Trump is facing a possible third indictment for his actions during and after the 2020 election that led to the riot at the United States Capitol. However, Pence, a current GOP presidential candidate, said that while he believes Trump asking him to overturn the 2020 election results was reckless, "based on what I know, I'm not yet convinced that they were criminal." "Let me be very clear: Donald Trump was wrong that day, and he's still wrong asserting that I had the right to overturn the election," Pence said. "But what his intentions were — and as you know, criminal charges have everything to do with intent,

Many people say Trump tried to ‘overturn’ the election. Is this true, or was Pence’s job to refer certain election areas for further review? Or was it somewhere in between.

#1, FWIW, the law that allowed the Vice President to slow the certification of electors for further review in case of conflicting state results—the ones that the GOPe and the dems have repeatedly told us never existed—was quickly and quietly changed by Congress in early 2021. Just sayin’…

The election in Georgia was approved with two illegally appointed electors. They had been appointed past the date allowable so they were not legally able to vote. They did. Mike Pence, as Vice President, had the power to throw out the election results in Georgia because of this. He refused. He stabbed Trump in the back and did not do his job. Does he really think anyone is listening to him?

Pence is trying to buy a few "leaners" who haven't seen enough to convince them someone else might have the testicular fortitude to clean house on day One. In his first term, he was a businessman with a lot of savvy. NOW, he is a businessman who has gone through trial fire two dozen times. I want the candidate who has shown me growth and courage. I only see one such candidate... and it ain't Pence.

Mike Pence is digging himself a very big hole. He will eventually be confronted by Trump about this. Pres Trump NEVER asked him to overturn an election and Pence knows this. Trump wanted him to ask for election review of certain areas of the country. His dishonesty is going to get him in a lot of trouble.

The first time I saw / heard him, he struck me has far too nice, soft spoken, no fire, every bit just 'go along to get along', don't make wave or rock the boat, IOW, wallpaper, a pushover. My opinion hasn't changed. He had his chance and blew it. IMHO, I suspect some $$$ changed hands or veiled threats whispered or both - just my gut talking and my opinion.

How magnanimous of him! But that ship sailed in 2020, and the most self-serving politicians in both parties are trying to benefit from it. We saw they were willing to lie to influence the election in 2016. And in 2020 nothing changed. More lies, more smears, more attacks. It makes perfect sense that January 6 became a propaganda tool of the left, whereby busloads of agitators carrying weapons and expensive equipment (funded by whom?) helped promote violence for the cameras, while those in power made sure to deny reinforcements to the Capitol Police for hours after they were requested. The left's mission was accomplished. Instead of election integrity and the people who ignored the rules becoming the issue, a vast media campaign made President Donald Trump, who ran on putting America First into the "problem." It's so strange that the damage continues unabated, our quality of life has deteriorated, yet those who created the conditions we're now forced to live under, seem to have no fear of being thrown out of office. Does that even make sense?

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) has called upon the Republican donor class to start pressuring low-polling GOP candidates into dropping out of the 2024 presidential race to defeat Trump. Romney issued his call in a Wall Street Journal op-ed published Monday. He said that the donor class needs to pressure candidates with no path to drop out by February of next year at the very latest.“Despite Donald Trump’s apparent inevitability, a baker’s dozen Republicans are hoping to become the party’s 2024 nominee for president,” he wrote. “That is possible for any of them if the field narrows to a two-person race before Mr. Trump has the nomination sewn up.”

Tens of thousands of illegal aliens across Massachusetts are rushing to secure driver’s licenses after voters approved a law to extend driving privileges to those in the United States illegally. Data from the state’s Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV), published by Chris Van Buskirk of the Boston Herald, shows that about 100,000 requests for appointments to get a learner’s permit have been placed since July 1, when the law took effect. The majority, tens of thousands, of those requests are likely illegal aliens who were given the right to a driver’s license in Massachusetts after voters approved the law in a statewide ballot initiative late last year.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has proposed a policy (pdf) that would remove nearly all existing portable gas generators from the market. The new rule restricts the amount of carbon monoxide that generators can emit by forcing these generators to switch off when they reach a certain level of emissions.
