House Republicans voted to send a measure to expel Rep. George Santos back to the Ethics Committee, buying the embattled congressman more time until a probe into his conduct wraps up.
All Republicans voted to send the matter to Ethics, seven Democrats voted 'present' while the others voted against moving the resolution back to committee.
Santos himself voted with Republicans to send the matter to Ethics. He told reporters following the vote that 'everybody is innocent until proven guilty' and thanked leadership for 'allowing this procedure.'

President Joe Biden arrived to stormy weather in Hiroshima, Japan, on Thursday for his meeting with G7 leaders as the U.S. debt crisis cast a cloud over the global summit.
Biden hurried down the lower stairs of Air Force One, carrying an umbrella as rain poured down. He is accompanied on the trip by granddaughter Maisy.
U.S. Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel - the former Chicago mayor and White House chief of staff - was among the greeters. Biden's first meeting of the summit was with the host, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
'It's wonderful to see you again - and in your own hometown,' Biden told Kishida

When nations die, they do so with surprising speed. Ernest Hemingway made a similar observation when a person in his novel was asked how he went bankrupt, and his reply was, "Gradually, then suddenly."
Nations are built upon classical values — perseverance, self-reliance, and honor. A great nation is one whose values have made it unusually prosperous. In its latter days, the nation becomes hollowed out and burdened with a costly, top-heavy government. The middle class is expected to provide generosity to the masses. Over time, traditional values fade away, and everyone seeks to live off everyone else.

Washington -Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis will officially enter the 2024 U.S. presidential race next week, according to two sources familiar with the decision, immediately becoming Donald Trump's biggest rival for the Republican nomination and shaking up a contest that largely has been one-sided.
DeSantis will likely file paperwork declaring his candidacy on May 25 to coincide with a donor meeting in Miami, with a more formal launch the week of May 29, according to a source. The invitation for the May 25 event stated that donors would be put to “work,” an apparent allusion to raising money for DeSantis,

President Biden would defeat former President Donald Trump by an even bigger margin than in 2020 if the election was held today, a new poll claims.
There were 1,571 registered voters polled between May 10-13, revealing that Biden would lead Trump 47 percent to 40 percent, according to the WPA Intelligence survey results shared with The New York Post.
In 2020, Biden defeated Trump by 4.5 percent in the popular vote, but if the election were held today, Biden would win by a whopping seven percent, the poll claimed.

FBI agents Ashley Roberts and Kathleen Brown showed up at the childhood home of pro-life activist Elise Ketch on April 18 around 2:45 pm.
According to the Ring cameral footage obtained by the Daily Signal, the agents asked to speak with Elise Ketch.
Ketch is a member of PAAU, a progressive anti-abortion group.“We are both with the FBI,” Ashley Roberts told Ketch’s mother. “We just need to speak with her regarding some information that was sent to us.”
“We would tell you all the information because, like I said, she’s not in any trouble, but just out of respect for her, we’d like to speak with her first,”

Democrats will fight tooth and nail to keep people from indulging in their God-given rights as free Americans.
Former President Obama suggested that the U.S. follow in Australia's footsteps when combatting mass shootings by banning Americans' right to own firearms. "You know, in Australia, they had one mass shooting 50 years ago, and they said, 'No, we're not doing that anymore,'" Obama told CBS's Nate Burleson. "That is normally how you would expect society to respond when your children are at risk. We are unique among advanced, developed nations in tolerating, on a routine basis, gun violence

The unclassified report released by Special Counsel John H. Durham on the misbehavior of the FBI in the Crossfire Hurricane operation – the investigation into the Trump-Russia collusion hoax – confirms that the FBI had no basis for even opening an investigation. Agency personnel disregarded the careful protocols that are designed to prevent abusive, meritless investigations, particularly politically biased investigations that could affect the outcome of an election. And they treated claims made against the Clinton campaign much more cautiously and favorably than claims made against the Trump campaign.

Megyn Kelly, Caitlyn Jenner, and others reacted on Wednesday to reports that Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and her mom Doria Ragland were involved in a “near catastrophic car chase” with paparazzi while in New York City.

Democrats and commentators reacted dismissively to the conclusion this week of a long-awaited investigation into the origins of the Russian collusion inquiry, with some critics of special counsel John Durham citing a 2019 inquiry to claim the matter had already been settled.
The Justice Department’s inspector general, Michael Horowitz, did indeed examine FBI conduct in the Russia investigation during the Trump administration. Horowitz’s findings were highly critical of the FBI and came with a list of recommendations for sweeping changes to the bureau, many of which its leaders adopted.

New revelations have continued to emerge since Monday's release of Special Counsel John Durham's 300-page report following his four-year $6.5 million investigation that concluded the FBI 'failed to uphold their mission of strict fidelity to the law.'
Buried inside the dense document, which blasts the FBI for opening a full-blown investigation of the 2016 Trump campaign based on 'raw' intelligence tips, are insights into how the Russia probe got started, and links between people in Hillary Clinton's orbit and the stream of information on Trump's Russia contacts.
It also points out what Durham calls an unfair discrepancy: why the Trump camp didn't get a 'defensive briefing'
