HOUSTON - Exxon Mobil Corp and Chevron Corp shareholders on Wednesday overwhelmingly rejected calls for stronger measures to mitigate climate change, dismissing more than a dozen climate-related proposals at their annual meetings.
The results supported the two largest U.S. oil producers in resisting pressure from investor groups calling for the pair to follow European rivals in accepting tougher emissions reductions goals.
Despite efforts by Shell PLC, BP PLC and TotalEnergies, protesters still stormed their shareholder meetings this year, seeking a faster shift away from fossil fuels. Their demands similarly failed.
Exxon and Chevron's meetings were online, avoiding similar protests.

Good. The crackpot element is under control.

If they want to control the companies they need to own shares, otherwise take a hike.

I did my part (via proxy voting). Now we shareholders need to organize to eject the woke activist board members who wormed their way onto the board.

IF they were honest, the 'protesters' should be happy, as Exxon and Chevron did their part by holding their meetings online.
Just think of all the EEEEeevil 'Carbon Emissions' that were NOT generated because all the attendees did NOT travel (using that EEevil Gasoline, Diesel, and Jet Fuel) to get there, and all the electricity (mostly generated by that EEeevil Coal and Natural Gas) saved by NOT using some big convention center, and having to run the lights and the air conditioning in the building. Not to mention all the attendant Eeevil 'Carbon Emissions' that were NOT generated by all the people who would have had to go to work to prepare for the convention, print the programs, make and set up the decorations, run the convention, operate the hotels and the whole supply chain needed to supply and operate the restaurants for the convention-goers.
This is in stark contrast to the UN Climate Gurus who hold big conventions every couple of years, chowing down on Caviar and Foie Gras (I am NOT kidding!) in exotic, remote locations. Conventions that themselves generate more EEeevil 'Carbon Emissions' than, as I understand, the annual 'Carbon Emissions' of the 100 least-Carbon Emitting nations on earth.
These same 'Protesters' say not a Peep about China putting a new Eeeevil COAL-Fired Power Plant into service Every Week for the last couple of years!
But, these 'Protesters' are not honest. When you peel away all the Camouflage, they are a bunch of Communists bent on destroying Western Civilization.
Don't believe me on the Chinese power plants? Here's a link to the Lefty's favorite, the Commie News Network:

Carbon dioxide is a beneficial nutrient gas to enable and enhance growth of all green plants.
Carbon dioxide is good.
The atmosphere is currently experiencing a historic, and critical shortage of carbon dioxide which has limited the growth of green plants and food for all animals and humans.
More carbon dioxide is good for all living things.

Weird. It’s like they’re killing our food supply and our fuel supply and our durable goods supply on purpose.

They know that the "climate measures" are meant to restrict gas-powered vehicles to the point where they can't be manufactured to comply with the nonsensical warping of science.

Also, in support of #7 and #8, folks can review their high school chemistry and recall that carbon dioxide does not and cannot retain heat. Sorry for the bad news, greenies out there.

I sold “my” company (we had a PE backer) to another public company that Exxon acquired and so have a sufficient enough block of Excon stock that I got calls.
There are board members who supported this garbage.
I’m tempted to name names.

These companies are wise to reject this insanity! The Paris Accord to reduce carbon dioxide emissions exempt China, India and other “developing nations” from doing anything to reduce emissions until after 2030. At the rate that China and India are increasing emissions, even if the developed nation reduced their emissions to zero, China and India alone will have increased their emissions to equal or exceed the reductions of the developed nations.
The developed nations will have destroyed their economies for nothing.

All of these proposals are just noise. There is no viable replacement for fossil fuels and none on the horizon. Bowing down to the climate change gods is not going to change that. Buying overpriced and inconvenient electric vehicles is not going to change that either. The production of electricity requires fossil fuels. Anyone with an IQ over 100 gets that.
