I-95 is going to take months to repair, sparking chaos on the major interstate that funnels 150,000 vehicles across the East Coast every day, officials have warned.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro last night said the highway was going to take 'some months' before it is running smoothly again following the overpass collapse.
It comes as vehicles were already backed up on Monday morning as commuters faced long delays following the tanker explosion on Sunday morning.Meanwhile rescuers have been battling to reach a vehicle trapped in the rubble of the highway collapse, with officials saying the situation 'remains fluid'.

Notice the “supply chain” narrative that they have been beating for months. Lots of “random” accidents have been happening. Puppet strings.

Remember the 2021 1 Trillion $$$ infrastructure bill? Has any of that $$$ been spent on infrastructure? Where is Butt Pete? Has he noticed that part of his transportation infrastructure collapsed yesterday? Or is he still lactating?

“ The collapsed section of I-95 was part of a $212million reconstruction project that wrapped up four years ago.”
A. Four years ago should mean that either the Feds or PA Transportation have details on what, if anything, was rebuilt/replaced/reinforced or most likely, neglected in the project.
B. Doesn’t Fed Transportation have contingency plans for such collapses. With lists of materials and contractors required to rebuild quickly and an approximate price.
C. Florida’s Governor DeSantis had the hurricane destroyed bridge to Sanibel and Captiva Islands replaced in less than a month. Have feeling that Biden and his clowns will take 3 to 4 months to fix bridge. With loyal Democrats rewarded with rich contracts.

I guess if you had to have a tanker full of gasoline crash, catch on fire and cause the collapse of a freeway overpass, Sunday morning at 6am is probably the best time.

The overpass would have been maintained by union labor in Philadelphia. I'm surprised that it even stood on its own this long. I have to admit this is a more spectacular accident than a burning chicken farm. Butt Judge will make a statement on the dangers of gasoline in a week or two when somebody writes it for him.

How convenient that a tanker full of fuel just happens to blow up under the major north south highway on the east coast. The timing couldn't have been more perfect. Has anyone heard why the tanker had the accident right there? Did it run into the overpass? The road looks plenty wide enough. No sharp turns.

While tough for Philly commuters, most of the East Coast through-traffic goes through New Jersey. Remember, they built the Empire State Building in 15 months. This is a measly overpass on a closed road. It should be weeks and not months.

We'll see how well this crisis is handled by Federal officials in the Biden Administration, PA officials in Democrat Governor Shapiro's administration, and local Philadelphia officials, where the Democrats have ruled for decades.
As poster #4 indicates, their response is not likely to compare well to Florida's recent response to hurricane damage.
Actually, the Dems are at risk here IMO. A crisis like this that is not handled well can influence the political leanings of local residents. Imagine the Dems actually taking the blame for something important.

Yeah poster #14, there are many who live in this area that so richly deserve the chaos.
I feel for the people who didn't vote for the democommies, and for the people whose votes were stolen. The rest of them can take a long walk on a short pier.

After the Northridge earthquake leveled the I-10 bridge in LA, all stops were removed to get it rebuilt and open. It was completed and open in about 75 days. Just get it done, morons.

If they really want this road up and running in a hurry, they could almost certainly use standard, off the shelf steel wide flange beams to build a temporary replacement. Instead of the perhaps five special, custom steel beams that might be structurally and economically ideal, they could use 10 or 12 standard beams, depending on what they can find sitting in a steel supplier's stock now.
It may not be as cost effective and good looking as a custom designed system, and may require temporary piers, or other "temp fixes", perhaps a temporary steel decking, which has cost and traction limits, but SOMETHING could be done in a hurry if anyone actually was willing, competent and interested in solving this problem quickly.
Politicians, at least 80% of them....really don't give a damn about anything except about their graft.

Pete Butt noticeably absent again. That's what we get when it's all identity over competence. Assume it will be more of the same regarding the rebuilding of the bridge. They may never finish it. Wokeism and infrastructure don't mix.

Hey it takes a while for Pete to alert his staff to find his bicycle and drive it within a block of the crash site so he can pedal on up to the podium.

No way this will get repaired quickly. They will have to be careful to contract the repairs to the "right" kind of people. You know, have to make sure there are sufficient numbers of minorities and trannies and various LGBTQLSMFTEIEIO types working on it rather than a bunch of old white guys.

I'm sure they'll figure out how to raise the state gas tax as excuse to pay for this event, and then craft a super deal that pays the contractor, who will be a good friend and contributor to the Democrats, an amazing bonus to complete the job in record time.
It will result in lots of overtime for the union workers too.

The engineering was done for the build 4 years ago, the beams and other material should be on order today, rush priority. Get the material allocated, staged, so as soon as the sight is cleared and prepped, the rebuilding material is well on it's way, if not already there.

Re #24, your points are all good....and while I certainly haven't checked on custom beam fabrication lead times, my bet is that delivery under a year might be unlikely. I'd be happy to be wrong, but lots of specialty fabrication stuff is always way backed up, IME.
