US Navy detected an implosion Sunday and

The US Navy detected an acoustic signature consistent with an implosion on Sunday in the general area where the Titanic-bound submersible was diving when it lost communication with its mother ship, a senior Navy official told CNN. The Navy then immediately relayed that information to the on-scene commanders leading the search effort, and it was used to narrow down the area of the search, the official said. But the sound of the implosion was determined to be “not definitive,” the official said, and the multinational efforts to find the submersible continued as a search and rescue effort. “Any chance of saving a life is worth continuing the mission,” the official said.

That system of North Atlantic "not definitive" (public) sound signatures assures the security and survival of the United States.

In another report, it is likely the implosion occurred before anyone knew the craft was missing.

Years ago (a lot of years ago), I read about the guys going deep in the Bathysphere. A round vessel made to handle the immense pressure because it spread the pressure evenly. This “Titan” was like a short, 22 foot tube with an observation bubble in front. Once the immense pressure found an entry, it was over in a millisecond. My prayers to the family.

Imagine being inside that carbon fiber coffin when it imploded. I don’t really know what happens to a human body suddenly subjected to that pressure. I just know it ain’t pretty.

Evidently poorly built. The Navy is just now releasing it heard an implosion only after the debris have been found. They could have spared a lot of anxiety (waiting and hoping they don't sufficate) by forwarding they may have heard an implosion. I suspected that or total electrical failure when they lost contact on the way down.

#11, if they had released the info on Sunday, the headlines might have been about Hunter Biden and his sweetheart deal. They managed to divert a good bit of attention with the delay. Now dementia Joe will be claiming that Beau died on the Titanic.

I wonder how many deep dive cycles that pressure hull had undergone? Was the carbon fiber material made more brittle by the cold and pressure stress? Thousands of eager lawyers are waiting to hear.

#4 & 5 - not sure what you are referring to but I have had a highly successful 40 year career which included overseeing the design, building and implementation of the highest rated pressure and temperature oil field service equipment in the world without a single incident in the lab or field. Just because I'm in Louisiana doesn't mean the people here are MM (if they were they'd be dead) - they all have gone back to their families safe each night based on their intelligence and attention to details, including all mandatory safety guidelines. If you are referring to the the Deepwater Horizon incident, I can't give you details for legal reasons but the service personnel out their from Louisiana had no say or connection to that explosion other than being its victims.

The head of Russia's Wagner mercenary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said the Kremlin's justifications for its invasion of Ukraine are based on lies, in another extraordinary attack on the country's military and political leadership. Prigozhin, a key ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a video posted Friday contradicted the public explanations for the war, including the central claim made by Putin that the 2022 invasion was necessary to prevent an attack from Ukraine. Since launching the war, Putin has painted it as a defensive operation to protect Russia. He's claimed it was needed to stop imminent large-scale attacks from Ukraine on largely Russian-speaking eastern regions in Donbas

Washington — The Supreme Court on Friday cleared the way for the Biden administration to reinstate rules that instruct Immigration and Customs Enforcement to focus its deportation efforts in the U.S. interior on immigrants with serious criminal convictions and those deemed to threaten national security. The court found that Texas and Louisiana, the two states that challenged the administration's guidelines, lacked standing to bring the suit, formally known as United States v. Texas. The ruling was 8-1, with only Justice Samuel Alito dissenting. Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote the opinion for the majority, joined by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson.

Is this another sign that the Democrats are preparing to move on from Joe Biden in 2024? I don’t know, but CNN’s newfound willingness to fact-check Biden seems significant. Here, CNN finds that pretty much everything Biden says about firearms, among other things, is wrong: He made at least five false claims related to guns, a subject on which he has repeatedly been inaccurate during his presidency. He also made a false claim about the extent of his support from environmental groups. And he used incorrect figures about the population of Africa, his own travel history and how much renewable energy Texas uses.

House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., introduced resolutions Thursday to expunge Trump’s first impeachment from December 2019 and his second from January 2021. Those resolutions would expunge what the lawmakers are calling "unconstitutional" impeachments and make it legally as if the articles "had never passed the full House of Representatives." "The American people know Democrats weaponized the power of impeachment against President Donald Trump to advance their own extreme political agenda," Stefanik told Fox News Digital.

The US Navy revealed that they knew the Titan submersible, which was diving to see the remains of the Titanic wreck, imploded on Sunday. We have sonar detection and acoustic networks for our national defense, and this classified system picked up the moment when this craft and the five people inside it perished. So, why did we waste an inordinate amount of time rushing to rescue people some in the government knew to be dead? The Coast Guard, Canadian military units, and unmanned submersibles from France that can go to these extreme depths joined the rescue effort that covered at least 10,000 square miles.
