President Joe Biden brushed his decision not to attend King Charles III's coronation on Saturday during a softball interview with MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle by saying: 'I told him I couldn't be there because I have this going on.'
Biden, 80, said that he told the king that he would be in the United Kingdom during the summer during the NATO conference. 'He's a good acquaintance and we've worked together on environmental issues,' the president said of King Charles III.
The president dispatched his wife to represent the US at the celebrations in London.

Yes, there is a lot going on -- dementia, incontinence, and the tendency to either wander off or fall asleep unexpectedly. Staying away from the coronation was someone's very good idea.

American presidents traditionally do not attend coronations. When Queen Elizabeth was crowned, the American delegation was headed by General George Marshall.

RE#5 I would hardly call it a tradition of US presidents not attending British coronations since this is only the second since commercial trans Atlantic air travel became a thing.

He's not mentally capable of attending a function like this. The press is covering it up pretty well but it's slowly leaking out about his dementia.

The usurper in chief prides himself on his Irish heritage more than his American citizenship. This guy hates our closest ally with a passion. I wish he hated MS13 this much.

Thank God he didn't go. He would only be a laughing stock for the world to see. At least Jill can carry on a conversation and find her way around a room.

It's understandable that Eisenhower would not go to the coronation of QEII. They were deep in the details of ending the Korean War in June 1953. And he had only been president for a few months at the time.

Joe Biden can't handle a three hour work day, imagine how a long coronation ceremony would drain his batteries. He would probably fall asleep across the Queen's lap while sniffing her whatever.

"No American President has attended a coronation of a British Monarch. President Dwight D. Eisenhower was invited to the last crowning of a British sovereign—in 1953 when Queen Elizabeth formally took the throne—but decided to skip it and send a delegation of American luminaries instead."

Yes, #15, but he was a half hour late due to getting caught in traffic because he refused to take the transportation set up for all of the other heads of state. Their tardiness caused he and Jill to be seated way back in one of the side sections of the cathedral where he sat and played with his tongue during the service.

Dear Englanders, you dodged a bullet here. Joe couldn't have sat that long without having a pretty messy accident. Plain launguage? He would have shart himself on those pretty seats.

Yeah, he acts with vigah (to quote JFK), doesn't he? Just a human Tasmanian devil, a veritable cyclone of virility and resolute action that can't be restrained. Look! He just trotted three steps because his loafers are light. No, because he's an athlete. Of course, people are also saying, sotto voce, that the Resident pillock has quietly been calling a lid on entire days, not working at all, not even showing up, just taking a
24 hour nap because he's a beaten old codger with one foot in the grave. One of my heroes, a wise man named Lee Trevino, once said, "The older I get, the better I used to be." Mr. Trevino really was that good. The Resident, having gone down in his own personal version of a screwhead's hall of fame, was never any good, and hollering about himself just makes him look ridiculous.

SloJo's first priority is to stay in the basement counting the
coins he's stolen from US (and others). No time for
anything else. Admit it. He continually lies to us. He's
yet to speak a truthful comment. Garbled, yes. Truthful, no!
