In today's ridiculous news, I present this picture:
Here's
@JohnKerry
at the coronation on Saturday and whaddaya know? He appears to have found those medals he proudly, flamboyantly threw away in an antiwar protest in 1971. In case you were wondering whether Kerry is still a phony, the answer is yes — yes, he is.
Kerry is famous for tossing his Vietnam war medals over a fence, or at least, saying he did, before he later said it was just his ribbons, and then later still saying it (was) some other guy's medals.

The medals he threw over the fence weren't his medals. They belonged to some other poor sap and the protestors let Jon Francios Cary (who served in Vietnam, by the way) toss them over the fence. No doubt his medals were safely at one of his estates.

An arrogant jerk. Americans do not ever wear their medals ( earned or unearned ) on civilian clothes.

Time to re-read the classic John Kerry story of military heroics, Unfit for Command, by the Swift Boat Vets.

I can understand Kerry wearing his medals. Its fashionable in Jolly Ole England. Besides, the coronation was a target rich environment for Kerry. Think of all those rich widows attending!

It IS permissible to wear military medals and ribbons on civilian clothing (I looked it up on Military.com) but I find it a bit ostentatious. Not that I'm ashamed or embarrassed of my service but if I'm wearing awards I'm wearing them on the uniform (and then only for certain occasions like a formal or a Change of Watch ceremony)

How Pathetic is that! He pins on Medals to make himself "Somebody" at the Coronation. Didn't work because I watched the whole thing and not once did I hear his name mentioned. I had no idea he was even there ! So, I guess he can throw those Medals back into the Box he's been storing them in. Personally, I have never seen anyone in this country pin their Medals on a Suit (not a Uniform) so was it even Proper for him to do so?

Hindsight being what it is and the antic of GWB notwithstanding. I'm glad that the actions of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth helped topedo (see what I did there) John Francisco Kerry's presidential aspirations.

I was nauseous reading this. (I had read the article posted yesterday, but for some reason, this was worse.)
How is it that John, I-served-in-Viet Nam, Heinz Kerry has moved past PIAPS on my list if Insufferables.
(BTW: where is PIAPS these days?)

There are a great many in and associated with the goings on of the District of Columbia that are completely made of plastic but John F. Kerry is unique in that he is truly only an ugly, horse-faced plastic sphincter within which you will find his empty head... Fly away forever, John, in Terrasa's poisonous, fumes-belching private jet which she allows you to think is yours (silly fool that you are, you believe her).

I remember reading several years ago that Kerry had all of his medals and ribbons framed and on display in his senate office. He really is a completely odious creature. No wonder Teresa needs those gin-soaked raisins.

They say that Kerry was only in Vietnam for a few weeks, when a in country tour of duty was one year for everyone else in the military. Obviously Kerry was there to punch his ticket to claim all those medals when most legitimate infantrymen who spent a year in combat did not received such medals. Then after Kerry returned back in the USA and found that being a Vietnam veteran was a serious liability within the anti Vietnam War liberal Democrat Party of that time for anyone wanting to become a future liberal Democrat politician. So Kerry’s next step was to publicly toss his supposedly his medals over a fence. Now when he showed up in very patriotic Britain there Kerry was wearing the medals that he supposedly threw away! No doubt the USA dodged a bullet when Kerry lost his presidential election.

Medals and ribbons may be purchased at commercial military supply stores upon proof of the award stated on the veteran’s DD 214 along with identification.

I have MANY family members, some still living, others who have died who have earned many medals, including Purple Hearts and heroism medals.
I have NEVER seen any of them wear their medals on civilian clothing, only on their uniforms. AFAIK this is not normally done.

Veterans are "Allowed" to wear their medals on civilian clothes, particularly to formal functions. The dressiest... Blacktie/white tie, requires the use of the miniature versions not the full size ones, AND only what will fit on one award bar, one row, generally 4, but 5Max. Here he is wear two rows, while attending THE most Formal Occasion anyone in our lifetime has seen. While it IS a "Daytime" event, where large medals are "Allowed", it is also much more formal than the "Daytime" events the rules generally apply to. Two rows, of Large Medals is seriously pushing the limits of decorum, and well past the limits of "Taste"

Usually when we see a decorated veteran wearing a military medal with civilian clothes, it is that ultimate award worn with a neck ribbon by a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. More power to them!
On Kerry, it is hypocritical display by a vain arrogant little man who has grown larger and larger in his own eyes as he has aged.
