PGA Tour MERGES with rival LIV Golf to

The PGA Tour has done a complete about-face by merging with rival LIV Golf less than one year after PGA commissioner Jay Monahan told reporters that such an arrangement was 'off the table.' In a shocking move that was unknown to PGA stars and LIV commissioner Greg Norman until Tuesday morning, the PGA and European Tours have signed an agreement with the Saudi-backed circuit to combine their businesses into a new, yet-to-be-named company. Most importantly, the merger ends the ongoing litigation between the two sides. Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed. The move represents a major victory for LIV Golf,

I'm glad to see this, and wish success to all the world's professional tours. The European DP Tour is also a part of this arrangement. More money and more competition are good things.

Maybe they can now dump the bizarre background music LIV uses. It always sounded like someone with adjoining property was having a BBQ or something. So stupid. It was hard not to catch some LIV broadcasts, too many great players to ignore. Golf just got a whole lot more fun. It'll be funny if Taylor Gooch dominates. I wonder if David Feherty will continue being as free speaking as LIV lets him be.

Greg Norman's vision of World Golf is coming true. The irony is it took Saudi money to make it become a reality. Complaints about Saudi involvement were weak when compared to Chinese involvement win World Golf. The Chicoms are teaching their citizens and children to hate and "kill" Americans and the West.

I liked golf better when it was plain ol' cow pasture pool, and the stakes were a local brew. This big money and big business stuff doesn't interest me in the least.

The LIV tour players result in the PGA Championship did it. A LIV tour player won, and a few ended up in the top ten. I tried to watch LIV tournaments, but for me it's almost unwatchable. I don't get the team aspect of it. Plus, the courses they play on from what I've seen look like poorly run public courses. This split pro tour just wasn't going to work from the get-go. We want to watch the best players in the world play on one tour and that's it.

The PGA players, some who turned down big money from the Saudis, should team up with some other billionaires and form a new league and throw a monkey wrench into this merger.

I said from the start that LIV was not bad for golf and that the PGA resistance was a bad thing. Anything that increases interest in the game and promotes golf, is good for golf. Infighting and petty jealousy was bad for both parties with 99.9999% of the bad stuff coming from the PGA side. Glad this is done. Crybabies, like Rory and others, tough luck boys, you chose wrong.

Hours after former Vice President Mike Pence officially announced his candidacy for president, he joined CNN’s Dana Bash for a town hall event where he was asked questions on a variety of topics by both Bash and a live studio audience. Among the issues asked was whether Pence would let parents get their children sex change surgeries in the name of parental rights. “I want to ask you about another issue related to this, and that is about what's going on in some legislatures,” Bash started off asking. “Some Republican-controlled states have banned transgender children from receiving gender-affirming care, even with the consent of their parents.”

Superman actor Dean Cain has become the latest Hollywood star to flee California for states that are friendlier to the film industry, such as Nevada, Texas and Louisiana. Cain appeared on Fox and Friends on Wednesday to say he had been driven from his $7.25 million home in Malibu to Las Vegas, where he said there is less traffic and lower taxes, and added that his peers are leaving 'in droves'. 'I love California. It's the most beautiful state. Everything's wonderful about it except for the policies,' Cain told Fox News' Brian Kilmeade. 'The policies are just terrible. The fiscal policies, the soft-on-crime policies, the homelessness policies.'

WASHINGTON— The Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday called off a vote on a contempt of Congress charge against FBI Director Christopher Wray, accepting a last-minute offer by the bureau to allow the full committee access to a confidential document of an unverified tip about President Joe Biden. Rep. James Comer said in a statement that the committee is removing a contempt resolution against Wray from Thursday’s schedule after receiving an accommodation that would give the full committee access to the document. “Allowing all Oversight Committee members to review this record is an important step toward conducting oversight of the FBI and holding it accountable to the American people,”

Wildfires raging across six of Canada's 13 provinces and territories have caused havoc nationwide for the last six weeks - forcing mass evacuations and burning through more than 3.3 million hectares of land, larger than the state of Maryland. With the smoke now billowing down to the East Coast of the United States, affecting 75 million Americans, the dire threat to Canada's forests has come into sharp focus. Some blame lax forest management, arguing that not enough controlled burns are being carried out thanks to campaigns by environmentalists.

Reports are circulating that federal prosecutors are about to ask a grand jury to indict former President Donald Trump over his handling of classified documents after leaving office. If those reports are true, and prosecutors do move against Trump, it would be the first time in American history that the government had prosecuted the leading opposition candidate. It would also destroy public faith in the rule of law and voters’ trust in democracy. The documents charges are incredibly weak, from what has been reported publicly thus far. A leading UK school has banned pupils from addressing staff as “Sir” or “Miss” — calling it a battle against “cultural misogyny” inspired by the principal’s “sage,” Taylor Swift. Harris Westminster Sixth Form executive principal James Handscombe introduced the policy in an assembly at his London school Monday, saying it was “part of a wider reset” that couldn’t be left up to “old men to fix.” “We are changing the way that students refer to staff … No longer will it be acceptable to call us “Sir” or “Miss,'” he said, noting the inspiration of Swift singing “F–k the patriarchy.”
