It’s Not Reparations Being Demanded;
It’s Something Quite Different

Original Article

Democrats frequently talk about compensation for slavery and Jim Crow in the form of reparations for black Americans. Indeed, House member Cori Bush recently proposed $14 trillion as a good place to start. Any reparations plan would be extraordinarily complex. First, if reparations are to be paid, to whom would they be paid? To every one of America’s 45 million blacks? Would that include the 4.5 million blacks who immigrated after Jim Crow was gone? Should the 33 million black Americans age 50 or below whose lives have all occurred since the Voting and Civil Rights Acts passed? How about black families whose ancestors lived in northern states

If reparations are to be paid (and they shouldn't) they should be completely non-taxable. So that the very government responsible for slavery is not giving itself a windfall.

Good article. The relative comparison between income and life expectancy between the USA and Africa truly puts things in perspective and shows that indeed reparations are due. I'll accept cash, check and PayPal.

The destruction of the country is the plan. Reparations is only one of the means the left is employing.

"... the African kings were rounding up their own people. They had them in cages, waiting in the beaches....If reparations need to be paid, we need to go right back to the beginning of that supply chain and say, ‘Who was rounding up their own people and having them handcuffed in cages. Absolutely, that’s where they should start." British royals expert Hilary Fordwich responding to Don Lemon about reparations

How about no more free stuff for anybody? Work for your food or starve. How about each black radical spend a period of four years in Africa and receive an attitude adjustment? How about appreciating the country that lets you whine like a baby and stomp your feet without getting spanked for it? How about competing on an actual level playing field with everybody else instead of receiving every advantage known to man, still failing and making excuses for it?

Democrats have been dangling this idea in front of Blacks for years. It has won votes from the extremely naive. There will not be any reparations. Any State that actually tries to do it will have to hike taxes enormously to pay for it. The U-Haul traffic leaving the State would be backed up for miles. There is no money for this, and as the article points out, no way to apportion payments. Anyway the looters and shoplifters already got their share.

I would suggest that all of those seeking reparations tour Gettysburgh cemeteries or one of the other Civil War cemeteries. Those thousands of graves ARE YOUR REPARATIONS. Give it up, you deserve nothing except the honor of living in America. Get a job!

Why are US citizens being asked for reparations and most other countries are not? Because we have the money. This is a classic legal tactic that goes after the people/company/government that has the money to pay. Further, as the article indicates, the process would be extremely complex and would require an army of lawyers and administrators managing trillions of dollars. The group would effectively become a shadow government that would have NO accountability to anyone and would be personally enriched by it far beyond any person benefits distributed. This is a scam against the American people, INCLUDING the people who would supposedly be the beneficiaries. Then, when the reparation welfare ends and the money dries up, what are the "beneficiaries" going to do as their income collapses and they have not joined the productivity process that is the country's strength? A lot of Black "suffering" is because they reject the "White" process of education, work, and personal responsibility. A temporary money flow is NOT going to fix that.

If those demanding reparations were honest about it, the first group they would be going after is the African tribes who sold other Africans into slavery. Without those African tribal "merchants" there would've been no slaves to buy.

fta..."It’s not reparations that are being demanded, it’s revenge, which is a completely different thing altogether." Came across a quote regarding revenge..."Do not seek revenge and call it justice". How many of these 'justice warriors' aren't looking for justice at all? The entire reparations meme is a scam.

What about 'black' people who are the descendants of slaveholders, like Kamala Harris? Does she Pay or Receive 'Reparations'? This whole thing is nonsense, designed to divide the country against itself. By the way, stirring up internal dissent and trouble is a classic Chinese tactic to weaken a country before they invade. With a country dealing with serious internal conflicts, there is little or no organized resistance to the Chinese invasion. The Chinese have done this several times down through history..... no reason to believe that they have abandoned this tactic.

Since they want reparations, then they should likewise be accountable for the costs they’ve imposed upon the country. Welfare, crime, institutions, free association, and those little costs of anti-crime measures. I guarantee they will owe America once the accounting’s done.

Once again, Canada, America’s nutty neo-fascist neighbor to the north, has broken new ground in Leftist weirdness. As you know all too well at this point, it is Pride month here, there, and everywhere. And Canada is no exception. The current ruling class of Canucks has never met a progressive mantra it didn’t enthusiastically embrace. But unlike a certain brand of peanut butter cups whose name I cannot mention, sometimes two great tastes don’t go great together. Not too long ago, San Francisco was still a remarkably beautiful city, although even then it could change on a dime. One could be in the midst of a leisurely stroll down a gorgeous street filled with chic cafes, turn a corner, and find oneself without warning in the middle of a large crowd of menacing homeless drug addicts. Now, after decades of far-Left misrule that has picked up speed in the wake of the COVID hysteria, the city’s dirty, degrading, and dangerous areas are growing rapidly and taking the whole place over, and the city’s remaining sane people are fleeing. The end is near for the Golden Gate City:

I wrote earlier about how Joe Biden treats the press like dirt and his staff does all they can to keep him from answering questions. Biden had a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday. Credible allegations of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election have resulted in profound misgivings among Americans. Many conservatives have become disillusioned with the Republican party, especially at the national level where the gap between rhetoric and results has grown enormously. However, the nation has experienced similar circumstances in the past. What lessons can we draw from the history of previous elections? The 1960 election was a pivotal point in American politics. Given that only one in five current Americans were alive then, as well as the continuing decline in proficiency in history and civics, let us consider how this contest compares to our most recent presidential election.

Noonan argues that electing Donald Trump again would destroy the Republican party. Peggy may be right, and I hope that she is. Trump’s success in 2016 was, in large part, due to the way that he took the mechanisms of the Republican political machine and used them to secure victory. He ran a third-party-style campaign within the structure of the Republican party. The “party” as a corporate entity was against him, but grassroots Republicans in name and philosophy were all in for candidate Donald Trump.
