Florida on Saturday became the most recent U.S state to allow people to carry a concealed gun without a government-issued permit.
The state joins 25 others in allows for so-called "conceal carry," but those wanting to do so in Florida still must pass a background check and go through a three-day waiting period to purchase a gun.
Other states that do not require a license to conceal carry include Alabama, Kansas and Oklahoma.
The law went into effect July 1, after Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the legislative measure into law in April.
There were no reports Saturday of problems related to the law going into effect.

I believe it's more than 26. There are some states with conditions and Vermont has been Constitutional since 1791. That's why Vermont is such a shooting gallery /s

Here in WV we have been constitutional carry since 2016. Interestingly, it didnt effect the criminals at all. They always did carry. It just gave honest folks a bit of an equalizer.

Our local sheriff has recorded a public service message to Floridians and visitors, saying that open carry is not legal in most Florida locations, and that there are certain places (schools, post offices, courthouses, professional sporting events, bars, etc.) where carrying a gun is not legal. It's up to the individual to familiarize himself with what he has to do to carry legally. (Most gun stores should have the 400 page book of Florida gun regulations. There are some states in which guns can be carried into bars, but Florida is not one of them. You can't even carry if you're seated adjacent to a bar in a restaurant.
There are some six million paroled American felons in all fifty states. 1.5 million of them have moved to Florida. There were about 2.5 million Florida permit holders prior to this new law being passed and signed. The odds are now slightly more in our favor, but it's still a dangerous world out there.

OK, now more than half of the states recognize that "the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" means precisely that. Bearing is important. Some states require concealment, others are fine with open carry or concealed carry. I believe Florida requires concealment. It doesn't scare the sheep.
It the Second Amendment isn't actually complex at all, the words are quite simple.
Our founding fathers didn't write that after coming back from a target match or a hunting trip. They wrote it after spending years defeating the most powerful army and navy on the planet at that time in battle, with many of the combatants bearing their own personal firearms. Essentially all the arms at the beginning were privately owned guns.
And up to and including the Civil War it was clear that "arms" was not limited, and including artillery, although cannon were somewhat uncommon to own privately because of the huge cost to purchase and the extremely expensive ammunition costs. But private militias DID own cannons, and it was legal. A number of private ships were outfitted with cannons and sailed as 'privateers' to interdict British trade during the Revolutionary War. Basically militia on the seas. They got 'letters of marque' to distinguish them from pirates in legal treatment.
Unfortunately, I doubt we'll ever get that part of the 2nd Amendment back.

Good. I am all for it. A Wyoming state legislator worked hard to obtain conceal carry reciprocity with surrounding states including liberal Colorado. I can carry a gun in my car in legal compliance from Wyoming to Arizona.

Every moron gun hater seizes on the words ' well regulated militia.' Since they think history started with their birth, they run around with their hair on fire screaming we need to ban guns.
Well regulated was the phrase at that time that meant well supplied. Militia was every citizen who could hoist a firearm. So it is obvious that the Federal government owes me some firearms and associated supplies. I have my own uniform. If they can't do that punish actual criminals and let the rest of the citizens alone. Also, stop the invasion. That IS your job.
