Ahead of the dual-blockbuster opening weekend for Oppenheimer and Barbie, independent film Sound of Freedom has cemented its status as a surprise summer hit after surging past $100 million at the box office.
Since its July 4 release date, the Angel Studios thriller about child sex trafficking has upended industry expectations, raking in nearly seven times its $14.5 million budget in North American ticket sales.
Last weekend, it comfortably outpaced pricey blockbusters like Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and on Wednesday it edged past Tom Cruise's new Mission: Impossible installment in single-day ticket sales.

If people believe there is a big problem with human traffic in the US they are delusional. During the last year of the Trump administration (2019) federal statistics state that there were 1,883 incidents of human trafficking in the US. There were 1607 incidents of commercial sex traffic and 274 incidents of involuntary servitude. This film is obviously influenced by Qanon. It is hard to tell if RFK Jr or Qanon conspiracy theories are less credible. I am changing parties and registering Democrat to vote against RFK Jr. Why don't we send Dog the Bounty Hunter around the world to fight this. Please stop being so gullible.

Simply amazing. And to think this movie sat on a shelf for 5 years trying to get it distributed. Hopefully the profits will help make more high-quality films that are not left-wing fantasies.

I think the best part of this whole issue is that this movie is playing in HALF the number of theaters, and the theater chains are screwing around with the movie so that ticket holders can't see it. Just think, Disney could have had all this money in their coffers if they had only grown a spine and told the woke crowd where to jump off.

Name calling is the reason I was hesitant to start posting. Is it possible to have a substantive discussion. I hate to tell you how to insult people but usually you have to say something you know insulting. I don't know what the definition of lefty stooge is. Could you define it. Is it meant to be an insult? As the Chairman of the Senate Ways and Means Committee I was a legal staffer for used to say "I will give your statement the consideration it is due."

This movie will hit $200mm, and Hollywood will still not get it. Our theaters here in Michigan are full this weekend...and the local chain added another theater to handle the demand.

#1&6 - You are obviously a new poster. Welcome, and as a newbie you should review our Lucianne site rules. Second posts are frowned upon. You also may want to refresh your memory, or familiarize yourself with the old childhood rhyme; "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me!"
Human trafficking is real; for domestic servants, for slave labor in sub-standard factories and for the sex trade. The sex trade includes not only prostitution, but also the porn video industry with the two often intertwining. Unfortunately, the reality is that young children are a very lucrative market, with the United States being the biggest in the world. Joe Biden's wide-open U.S. border has allowed several hundreds of thousands of undocumented illegal aliens into our country. U.S. Immigration has stopped DNA testing of family groups to prove that parents and children belong to each other. This simple test stopped child traffickers, but now they can walk past Border Patrol claiming five girls the same age are all their daughters. They only people who are denying this reality are Democrat political operatives, such as folks who were a legal staffer for a Democrat Senate Committee Chairman.
"Sound of Freedom" has awakened the American public to this rampant evil and they are righteously disgusted. Their eyes have been opened; what has been seen cannot be unseen. They also know during President Trump's term we had a secure border with our immigration laws enforced and the wall close to completion. With President Bidet our border is wide open to every terrorist, human trafficker, cartel criminal, and enemy soldier that wants to stroll across. We can see with our eyes the reality of life in America, and we also saw reality portrayed in "Sound of Freedom". We've also seen the movie "Gaslight", and know Democrats now spell it "Qanon".

Stop by your local Walmart and take a quick look at their missing child board. The United States has a human trafficking problem. It's being made much worse by Biden's illegal immigration policies.

Disney basically threw this movie away.
So Indy 5 crashes & burns to over a $150M loss while Sound of Freedom soars.

Q has not been active or credible for years. In his heyday he gave some of us hope that this blatantly corrupt, pedophile government might see justice in our lifetimes. Those hopes were dashed years ago.
Now the communists are invoking his name to try to remove credibility to that which is not only credible, but repeatedly proven. They did the same thing with "alt right" a while back. They are trying to muddy the water so heavily that we cant see the alligator right in front of us.

I have a friend who works for the state police. Human trafficking is really bad even in my red state. People are trafficked for sex yes, but also for sweat shop labor. It's a real problem that has only gotten worse since the border is wide open.

I personally know several medical / hospital employees in San Antonio. According to them, when the child victims of the Uvalde school shootings were brought to the ER, there was at least one (and probably more) pediatrician already at the ER and ready to help save at least one Uvalde victim. The reason the pediatrician was there is because a bunch of kids, around 35 if I recall correctly, had been rescued from a trafficking site and some of those kids had been taken to the same hospital earlier in the day. You did not hear about the trafficked kids on the national news, only the ones that fit the narrative of the gun controllers.

I went to see this movie yesterday knowing there was some controversy about it, but ignorant about why. After a day to digest it, I still can't fault the movie itself. Maybe I'm stupid, but I didn't detect any hidden agenda or politics. The movie was about human trafficking. Leave any knowledge of the actors out of it, and the message at the end seemed to me to be apolitical. I remember seeing "13 Hours" (and later bought the DVD), and expecting to see Hillary exposed as the scum she is, but that was not what that movie was about. I saw a gripping movie about people fighting for survival. So, forget the noise about "Sound of Freedom" and go see the movie. I found it to be intense.

Invoking Q Anon conspiracies seems to be a taking point for major media criticism of Sound of Freedom. Also, slurs against RFK's well researched views on Covid-19 are very often unjustified.
Why the strong opposition to this film?
I watched the below interview last night with Jordan Peterson, Tim Ballard, and Jim Caviezel (Sound of Freedom) and found it to be fascinating, informative, and very credible. It is lengthy, but I think it is worth your while.

P.S. Jeffrey Epstein's activities can well be classified as "conspiracy theories," although well documented and true. Not much about that in public for some reason.

#17 is my experience also. Packed house midweek, and not a scintilla of the accusations in evidence in the film.
There was one particular moment when it became obvious what has triggered the anger of the left, and there was an audible reaction in the audience at that moment. When the protagonists were planning an island resort to lure pedophiles and rescue their victims, a map with shown, and the association with the Epstein island was unmistakable.
That’s it. It was obvious to the audience, and I’ll bet that none of the left wing critical reviewer’s mentioned it at all. They can’t. They are choking on it; it’s the millstone around their neck, to refer to a biblical quote in the film.

I wonder if this movie will even be mentioned at the Oscars. I'm guessing it won't. As for #1. They must be fine with almost 1900 cases of human trafficking. Of course, that number is only the reported number of trafficking. The actual number is much higher.

Interesting that there are people who approve of child trafficking at this sight...I can only assume that anyone who can't see the outrage for these kids ...is not right in the head...it's a perversion on society...and I'm thrilled that WE the people have supported this film...perhaps I'll have the courage to go see it this weekend...

#1, there was a report last month about an unaccompanied nine year old girl who was picked up by Border Patrol. She had clearly been raped. The doctors found 67 different samples of DNA in her vagina. Are you saying that that’s not a problem?

We’ll, seeing how “QAnon” (or as us sane people call it, “Q”) was a Deep State Psy-Op, their reference to this is laughable.

I’m just back from seeing it with my husband. Theater was full. #21, don’t hesitate to see it - it’s an amazing story and it’s told with no graphic depictions of what happens to those kids. You know what’s going on but you don’t see it.
I’ve come to the conclusion that half the people of this country have been taken over by Satan. How else to explain the attacks on this movie? Sane people would be shouting from the rooftops to close the border and save these kids. But I guess that’s too much to expect from the same crowd which loves abortion and the pedophile in the WH.
