office. The corporations who are working with and supporting them should be concerned about their exposure to violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) based on their affiliation.

Little of this story makes sense, it seems to involve Bob helping his soon-to-be wife get her mortgage back above water with the help of some friends with funny last names. All in all it seems trivial, less than 1 million bucks. That's chump-change in Washington. What did Bob really do to get him in this fix?

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Sen. Bob Menendez’s defense against new federal corruption charges against him, his wife and business associates Friday revealed that he’s adopting the same defiant stance he took when he faced federal accusations nearly a decade ago. A three-term senator who has held office at every level across New Jersey’s rough-and-tumble political landscape, Menendez vowed to fight the latest set of charges and questioned the veracity of the indictment. In almost the same language he used in 2017 after a mistrial on federal corruption charges, he cast the indictment Friday in political terms and vowed to continue his work in the Senate.

That question used to be rhetorical and used to signify a definite and emphatic yes to any statement. In 2023, however, it is less sure — particularly in light of one Catholic cleric who aired his dissenting opinion. The idea that this medical hoax shuttered churches caused many to suspect a sinister underlying force. More and more Catholicclergy are voicing publicly their concerns about the direction of Pope Francis’s papacy in videos and podcasts.

The Biden administration is setting a booby trap in case a Republican wins the presidency in 2024. On Friday, the White House unveiled a proposed rule that would make it even harder than in the past for an incoming Republican president to wrestle control of the left-leaning federal bureaucracy and actually implement the conservative policies promised to voters. Of the 2.2 million federal civil workers, only 4,000 are presidential appointees. The rest stay in their jobs, from one administration to the next, protected by rules that make it nearly impossible to discipline or replace them.

Americans have long been critical of politicians and skeptical of the federal government. But today, Americans’ views of politics and elected officials are unrelentingly negative, with little hope of improvement on the horizon. Majorities say the political process is dominated by special interests, flooded with campaign cash and mired in partisan warfare. Elected officials are widely viewed as self-serving and ineffective. A comprehensive new Pew Research Center study of the state of the nation’s politics finds no single focal point for the public’s dissatisfaction. There is widespread criticism of the three branches of government, both political parties, as well as political leaders and candidates for office.

Truthfully, the Iranian regime has been taking Americans hostage and holding them for ransom since the overthrow of the Shah of Iran back in 1979. Unfortunately, contrary to America’s long claimed official policy of not paying ransom for hostages, with regards to Iran, every single time the United States has acquiesced to Iranian demands in order to get our people back.
