After briefly pausing its war on inflation last month, the Federal Reserve is resuming the battle by hiking its benchmark interest rate to the highest level in 22 years. The central bank concluded a two-day policy meeting on Wednesday by announcing that it is raising the federal funds rate by a quarter of a percentage point, lifting the Fed's target rate to between 5.25% and 5.5%. The Fed left the door open to further rate hikes this year, with Chair Jerome Powell telling reporters in a news conference that additional tightening is possible unless inflation continues to cool rapidly. US officials are searching for Chinese malware hidden in various defense systems that could disrupt military communications and resupply operations, The New York Times reported Saturday. The administration believes malicious computer code has been hidden inside “networks controlling power grids, communications systems and water supplies that feed military bases,” officials told the Times. The discovery has heightened concerns that hackers could “disrupt US military operations in the event of a conflict,” according to the Times. The two nations have been increasingly at odds over Taiwan as well as over China’s actions in the Indo-Pacific. One congressional official told the newspaper that the malware was “a ticking time bomb” that could allow China

Former President Donald Trump was in Iowa on Friday, along with some of the other Republican candidates for president in 2024, at the Iowa GOP Lincoln Day Dinner event. Trump wrapped up the night, and several other candidates spoke before him. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis spoke out against Bidenomics and cracked a joke about the cocaine in the White House, indicating that it never would have happened, had he been in the White House. As we reported earlier, things didn’t go well for former Texas congressman and now almost unknown candidate, Will Hurd. He took a jab at Trump, saying Trump wasn’t running to make America Great Again, but to stay out

President Joe Biden forgot to sign an executive order as “The Washington Post March” was playing him out after he delivered remarks on “Bidenomics” in Auburn, Maine, on Friday. “God bless you all, and may God protect our troops. Thank you very much,” Biden concluded before going to shake hands. After a few moments, Biden made his way away from the crowd and said, “I’m coming back to shake your hands, but I forgot to sign the order. All that talk and no action.” The executive order is on “federal research and support of domestic manufacturing in the United States,” he said.

A series of internal Facebook emails obtained by the House Judiciary Committee confirm that the Biden White House placed significant pressure on the company to crack down on “misinformation” related to the Covid pandemic in early 2021. The emails, released publicly by committee chairman Jim Jordan on Thursday, suggest that in some cases Facebook and Instagram complied with the White House’s content-moderation requests in order to avoid public and private backlash. One April 2021 email sent by a Facebook employee on behalf of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg acknowledged that, “We are facing continued pressure from external stakeholders, including the [Biden] White House.”

Lawyers for Donald Trump were told Thursday by prosecutors to expect an indictment against the former president in connection with his efforts to reverse his loss in the 2020 election, NBC News reported. Trump's lawyers Todd Blanche and John Lauro met Thursday morning in Washington, D.C., with prosecutors for Department of Justice special counsel Jack Smith and were informed of the planned indictment, according to NBC. At around the same time, the grand jury that could soon vote on criminally charging Trump assembled in Washington federal court. Multiple members of that panel were seen entering the E. It is a small study, but a very disturbing one. We keep being told that injury to the heart from the COVID vaccine is very rare, but a study done in Basel Switzerland indicates that the rate of subclinical myocarditis after the COVID vaccine is hardly rare at all. In fact, in a study with only 777 participants with a median age of 37--all medical professionals getting the COVID vaccine–the incidence of elevated cardiac enzymes 3 days after injection was pretty substantial, at almost 3%. The CDC did a study and from that, they claimed the rate was 0.001%, or one out of 100,000. 2.8% is a lot higher than 0.001%. Another 0.3%

On Wednesday, Hunter Biden appeared in federal court in Delaware to plead guilty to two misdemeanors for failing to pay millions in federal taxes and to accept a pre-trial diversion agreement on a gun charge, all in exchange for two years probation with no jail time. The sweetheart plea deal that was widely panned by experts fell apart in court and was ultimately rejected by the judge, forcing Hunter Biden to plead “not guilty.” Suddenly, the president’s son’s “Get Out of Jail Free” card was gone, and the Democrats’ hopes of putting the Hunter Biden saga behind them were dashed. Biden absurdly claimed, “Wages are up after being adjusted for inflation.” Real wages are down 3% since Joe Biden was installed in January 2021. Maybe they’ll decide to impeach me because it is coming down. I don’t know. I love that one, uh, anyway, that’s another story…” Biden said.
