Math for Dummies

It is an inconvenient truth that various ethnic groups do not, on average, perform equally well on objective measures if intellectual accomplishment. Mathematics is particularly problematic, in that results are hard to fudge–basically, answers are either right or wrong. Liberals have responded to this conundrum by dumbing down one discipline after another. Their theory is that if they lower standards far enough, they will arrive at a point where racial and ethnic differences disappear. I doubt that this strategy can ever actually work, but the result in mathematics is especially embarrassing, as the inevitable decline in performance is hard to hide. Some trees in the forest grow taller than others. That is a problem for those who value equity above all else. Since the shorter trees cannot grow taller by themselves, the only solution is a chainsaw. Big Brother will own and operate all chainsaws.

Not "Math for dummies." More like math for slaves. People who can do math will be enslaved by those newly powerful minorities who couldn't be bothered. Reminds me of an old history lesson: A couple hundred years ago British historian tried to find a Muslim who could explain how they built all those domes that required intricate math. No Muslim could do it but one explained to him about how they enslaved smart Byzantinian people who they forced into making all their domes.

Math has been an issue for decades now. They started in grade school with not making kids memorize their addition and times tables. Then they said they could use calculators to do simple math problems. Then in middle school they don't have to learn algebra and geometry rules / theorems - they can use their computers to do the problems. Anyone else see an issue here ?

When the powers that be keep lowering standards doesn’t that mean that they are resigned to minorities being less intelligent than whites? Instead of keeping the standards high and making achievement a goal, they would rather pull the rug out from under minorities and in reality are telling them they are not as smart as. They don’t seem to want to encourage excellence but instead demand mediocrity.

The tyranny of the stupid and lazy. And intelligent, hard working students will just leave the public schools in droves, and they will become even LESS relevant to anything than they already are. Leftists and racists destroy everything they touch. NOTHING is equal in outcome, the only possible things is equal OPPORTUNITY, which used to be the name of the whole thing. But, given exactly equal opportunities the lazy and the stupid still are lazy and stupid, and do not accomplish as much as the hard working and intelligent. Nothing will EVER change that.

There are multiple reasons why ethnic groups perform differently in math. Historical, social, cultural and genetic. Until we have the sense and courage to accept and admit the last one, all so called solutions are doomed to fail.

Slave owners kept their people "uneducated" because it was easier to control an ignorant person than someone who could think for himself. Nothing has changed. It is time for those black people who are tired of the CA plantation to speak up. Either their children can learn or they cannot. No more excuses. Me thinks this is more a cultural issue than a brain power issue. 2 + 2 = 4. That is not a white answer or a black answer. It is the answer. We have told blacks (and other blacks have chimed in) there is no need to speak correct English, or write correctly using proper verb tense, math is also not necessary, and we all know how they are rewriting history and reading is an unnecessary skill. There are no prizes for being the most ignorant person in the room so stop striving for that goal. The dumber you are the more they want to "help" you. We are not all the same. We have different strengths and weaknesses and general differences. But when you agree to be ignorant that is different. They are telling us that men are and can become women, women are really not necessary, mothers are "egg producers", and a Supreme Court cannot give us a definition of what a woman is (HINT: and adult human female). Why in the world would you allow them to tell you that the more ignorant you and your children are the better it is for you.

The newly created 'Science' of Relativism meets the age old Science of Absolutes. When Sociology Majors gain the reigns of power, bad things happen. When these people dumb down every field of study requiring more rigor and discipline than theirs, which is almost everything, then they shouldn't be surprised when the world around them begins to look like the movie, "Idiocracy." Next thing you know, they'll be demanding boys dress up like girls and compete in beauty pageants. Oh, wait, what's this? /s

I taught math for adults at work for two years. Started with 35 students, but once they realized that it I was going to call on them and they would look foolish if they weren't paying any attention, and they would have to actually learn something...many dropped out. I finished up with about 8 students who were just extremely happy to have learned some algebra, and we worked extensively on word problems. I asked, "Has anyone ever asked you "If X=3+Y, and Y= blah, blah, blah" have they? They agreed, but I said, but sometimes you can have a problem that you can't figure out except with math, and that problem will come as WORDS. At the end of the algebra text, I asked if there was anything else that they wanted to learn in math. Two asked about trigonometry, saying that they had heard "it's real hard". I explained what it was, and that there was a "practical trig" that I could pretty easily teach. They asked for it, I got management permission and we did practical trig. At the end, a janitor for our company said he was now able to lay out the hexagonal table that he had wanted to make, being a home woodworking hobbyist. I like math. I'm sad for those who fear and hate it.

Good point about the nature of math. It is either right or wrong. No opinion, emotion, gender, or ethnicity about it. Therefore we must blame failure to learn math as racist, climate-based, or whatever other excuses are convenient. Every young member of our department is either Hispanic or Indian. All are on visas. What does that say?

I’ve often heard it said that many of our sins are tied directly to pride, and it’s easy to see why. There’s an element of pride that runs through just about all the sins we commit. Our pride can drive us to lie, want what belongs to others, take what’s not ours, and so much more. Proverbs 16:18 tells us, “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” The Apostle Paul reminded the Corinthian church that we shouldn’t ever take pride over gratitude to God for our accomplishments when he wrote, “’Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.’ For it is not the one who commends

“It’s like murdering babies!” So said one lawyer defending the latest federal indictment of President Trump against the charge that it seeks to throw Trump in jail for exercising his First Amendment rights. Many legal experts argue that an indictment for criminal conspiracy cannot just be about First Amendment-protected activity. Others argue that a conspiracy may include all sorts of legally protected activity, like purchasing knives or driving to the scene of a crime, but conspiracy to murder babies is a crime because murder is a crime. The anti-indictment experts are right. The others miss the point. First, the legal basics: a standard criminal conspiracy comprises two parts:

Some of China’s biggest automakers are looking to skirt United States tariffs and flood the nation’s auto market with cheap Electric Vehicles (EVs) — a move that would further crush American auto workers and the domestic plants where they work. According to Automotive News, Chinese-owned Volvo Cars is hoping to use the little-known Duty Drawback Program to “recoup import duties and the 25 percent U.S. tariff assessed on the Chinese-made Volvo EX30 crossover and Polestar 2 sedan against exports of the U.S.-made Volvo EX90 and Polestar 3 crossovers.” General Motors (GM) has been using the Duty Drawback Program for years to mitigate United States tariffs on its Chinese-made Buick Envision Crossover.

The Left is doing everything possible to poke the GOP base into nominating this man, even though Joe Biden could face impeachment hearings next year. The media will have to revisit the Hunter Biden bribery scandal soon enough.
