Following the news of a dramatic rescue of four children lost in the Amazon jungle, Colombia's far-left president, Gustavo Petro, praised the children who survived in that fearsome wilderness for 40 days as "children of the jungle."
"The jungle saved them" Petro said. "They are children of the jungle, and now they are also children of Colombia.
"Children of the jungle"?
That's like calling children who survived a nuclear meltdown "children of the reactor" or kids who survived under earthquake rubble "children of the temblor." Does anyone call champion surfer Bethany Hamilton, who was injured in a shark attack as a young girl a "child of the shark"?

Oath Keepers founder and political prisoner Stewart Rhodes was sentenced on Thursday, May 25th, in Washington, DC.
Far-left Obama-appointed US District Judge Amit Mehta on Thursday sentenced Rhodes to 18 years in federal prison. This was after he added extra years to his sentence because he believed Rhodes’ actions amounted to terrorism. This was completely ludicrous. The soulless judge then lectured him on what a danger he was to society.
Rhodes is currently 57. If this kangaroo court’s conviction stands, Rhodes will be 75 when he is released.(snip) Yet, a DC kangaroo court found him guilty of sedition for attending a Trump rally.

The U.S. House of Representatives should immediately vote to approve an impeachment investigation into President Joe Biden on suspicion of bribery in the wake of new evidence emerging from the FBI’s 1023 form.
That document, handed over to Congress only after the House Oversight Committee threatened to charge FBI Director Christopher Wray with contempt, reportedly describes a $5 million foreign scheme to bribe Biden. As I wrote in March, there were already ample grounds to investigate Biden for bribery — one of only two crimes specifically mentioned in the Constitution as grounds for impeachment and removal from office.

On Friday, Jennifer Granholm, Joe Biden’s Secretary of Energy, informed Congress that she lied during her confirmation hearings.
High-ranking government officials responsible for shaping policies are expected to refrain from owning stocks that could potentially create conflicts of interest. Granholm did not completely divest herself of all the stocks she possessed, and she retained six stocks in her portfolio.During her confirmation proceedings, when questioned by the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, she declared under oath that she did not own any individual stocks and conveniently omitted mentioning the six stocks she still held at that time.

Ohio Senate Republican candidate Bernie Moreno told Breitbart News Saturday that the indictment of former President Donald Trump is meant to serve as a “chilling effect” to stifle those who may want to challenge the government “orthodoxy.”
Moreno said the indictment of Trump serves as the latest instance of a two-tiered justice system. He explained to Breitbart News Saturday host Matthew Boyle:
It’s clearly a two-tiered justice system. If you’re a liberal, you’re a leftist, if you’re somebody that agrees that the administrative state should run the country, not elected officials, then you’re going to be somebody that is not chased down by that administrative state.

Now here’s an interesting case. A group of Muslims is suing the FBI, claiming religious discrimination over surveillance that the feds carried out a few years after 9/11. The hard-Left ACLU and the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) are siding with the plaintiffs, which ordinarily would be a massive red flag impugning their case, but the FBI’s entire case is based on its trustworthiness as an institution. And after all we have seen over the last few years, can anyone really trust the FBI? Time Magazine reported Thursday that the case is based on the activities of a reckless FBI informant

News of former President Donald Trump’s indictment by a Miami grand jury Thursday was stunning, if not entirely surprising. There had been indications leading up to the announcement that it was imminent. One would be hard-pressed to find people who don’t have an opinion regarding the former president, and the same holds true regarding the latest indictment.
According to a new ABC/Ipsos Poll, fielded June 9-10, 2023, nearly half of those surveyed believe Trump should have been indicted (regarding the classified document retention). The poll found 48 percent of the 910 respondents agree that Trump should have been charged with a crime in this case, while 35 percent

The Sunday London Times, out today, has a long, long article about the origins of the covid-19 virus in the lab at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Until the far-off day when Chinese sources open up honestly, it will stand as definitive proof of not just the lab leak hypothesis, but the conclusion that covid-19 was a human creation. Its conclusions are unqualified:
Scientists in Wuhan working alongside the Chinese military were combining the world’s most deadly coronaviruses to create a new mutant virus just as the pandemic began.
Investigators who scrutinised top-secret intercepted communications and scientific research believe Chinese scientists were running a covert project of dangerous experiments

Regardless of what you think about the Trump indictment, it’s hard not to believe that it smacks of the Democrats’ endless attempts to nail Donald Trump for — something. We’ve gotten used to it over the past few years, and these legal maneuvers always seem to play out the same way.

There is a reason that, since before the time of the emperor Tiberius, treason trials have been a favorite tool of totalitarians. Such proceedings allow them to get rid of nearly anyone they dislike.
