Our deeply divided nation is reunited at last! We cannot agree on whether dismembering children in the womb is a monstrous crime or a basic human right. We can’t agree on whether men can become champion female swimmers. We certainly will never agree on whether a jaw-droppingly corrupt kleptocrat deep in the throes of dementia should even have gotten near the Oval Office. We argue over whether the Founding Fathers were slaveowners to be despised or visionaries of freedom to be revered. But there is one thing we do agree on: we all loathe Bud Light. Sorry Mr. Spencer but I think you’ve missed the point. There is still a fundamental and tectonic divide. Even before Mulvaney nearly everyone could agree that Bud Light wasn’t a great product. It was already declining in sales. But to say that people who were morally sickened by the ad vs people who believe the depravity didn’t go far enough is still a big problem. The fact is, each group has no interest in joining hands with the other and, to borrow a pithy quote from Jordan Peterson, that’s that.

Bud Light's 'Mulvaney Moment' will forever be a case study in business schools about 'how NOT to advertise'. But I don't think the leftist supporters of LBTQ have ever been beer drinkers in the first place let alone Bud Light. The lefts 'rejection' is just posturing.

I finally found an issue I can agree with the left on and the freaks of the trans community. Regardless of their motivations they have picked the correct side to be on regarding Dylan Mulvaney. The result will be the same and that is so long Bud-Light and Budweiser Beer products in general.

America's Right and Left can be redefined as those who must be told what to do, how to do it and even what to believe. The other side will fight the whip, the bridle and the leash and insist upon the freedom to make their own choices. Bud Light's marketing genius could have chosen Patriotism, any form of Wildlife, Music or Sport to highlight their watery beverage. Instead, she chose something that is contrary to God's will, to basic human decency and common sense. She lost due to extremely bad judgement and outright stupidity. Marketing campaign failed, lesson learned.

Now how did that old Toyota ad go? Oh, ya. "who could ask for anything more?" Now Bud Light is fighting on two fronts. People will be talking about this in business school classes for a LONG time. I doubt Bud Light will ever be a B-School case study. Whoever put it together would have to admit that going "all-in" with the trans community was a mistake unless they also characterize all of A-B's departed customers as homophobes. Then the discussion becomes "how to market to homophobes (or get them back)," or "is tanking your brands and stock price worth being on the 'right' side of the progressive agenda of the day?" They'll never ask the obvious question, "should corporations stay away from politics and the culture wars?"

Ate at a local pizza parlor last night and every beer on the menu but one was an A-B product. I asked 'haven't you got anything that's not A-B', and the server smiled and suggested an IPA beer. It was very good. Maybe more beer drinkers should experiment a little as long as you don't give you $$ to Anheuser-Busch. (they have dozens of brands.)

Joe Biden is apparently suffering from delusions of grandeur. Despite his disastrous presidency, which has given us historic inflation, record high gas prices, a border crisis, a supply chain crisis, and countless Kamala Harris interviews, he fancies himself to be one of the most qualified presidential candidates in American history. During an MSNBC interview, Biden was asked why, at 82 years old, he is the right fit for “the most important job in the world.” It’s a surprising question to hear from someone from MSNBC, but it was not as surprising as Biden’s response was ridiculous. “Because I have acquired a hell of a lot of wisdom.

Joe Biden’s idea of engaging directly with the media is submitting himself to the rigors of MSNBC “reporter” Stephanie Ruhle, who is an unusually lightweight and ideologically partisan media figure. “You can’t handle the truth” is one of the most famous lines Hollywood has ever given movie audiences. In the 1992 classic “A Few Good Men,” hard-charging Marine Col. Nathan Jessup, played by the legendary Jack Nicholson, is firing back at JAG lawyer Daniel Kaffee, played by Tom Cruise in one of his greatest roles. During cross-examination, the young lawyer has steadily cornered Jessup, backing him into acknowledging what, up until that point, the politically well-connected senior officer has concealed. What we often forget, absorbed in the intensity of the courtroom drama unfolding, is the phrase that prompts Jessup’s rage. “I want the truth,” Kaffee says. That’s us —

My friend and colleague, Dr. Maryanne Demasi has been studying the use of statins for years. She just had her meta analysis published in "JAMA Internal Medicine." This is an extremely important paper.(snip)The public health mantra about cholesterol has always been “the lower, the better.” This has been reflected in expert guidelines which have called on doctors to aggressively lower their patient’s ‘bad’ LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) with statin drugs to prevent heart disease. However, our new analysis published in JAMA Internal Medicine (paywalled) challenges that notion. Over the years, influential researchers such as the Cholesterol Treatment Trialists (CTT) at Oxford University, have monopolised the scientific debate on statins. But there are three problems with the various CTT analyses:
